Government agencies and MADANI community urged to raise Jalur Gemilang
Kelantan Information Department (JAPEN) director Muhd Aswadi Md Nor said active involvement from government agencies and the MADANI community is key to ensuring the message of love for the country reaches the people widely.
'As institutions close to the community, government agencies and neighbourhood associations must set an example for locals by decorating their buildings or homes with the Jalur Gemilang as a manifestation of unity and love for the nation.'
'The responsibility of raising the Jalur Gemilang should be shared and driven collectively by all levels of society,' he told Bernama after flagging off the Merdeka Jalur Gemilang Journey (KMJG) 2025 convoy at Politeknik Kota Bharu today.
The event was officiated by National Kenaf and Tobacco Board chairman Datuk Seri Md Alwi Che Ahmad.
KMJG 2025 in Kelantan, held over two days, began at Kolej Komuniti Jeli before proceeding to Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, and ending in Machang before being handed over to the Terengganu KMJG convoy.
KMJG 2025 is part of initiatives to enliven National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations under the theme 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni,' aligning with the nation's leadership vision rooted in humanity, social well-being, and justice. - Bernama

Education Ministry orders spot checks on schools to curb bullying
KUALA TERENGGANU: The Education Ministry has ordered all state education directors and district education officers to conduct spot checks on schools to curb bullying. Education director-general Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad (pic) said officials also have to visit boarding schools at night, not only to monitor but to know and understand how boarding school students live. "Maybe we need to go down without being told. We go to schools, look at the situation there, we want to see the nature of the school, how things happen. KUALA TERENGGANU: The Education Ministry (MoE) has directed all state education directors and district education officers to carry out spot checks in schools to combat bullying. Education director-general Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad said officials would also conduct night visits to boarding schools, not only to monitor but to better understand the living conditions of boarding students. "Perhaps we need to visit unannounced. We go to schools to observe the situation and understand the nature of the school and how things operate. Night visits to dormitories may be necessary," he told reporters after the Madani Teachers Appreciation Event, officiated by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. He added that the ministry has instructed school principals and headmasters to lead chants of 'Kami Benci Buli' (We Hate Bullying) before and after each school session, aiming to instil a strong rejection of bullying among students. Tanjong MP distributes Jalur Gemilang for National Month celebrations
GEORGE TOWN: The Tanjong MP Service Centre has distributed 1,600 Jalur Gemilang flags to 21 schools in the parliamentary constituency in preparation for National Day and Malaysia Day 2025. Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying officiated the distribution of 6,000 mini Jalur Gemilang flags to students at the Tanjong Parliamentary Constituency District Level National Month Launching Ceremony. Lim, who is also the Tanjong MP, encouraged all schools in the area to proudly display the Jalur Gemilang at their gates, buildings, or classrooms. She emphasised that the flag is more than just a decoration but a symbol of spirit, hope, and responsibility for the younger generation. 'Let every corner be decorated with the Jalur Gemilang colours as a symbol of unity of heart, love for the country and appreciation for the sacrifices of past warriors,' she said. Lim also presided over the 2024 STPM Excellence Incentive Presentation Ceremony, awarding RM10,600 to 28 high-achieving students. Two students from Kolej Tingkatan Enam Hutchings and SMKA Al-Mashoor Perempuan achieved a perfect Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 4.0.
