Mum handcuffed young son and watched pit bull grab him by the throat 'like a chew toy'
Angelina Williams, 28, handcuffed her son's wrists and ankles as a punishment for refusing to pick up dog waste with his bare hands while on a trip to Savannah, Ohio.
She was attempting to tie him to a chair when he fell on the ground. The pit bull belonging to the homeowner, Robert Michalski Jr, then clamped on to the youngster's throat and refusing to let go.
Judge Dave Stimpert at Ashland County Common Pleas Court criticised the mum's actions, stating she had let her son be used as a "chew toy" by the dog, the Mirror reports.
He sustained serious injuries, including deep lacerations to his neck. Photographs shown to the court depicted heavy bruising on his face and neck. The judge added: 'That dog tried to rip out his throat. I'm not sure that there are words that adequately describe it.'
Michalski is said to have fled the scene with the dog in the aftermath of the incident, to try to prevent authorities from seizing it.
Williams pleaded guilty in May 2025 to kidnapping, obstruction of justice, possessing criminal tools, and four counts of child endangerment, just days before the scheduled start of her trial. She had been held without bail since being arrested in August last year.
She has now been sentenced to a minimum of 19 years behind bars.

Prosecutors told the court she had taken her two children - the six-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl - to Ohio, during which she started using restraints as a form of discipline. She handcuffed the children and tied them with ropes, on one occasion sharing a photo online of her daughter in restraints.
In an earlier court appearance, she acknowledged the facts of the case, but claimed ignorance of any wrongdoing. She told the judge: 'I didn't know that the cuffs were illegal... My uncle told me it was OK, and I never meant any harm.'
The young boy made a full recovery, and is being cared for by a legal guardian alongside his sister. Both are receiving proper support and protection.
Two men linked to the case - Michalski Jr. and Taylor Marvin-Brown, who prosecutors have said was in a relationship with Williams - have also been convicted and will be sentenced later this month.

No suspicious circumstances are thought to be involved, and a report will be compiled for the coroner. Rachel was last seen by her family during the early hours of Saturday morning in Barnton, near Northwich. Police confirmed another sighting occurred at 3.50am approximately five miles away at a petrol station on the A556, where she purchased milk and wine after completing a 45-minute jog. Petrol station employee Issac Carolan, 19, previously spoke to The Sun about the mother's purchases in the early Saturday morning hours. He explained: "I spoke to my colleague who had served her on Saturday morning. She bought milk and wine and jogged from 45 minutes away." Issac continued: "But it didn't seem weird, she didn't seem disturbed or flustered." On Saturday evening, police confirmed they were "conducting enquiries" in Oakmere village, close to Delamere Forest, and the "surrounding area". Police initially believed she had made her way to Oakmere, Delamere, located about eight miles from Barnton. Prior to the grim discovery of the body, Superintendent Paul Hughes expressed growing concern: "We are currently following a number of inquiries to trace Rachel and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare." He detailed the extensive search efforts, stating: "As part of our investigation, our officers and partner agencies, including the Underwater Search Team and Cheshire Search and Rescue, are conducting inquiries in the Oakmere and surrounding areas where it is believed Rachel travelled to, and we would like to thank local businesses for their patience and understanding while these are currently ongoing." Hughes urged anyone with information to come forward: "Investigators are following all lines of inquiry and anyone who has seen Rachel since she was reported missing is asked to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has any information on her whereabouts. We would also like to appeal directly to Rachel to get in touch to let us know you are OK." Rachel is described as being 5ft 9ins tall, slim, with blonde hair, and likely wearing black leggings and a black top. Locals have spoken warmly of Rachel, with one Barnton resident, Raj Kaur, telling The Sun that she is "a lovely clever lady" and "very active and very nice". Another mother from the area recalled: "I knew her from the school and she was always pleasant - she has three boys at the school."
