Amazon reduces 'neat' £100 smartwatch 'worth every penny' to £16

Amazon Prime members get over £80 off the smartwatch that 'really impressed' shoppers
Amazon Prime Day 2025 ends tomorrow, but plenty of offers are still up for grabs. One standout deal has seen the WeurGhy Smart Watch for Men and Women discounted from £99.99 to £15.19, offering shoppers 85% off the original price.
The product description states: "This activity tracker is equipped with high-precision sensors to monitor health data such as heart rate and blood oxygen around the clock. Automatically analyze sleep quality and generate professional reports. Help you fully understand your physical condition and develop healthy living habits."
The description adds: "This fitness watch has more than 120 professional sports modes built in, which can accurately record your sports data at any time, including calorie consumption, steps and exercise trajectory."
However, one shopper suggested "the functions are limited to what a smartphone can do." That said, reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and happy customers think the discounted watch is "value for money" and "worth every penny."
It's not the only smartwatch on offer from Amazon, so customers should shop around and compare deals before making a purchase. There are also deals available from other retailers.
For instance, the Reflex Active Series 12 Navy Strap Smart Watch is on sale for £30.99 from £39.99 at Argos. Elsewhere, H Samuel offers the Sekonda Flex Rose Gold Tone Bracelet Smart Watch for £65 from £79.99 and Currys offers the FITBIT Versa 4 Smart Watch for £179.
For shoppers who prefer the WeurGhy Smart Watch for Men Women, Amazon's offering has earned high praise. Reviewers gave it an average score of 4.9 out of five. However, it's worth noting there are fewer than 100 global ratings to date, which might be a negative for shoppers who prefer to read a variety of reviews before making a purchase.
One of the positive reviews said: "I am really impressed by how neat it looks and the tasks it can do such as heart rate monitor and calls and weather. For £15 it's worth every penny. It's waterproof and means I can read texts off my wrist instead of hunting for my smartphone every time I get a WhatsApp message. Is a good bit of useful, cheap and cheerful tech."
Someone else praised: "Great for my child, she is always available and she loves the purple color. Good model if you don't want to spend so much money."
A different commenter had mixed thoughts, as they liked the watch but thought it could be improved. They wrote: "Great value for money. Very nice design (I chose the lilac color and it's gorgeous), large and readable display. The main functions such as pedometer, heart rate monitor, sleep monitoring and notifications are very precise.
"The battery lasts 5-6 days with regular use. The only flaw is that the compatible apps are limited and a bit basic, but for the price it's a great buy. Perfect for those who want a functional smartwatch without breaking the bank."
Another shopper with similar feedback replied: "Absolutely satisfied, the fitness tracker offers everything I need for my running training and works as described. Pairing with Android was problem-free. The functions are limited to what a smartphone can do, but the tracker is much more comfortable to carry."

Amazon reduces ‘unbelievably sharp' kitchen gadget from £30 to £17 – it's 6-in-1 and will SLASH meal prep time

AMAZON shoppers are rushing to snap up a time-saving kitchen gadget that's been slashed by 43%. The retail giant has reduced this 6-in-1 vegetable chopper - which has over 24,000 five-star reviews - from £29.99 to just £16.99. 2 Fullstar 6-in-1 Vegetable Chopper, £29.99 £16.99 BUY FROM AMAZON The Fullstar vegetable chopper has been purchased over 5,000 times in July and is an 'Amazon's Choice' product, which are well-priced, highly-rated items with fast shipping. The last great kitchen deal we spotted on Amazon was on a Ninja knife block during the Prime Day sale. This deal, by contrast, is available to everyone, not just Prime subscribers. Perfect for summer salad season, this handy little chopper contains six stainless steel blades, a finger guard, and a cleaning brush. These six blades include a fine dicer, a medium dicer, a grater, a shredder, a julienne (ribbon) blade, and a slicer. That means you can grate cheese, dice an onion, julienne a courgette, and plenty more - this is a great chance to spice up and speed up your mealtimes. Whether you're trying to jazz up a plate of veggies for your kids or you're struggling with old, dulled kitchen knives, this Amazon deal looks like a smart purchase. The blades are not only extra-sharp (hence the safety features and finger guard) but they're strong and durable too, made of 420J stainless steel. The extra-hard ABS plastic container can take use after use, not cracking under all the vegetables being chopped, no matter how thick or coarse. The chopper would also suit those who are getting less able to cook and be nimble in the kitchen, as the device requires 'only a little pressure to chop' and creates less mess and washing up in the meantime. Amazon shoppers have already taken to the review section to rave about this smart chopper, praising its functionality, ease of use, and value for money. Many customers have commented on how efficient it made cooking and meal prep. 'If you want to save time in the kitchen, you need this! It's a great buy,' writers one buyer. Another says: 'This contraption is AMAZING! It saves so much time in the kitchen.' Others have loved the impact it's had on kids and fussy eaters, with one parent commenting: '[It] converted my children to salad eaters. They don't normally eat salad, but they enjoyed this device so much they ate large plates of [it] for dinner after!' This isn't the only Amazon deal the Sun Shopping team has written about recently. Anyone look for iPhone charging should look at an 'ultra-slim' Magsafe power bank slashed from £160 to £20. Those looking for protection against the sun and rain in this summer shouldn't miss a garden gazebo that's been cut by 21%.

No plans to get Big Tech to pay digital law compliance costs, EU tech chief says

BRUSSELS, July 23 (Reuters) - The European Commission will not ask Alphabet (GOOGL.O), opens new tab, Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab, Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab, ByteDance, Meta Platforms (META.O), opens new tab and Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab to pay the cost of monitoring their compliance with a new digital law, the EU tech chief said on Wednesday. Germany and European Parliament lawmakers have lobbied for a supervisory fee to be levied on Big Tech to help EU antitrust regulators better enforce the Digital Markets Act. The European Commission Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen, who is responsible for the technology sector, said rules were always under review and she would monitor developments, but had no plans to make the companies pay despite the enormous volume of monitoring work. "So it's always, of course, there is this possibility, but now we are not having any new proposal on that," Virkkunen told Reuters in an interview. The landmark legislation, which has been enforced since 2023, sets out a list of dos and don'ts aimed at curbing the six companies' power and giving consumers more choice. The group of Big Tech companies, which includes were picked because they provide a core platform service for business users. Proponents of a DMA supervisory fee said it should be similar to the levy imposed on big online platforms subject to another piece of legislation called the Digital Services Tax that requires companies to do more to police content on their sites. The digital services supervisory fee amounts to 0.05% of a company's annual worldwide net income.

Amazon's 'bargain' smartwatch that 'looks like Apple' was £100 now £24

People have said that the watch could pass as a leading model, which often sells for hundreds of pounds more Amazon shoppers have been raving about an affordable smartwatch that "covers all the features" expected of something more expensive. People can take advantage of a deal that knocks even more off the price tag, as the device is now £76 cheaper. The Jugeman Smart Watch normally costs Amazon shoppers £99.99 but has been discounted by more than 75% - but it's only for certain styles. At the time of writing, the light black, grey, light pink, green and blue versions are all under £24. Amazon claims that the fitness tracker has all the features people would expect from a smartwatch, like connecting to the phone via Bluetooth to make and receive calls. It can also pull messages from various other apps, such as WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and more. For fitness fanatics, the waterproof watch offers a range of features to make training and tracking progress effortless. With more than 110 different sport programmes, it "helps you train scientifically and achieve your fitness goals", Amazon adds. A major selling point that shoppers constantly praise about this watch is its 'long battery life'. Amazon also claims that a two-hour charge provides "up to 5-7 days of battery life." Alternatives are available elsewhere if people want to get their hands on a smartwatch but don't want to spend hundreds of pounds. For example, Sports Direct is offering this Karrimor Smart Watch (£19.99, down from £49.99) and the Reflex Active Series 23 Smart Watch from Currys (£39.99). One said: "Everyone keeps asking if it's an Apple Watch. It's brilliant, well worth the money and more!" Another added: "Great value watch, easy to set up, operate and read from the watch face. Good battery life was a replacement for a much more expensive version but still covers all the features." A third wrote: "Excellent value, look's really good and real easy to use, and the battery charge lasts forever." Someone else said: "Have been waiting for what felt like forever for this watch to go down in price and when it did, I brought two! "So easy to set up, comfortable to wear, easy to use but the biggest bonus for me is the battery life. Five days worn and it's still at 50% - that's impressive!" A fifth put: "It is very good and easy to set up, so far the whole family has one." Some did point out a few issues they had. One shared: "Has every sport app on it except swimming which is unusual but otherwise very pleased." And, another warned they found the device "can be very temperamental", suggesting it struggled to record steps, workouts and sleep patterns. A third put: "Watch doesn't always register my steps. Update took a while. The weather doesn't change unless I open weather on my phone then watch updates to the temp."
