‘Armed and dangerous' 17-year-old arrested in Richmond neighborhood

Richmond Police shared on social media that the SWAT team, in coordination with the S.A.F.E. Unit and the Investigative Services Division, executed the warrant at a home near S. 18th and S. A streets around 3:30 p.m.

The warrant was for a 17-year-old boy who was wanted on a Level 5 felony weapons charge. Police said he failed to appear in court for his bond revocation hearing.
'Due to his history of violent offenses—including the shooting of an 11-year-old, an armed robbery, and fleeing from police while in possession of an AR-style pistol—he was classified as armed and dangerous, warranting the deployment of SWAT for his arrest," police wrote.
The teen was taken into custody without incident and will be transported to a detention facility.

Driver hospitalized after car splits in two in suspected OVI crash in Darke Co.
A man is hospitalized after hitting a utility pole and splitting his car in half in Darke County early Thursday morning. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Deputies and medics responded at 3:43 a.m. to the 11,000 block of State Route 49 on reports of an injury crash, according to a Darke County Sheriff's spokesperson. The front of the vehicle continued into a bean field, with the rear of the vehicle re-entering the road and coming to a rest, the spokesperson said. Medics transported the 30-year-old driver, Kyle Lecompte, to an area hospital with minor injuries. The sheriff's office said that Lecompte showed signs of alcohol impairment. Deputies cited him for OVI and failure to control a motor vehicle, the spokesman stated. The crash remains under investigation.
