Stanly County woman wins $1 million lottery prize
STANFIELD, N.C. () — A Stanfield woman won big with a scratch-off lottery ticket, according to the North Carolina State Lottery Commission.
Martha Ramos Melgar bought a 50X The Cash ticket for $10 at the Stanfield Express on West Stanly Street.
Melgar could choose between a 20-year annuity of $50,000 or a lump sum of $600,000. She chose the lump sum, taking home $394,500 after taxes.
The 50X The Cash game launched in February 2024 with six $1 million top prizes. Melgar won the last prize of this round.
