The event had only just started on Thursday, June 12, with Luke Combs and Rebecca Black among the opening performers.Worsening weather conditions prompted organizers to evacuate Centeroo by Friday afternoon, the heart of the festival grounds, at 1:30 pm CT. 'We are beyond gutted, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo ,' read a push notification from the Bonnaroo app.The festival website added: 'Today, the National Weather Service provided us with an updated forecast with significant and steady precipitation that will produce deteriorating camping and egress conditions in the coming days.'The updated weather forecast showed persistent rain and flooding across The Farm. Campgrounds, especially in the 'Outeroo' area, had become muddy, flooded, and in some cases, inaccessible. Organizers prioritized evacuating those in the most vulnerable conditions.'If your campsite is in good shape or if you're in an RV or pre-pitched accommodation, please consider spending the night with us, and we'll start working to get you out of here safely tomorrow,' festival organizers requested. Many fans took to social media expressing heartbreak and disappointment, but also relief. Olivia Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne, and Justice were scheduled for Saturday, while Sunday would have featured Hozier, Vampire Weekend, and Queens of the Stone Age.This marks the second major Bonnaroo disruption in recent years. Hurricane Ida's remnants also led to a cancellation in 2021.Festival organizers have promised full or partial refunds depending on the type of ticket purchased. Attendees who bought 1-day admission tickets for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, as well as parking passes, will receive full refunds. Those who purchased 4-day passes or camping packages through Front Gate Tickets are entitled to a 75 percent refund. All refunds will be automatically processed back to the original method of payment within 30 days.
