Angels Make MLB History in Red Sox Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Los Angeles Angels entered their series opener against the Boston Red Sox eager to rebound after dropping two consecutive games to the Cleveland Guardians. These losses brought their season record to 26-32, keeping them in fourth place in the AL West. Zach Neto led off with a solo shot, followed by a three-run homer from Mike Trout, and capped by Jo Adell's solo blast over the Green Monster.
This trio of home runs marked a historic achievement: the Angels became the first visiting team in Fenway Park's storied history to hit three homers in the first inning. Given that Fenway has been a Major League Baseball landmark since 1912, this is a major feat the Angels franchise would be proud to have achieved.
Neto's leadoff homer was his 10th of the season, continuing his impressive campaign, while Trout's three-run blast marked his first home run since returning from a lengthy injury and his 10th of the season. Adell's solo shot was his eight of the year, adding to his growing contributions to the team's offense.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, new Suns general manager Brian Gregory was scheduled to interview Oklahoma City Thunder assistant Dave Bliss over the weekend. "There have been strong indications during the search process, sources say, to reinforce the notion that Phoenix is likely to move on from Kevin Durant after Durant's 2 1/2-season run in the desert," Stein wrote. "It has been anticipated for some time that Phoenix, no matter who is hired as the new coach, will explore its Durant trade options this offseason — in collaboration with the future Hall of Famer and his business manager Rich Kleiman — after Phoenix unilaterally pursued a Durant trade in February that the 36-year-old ultimately urged them not to make." Durant turns 37 in September. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from 3 and 83.9% from the free-throw line.
