Govt agencies, Madani communities must play active role in flying Jalur Gemilang, says Japen
KOTA BARU: All federal and state government agencies as well as Madani communities across the nation have been urged to take a more proactive role in fostering patriotism by flying the Jalur Gemilang at their premises in conjunction with National Month. Kelantan Information Department (Japen) director Muhd Aswadi Md Nor stated that active involvement is essential to ensuring the message of patriotism reaches the wider public. "As institutions closely connected to the community, government agencies and neighbourhood associations must set an example for residents by decorating their buildings or homes with the Jalur Gemilang to manifest unity and love for the country. "The responsibility of flying the Jalur Gemilang must be shared and embraced by all levels of society," he told Bernama after the flagging off of the 2025 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) convoy at Politeknik Kota Baru on Monday (Aug 11), officiated by National Kenaf and Tobacco Board chairman Datuk Seri Md Alwi Che Ahmad. The convoy began its journey on Sunday (Aug 10) from Kolej Komuniti Jeli. It then proceeded to Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, concluding the ride in Machang before handing over the Jalur Gemilang to the Terengganu KMJG convoy. KMJG 2025 is part of the initiative to enliven the National Month and Malaysia Day celebrations, themed Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni, in line with the nation's leadership vision rooted in the values of humanity, social well-being, and justice. – Bernama

Harley Davidson motorcycles join 2025 KMJG convoy in Kelantan
KOTA BHARU: A total of 32 high-powered Harley Davidson motorcycles are participating in the 2025 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) Convoy, which will run over two days in Kelantan. State Information Department director Muhd Aswadi Md Nor said the convoy also includes 67 vehicles from government agencies, private organisations, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs). 'Beginning at the Jeli Community College, the convoy will travel through Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, and Kota Bharu before concluding in Machang. The flag will then be handed over to the Terengganu KMJG convoy,' he said after the flagging off ceremony at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato Mahmud Paduka Raja (1) here today. Aswadi added that the event is being celebrated with great patriotism, in line with the nationwide initiative to commemorate National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM), under the theme 'Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni,' The convoy features various activities, including the ceremonial handover of the Jalur Gemilang flag, performances of patriotic songs, the installation of flags on participating vehicles, traditional Malay costume parades, and poetry recitals.
