Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, faced VFX criticism. Director Jyothi Krisna admitted flaws but defended the story.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, has been facing sharp criticism since its release mainly for its patchy VFX. Now, one of the film's directors, Jyothi Krisna, has responded to the backlash and admitted that he knew some visual effects in the film weren't quite up to the mark.
The film, directed by Krish and Jyothi Krisna, released in theatres last Friday, with paid premieres held earlier on Wednesday. It stars Pawan Kalyan as Veera Mallu, Nidhhi Agerwal as Panchami, and Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb.
Speaking to ABN in a recent interview, Jyothi said the issues people are pointing out are 'minor". 'Anyone will troll only those who are in the limelight. People only get views when they write about something famous. I do not take any of the negativity to heart. Every single day, I see something negative being written about Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This is not the first time a film has taken this long to produce."
He added, 'When they nitpicked, all they could find was that the CGI and VFX were bad in some places. No one could point out the story and screenplay, or say it's boring, or that they can't understand it. There are 4400 shots in the film that required CGI. I knew in my heart that a few shots weren't up to par, but it wasn't something huge. We needed to hold special premieres for which tickets were sold out, and they turned that minor issue into something major."
The film reportedly has over 4,400 VFX shots. Despite the criticism, it has done well at the box office, crossing Rs 100 crore in just four days. Over the weekend, an updated version of the film, with some of the bad VFX trimmed or removed, started playing in theatres.
On Sunday, July 27, the makers shared a post featuring the poster of the film and writing alongside it, 'BATTLE FOR DHARMA JUST GOT BIGGER. Updated & reloaded content across all screens for the BEST cinematic experience. #HariHaraVeeraMallu – IN CINEMAS NOW."

The most significant changes were made to the film's climax. Originally, it featured a face-off between Pawan Kalyan's Veera Mallu and Bobby Deol's Aurangzeb in the middle of a tornado. That entire sequence has been removed. The film now features the scene where Aurangzeb says, 'Aandhi vachesindi (The storm is here)" while Veera Mallu rides in.
The film ends with teasing the sequel to HHVM, titled Yuddhabhoomi or Battlefield, which will continue the story.

‘Nagarjuna slapped me 15 times, I had marks on my face': Isha Koppikar recalls the star apologised to her afterwards

Film actors are required to act in front of the camera but sometimes, they believe that they have to go through the emotions that their character is going through to correctly portray the character's state of mind. Actor Isha Koppikar did something similar when she was working with Nagarjuna in their 1998 film Chandralekha. In a recent interview, Isha recalled that she asked Nagarjuna to slap her in a scene and to get it right, he slapped her 14 times. By the time they were done, Isha had slap marks on her face, and Nagarjuna apologised profusely. In a chat with Hindi Rush, Isha shared, 'I got slapped by Nagarjuna. I was a fully committed actor that I want to perform in a real, method way. So when he was slapping me, I couldn't feel it. This was my second film, so I told him 'Nag, you really slap me.' He said, 'Are you sure? No, I can't.' I said, 'I want that feeling. I am not feeling it right now.' So he slapped me, but softly.' Isha Koppikar said that at that time, she couldn't really express her anger in front of the camera and here, the camera couldn't catch her expression, so they kept asking her to do take after take. 'In an attempt to look angry, I got slapped 14 times,' she recalled. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Plot Revealed: Mihir-Tulsi's Happy Marriage Faces New Storm

Amar Upadhyay shares how Mihir and Tulsi will tackle the younger generation in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, premiering tonight. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 premieres tonight (July 29) at 10:30 pm, and anticipation is sky-high as Smriti Irani returns as Tulsi Virani. Alongside her, Amar Upadhyay will reprise his iconic role of Mihir Virani. As fans gear up for the reboot of one of Indian television's most iconic soaps, Amar has now revealed intriguing details about the plot. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Amar shared that while Mihir's character has evolved, his bond with Tulsi remains intact. 'Mihir is a bit changed in the way he moves around. He is a big businessman now. In season 1, he had done his MBA and returned to India to join his father's business. Now he is a very big businessman, busy exploring new business ideas," he explained. The actor also hinted at a conflict with the younger generation in the family. 'Smriti and my relation is just the way it was. The new kids come in, and with them, we have some differences, which is a different track altogether," Amar added. The new generation of the Virani family includes characters played by Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, and Shagun Sharma. According to Amar, Mihir's success as a businessman brings an added dimension to the show's storyline. While the bond between Tulsi and Mihir remains strong, the reboot will focus on the clash of values and perspectives between the older and younger generations—a theme likely to resonate with today's audience. Amar Upadhyay also revealed that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 will be a finite series, expected to run for 10 to 12 months. This marks a shift from the original version, which ran for over eight years and became a cultural phenomenon. The reboot also stars Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, and several new faces, promising a blend of nostalgia and fresh drama. With Ekta Kapoor at the helm once again, the makers aim to recreate the same magic with a modern twist. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
