OPEN// Arab League decries Israeli PM's 'Greater Israel' remarks

CAIRO, Aug 13 (MENA) – The Arab League's General Secretariat condemned in the strongest terms statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about annexing parts of sovereign Arab territories to establish what he called "Greater Israel." In a statement on Wednesday, the AL General Secretariat described the statements as "a blatant violation" of Arab sovereignty and an attempt to undermine regional security and stability. According to the statement, the remarks pose a serious threat to collective Arab national security, flagrantly defy international law, and reflect unacceptable expansionist and aggressive intentions, revealing an extremist mindset rooted in colonial illusions. The Arab League called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take firm action against these statements, warning they fuel regional hostility toward Israel and destabilize the Middle East.
