Pawan Kalyan's Thammudu To Re-Release Ahead Of Actor's Birthday: Report
Pawan Kalyan's cult classic Thammudu is all set to hit the big screens. According to reports, the film will be re-released ahead of the actor's birthday, which falls on September 2. The move comes as a celebratory gesture for Pawan Kalyan's popularity and as a treat for his massive fan following.
According to 123 Telugu, Thammudu was first set to re-release on September 2, 2025, but fans don't have to wait that long now. The film will re-release on August 30, 2025. Two days ahead. This sports movie was directed by PA Arun Prasad. Produced by Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna, it starred Preeti Jhangiani and Aditi Govitrikar, and Achyuth too.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has found himself in the middle of a legal storm. A petition filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court accuses him of misusing government funds and machinery to promote his recent film 'Harihara Veeramallu'. The petition was filed by Vijay Kumar, a former IAS officer and founding president of the Liberation Congress Party. He has requested a CBI investigation into the matter, alleging that Pawan Kalyan used his official position for personal and commercial gain.
What The Court Said
The case came up for a preliminary hearing on Monday before Justice Venkata Jyothirmai. The court directed the registry to include the names of lawyers representing the CBI and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the case's hearing list. The matter has now been adjourned for a week.
However, the judge rejected a request to issue notices to the respondents at this stage, clarifying that such action would be considered later depending on the circumstances.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu OTT Release: When And Where To Watch
Pawan Kalyan's big-budget period drama, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, is now making its way to OTT just weeks after its theatrical run. Directed by Krish and Jyothi Krisna, the film also stars Bobby Deol and Nidhhi Agerwal. It hit theatres on July 24 with huge expectations but ended up receiving a mixed response from audiences and critics alike. As is common in Telugu cinema these days, films that don't have a long theatrical run quickly shift to digital platforms. The same has happened with Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which is all set to stream online less than a month after its release.
The makers officially announced on the film's X (formerly Twitter) handle that the historical epic will premiere on Prime Video from today, August 20. The post read, 'A tale of rebellion, rage and righteousness. The storm that started in theatres now takes over your screens." The movie dropped at midnight, and the announcement was made just hours before its OTT arrival.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu was released amid huge anticipation, especially since it was Pawan Kalyan's first film after becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Unlike his usual style of avoiding film promotions, the actor actively participated in promotional events across the country. However, despite the hype, the film disappointed many due to weak storytelling and underwhelming visual effects.

Hyderabad: The nearly three-week-long strike by the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation, which brought film shooting in the region to a standstill, was called off on Thursday following the intervention of chief minister A Revanth Reddy. The CM engaged with all sections of the Telugu film industry, holding meetings with producers and representatives of the striking unions. After inquiring into the primary issues that led to the strike, he ensured that a "common solution acceptable to all stakeholders" was reached, resulting in the strike being called off. Baaghi 4 to lead IMDb's list of 2025's most anticipated Indian movies, ahead of Param Sundari and Jolly LLB 3
According to IMDb's real-time popularity charts (as of August 20), Sajid Nadiadwala's action thriller Baaghi 4, releasing on September 5, is the most-awaited Indian film of 2025. With 24.5% audience interest, it has taken a clear lead and along with other upcoming biggies, has cracked IMDb's coveted Top 10 Most Anticipated Indian Titles list. The Tiger Shroff actioner, part of the popular Baaghi franchise, has been drawing audience interest, ever since the teaser was released recently. The film's dominance on the anticipation charts highlights the continued appeal of mass action cinema in India. Close behind Baaghi 4 is Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, securing the second spot with 13.8%. The Telugu biggie, helmed by Sujeeth, has been generating enormous hype, particularly due to Pawan Kalyan's return in a stylish gangster avatar. Scheduled to release on September 25, the movie promises to be a big-screen action spectacle. At number three is Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor's romantic comedy Param Sundari (12.4%). The movie is slated to release on August 29. Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi's Jolly LLB 3 (9.9%), scheduled for September 19 release, finds itself in fourth position currently, proving that courtroom drama-comedies still hold wide audience appeal even in a crowded lineup of mega-budget entertainers. Add as a Preferred Source The fifth to tenth positions show a diverse mix of genres and industries, signalling how anticipation in Indian cinema is no longer confined to just one region or style. Anime-inspired Mirai (9.5%) has carved its way into the fifth slot, while Lokah Chapter One: Chandra (8.7%) and The Bengal Files (6.9%) further add to the range with fantasy storytelling and politically charged drama, respectively. Raghu Dakat (5.3%) and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 (5.2%) showcase how period dramas and franchise-driven sequels continue to attract attention, with Kaantha (3.9%) rounding off the top ten. The rating of the top 10 movies is based on IMDb's page views, which keep changing.

Strike by Telugu film workers comes to end following pact with producers
Agency: PTI Last Updated: Hyderabad, Aug 21 (PTI) The over two-week long strike by Telugu film workers over wage hike and others came to an end on Thursday following an agreement with producers. The workers and producers reached an understanding during the talks held in the presence of state labour department officials. Speaking to reporters late on Thursday, Gangadhar, a senior labour department official, said the workers' federation has demanded a 30 per cent wage hike over the last three years. The initial negotiations between the federation and producers did not yield result which led to the intervention of the department, he said. He said both parties have agreed to a 22.5 per cent wage hike over the last three years. He said, among others, hikes of 15 per cent, 2.5 per cent and five per cent (total 22.5 per cent) would be made for the last three years respectively to 'low wage' workers. The official added that a committee, headed by a bureaucrat, would go into other issues, including service conditions. Film shootings came to a halt since August 4 when the strike began over the demand for 30 per cent wage hike and others. Alexander, a leader of the workers, had said earlier that the hike is not for 30 per cent at once, but 10 per cent annually, which is due this year. However, the hike has not been effected since the last four months, he alleged. Damodar Prasad, Secretary of Telugu Film Chamber, had earlier said the workers 'unilaterally" decided to work only for producers who pay them the increased wages though talks were ongoing with the involvement of the labour department. He had said the Telugu film industry already pays higher wages to union workers than other state film industries.
