Srinidhi Shetty
was living a very different life — as an engineering graduate working at
Accenture
. Behind the routine of corporate life, however, was a dream that never dimmed. That dream took flight after she won a beauty pageant in 2016, catching the eye of the KGF makers, who offered her a role that would change her life forever. Srinidhi is a techie from Bengaluru
Not many know that the stunning actress is an engineer by qualification. Srinidhi holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Jain University, Bangalore. Alongside her academic achievements, she made waves in the modelling world — winning titles like Miss Karnataka, Miss Beautiful Smile, and becoming the first runner-up and Miss Congeniality at Miss Queen of India. While she briefly juggled a career at Accenture, it was clear that Srinidhi was destined for something far beyond the corporate world.
Her silver screen debut couldn't have been more spectacular. Srinidhi made her entry into films with the blockbuster KGF, starring opposite Yash. As Reena, Srinidhi portrayed a character full of grace, independence, and subtle arrogance — a perfect contrast to Yash's wild and fearless Rocky. Despite having no acting experience, she impressed everyone with her expressive performance, relying more on emotions than dialogues. Srinidhi credits director Prashanth Neel for mentoring her and making her feel at ease on set.
Now, Srinidhi is all set to expand her horizons with her much-awaited Telugu debut,
HIT 3
, opposite Nani. Slated to release on May 1, 2025, the film is already generating major buzz. Srinidhi plays a pivotal role as Nani's wife, even though the promos have kept her character under wraps. Talking about the project, she shared that when someone like
Nani
offers you a film, you just take it without a second thought.

Rajinikanth's Coolie Makers Challenge CBFC's ‘A' Certificate, File Appeal a Week After Release
Superstar Rajinikanth's action thriller Coolie was released in theaters on August 14, 2025. The movie was given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and now, the makers are challenging the decision in court. Why is Coolie team challenging the A-rated certificate by CBFC? According to a report by Times Now, Coolie's producers have contested the CBFC's decision to grant the film an A-rated certificate, which they claim has limited its accessibility to a broader audience. Earlier, Justice TV Thamilselvi admitted the petition, in which the producers, Sun Pictures, argued that Coolie's action sequences were on par with those in KGF and Beast, both of which were granted a U/A certificate. However, the CBFC responded to the Madras High Court, stating that Sun TV Network Limited had refused to make the cuts required to be eligible for a U/A certificate and had instead accepted the A certificate. Additional Solicitor General Sundaresan said, 'At the time of hearing, it was proposed to them that if they want the U/A certificate, some more cuts have to be made. They made an endorsement saying that we don't want any cuts. They accepted the A certificate.' The Additional Solicitor General also requested the High Court to grant the CBFC time until August 25, 2025, to file a counter-affidavit. More details about Coolie Coolie is an action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie shows the story of Devaraj aka Deva, a former union leader who stayed in the shadows for over 30 years until the death of his friend Rajasekhar prompts him to resurface. Seeking revenge, Deva goes up against Simon Xavier, a kingpin involved in smuggling, someone with whom he shares a dark history. The clash between the two forms the central conflict of the story. Starring Rajinikanth in the lead, the film also had Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Sathyaraj, and many others in pivotal roles. It also includes a cameo appearance by Aamir Khan. Rajinikanth's next movie Rajinikanth is currently working on Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The upcoming film is a sequel to Jailer (2023), and stars like Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are expected to reprise their original roles. Interestingly, there are reports that Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan may be collaborating on a movie together. The project is likely to be helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, but an official confirmation is pending.

'Coolie' censor row: Rajinikanth starrer gets relief in Singapore, storms box office
Superstar Rajinikanth's film 'Coolie' was released to a grand success worldwide on August 14. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj , the film has set a record by grossing over Rs. 400 crore in its first week. However, the film was given an 'A' certificate by the CBFC in India, making families hesitant to watch the film with their children. Many fans accused 'Coolie' of being given stricter censorship, comparing it to films like 'KGF' and 'Beast', which had similar violent scenes and were given a 'U/A' certificate. As a result, a petition was filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of the production company, seeking permission to screen the film with a 'U/A' certificate. 4 minutes trimmed and runs with PG-13 in Singapore But not in India, 'Coolie' gets a relaxation in Singapore, and the Singapore Censorship Board re-censored the film. According to Daily Thanthi, approximately 4 minutes of footage were removed with the approval of the film crew. As a result, the film's initial NC-16 (restricted to those under 16) certificate in the country was changed to PG-13 (for those over 13 with parental consent). As a result, the film has received a censor exemption so that it can be watched with the family in Singapore. Now, fans in India are anticipating a similar practice in India. Madras High Court adjourns the case to August 25 A hearing on the petition filed at the Madras High Court by the 'Coolie' makers for U/A was heared yesterday (Aug 20). As per News 18, the official counsel A.R.L. Sundaresan, appearing for the Censor Board, said that a U/A certificate would be issued if certain scenes were removed. But the production company said it had accepted the 'A' certificate and needed time to respond to the petition. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the judge asked the Censor Board to respond and adjourned the hearing to August 25. 'Coolie' has entered into second week of theatrical run, and the film reportedly grossed close of Rs 450 crore globally in 7 days.
