Emirati mobile heart clinics tour Pakistani villages to provide comprehensive healthcare
The mobile clinics operate within an integrated field system supervised by specialised medical teams, including cardiologists, pediatricians, family doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and pharmacists. They are fully equipped with all necessary medical supplies, and medications and consultations are provided free of charge.
This project is a continuation of 25 years of Emirati voluntary medical efforts in Pakistan, carried out through the UAE-Pakistan Field Hospital, which has benefited over one million people under the supervision of joint UAE-Pakistani medical teams.
The initiative is implemented in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Pakistan and through a partnership between the Zayed Giving Initiative, the Sharjah Charity House, Emirates Mobile Community Clinics, and the Emirates Programme for Young Humanitarian Leaders. It serves as an innovative model for collaboration between governmental, private, and non-profit sectors in the field of community healthcare.
Dr. Adel Al Shameri, Emirati heart surgeon and CEO of the Zayed Giving initiative, stated that the intensification of clinic operations coincides with the 'Year of the Community' and aims to recruit and train medical professionals to empower them to play their humanitarian role in serving underprivileged communities.
He explained that the UAE-Pakistan medical programme is based on four key pillars: the Pakistan Readiness Programme to train frontline medical workers, the operation of mobile clinics, the organisation of scientific forums for knowledge exchange in community medicine, and the development of young medical leaders to ensure the sustainability of healthcare programmes.
Sultan Al Khayal, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Charity House, emphasised that the mobile clinics are a practical solution for residents of remote villages who find it difficult to access hospitals. He noted that the 2025 plan includes coverage of over 20 Pakistani villages as part of a sustainable operational strategy.
Dr. Mumtaz Al Balooshi, Medical Director of the UAE-Pakistan Mobile Clinics, said the clinics focus on early detection programmes and free treatment, especially for chronic heart diseases. He confirmed that cooperation between Emirati and Pakistani medical teams contributes to delivering effective healthcare services to low-income patients.
Al Jouri Al Ajmi, Director of the Emirates Programme for Young Humanitarian Leaders, stated that work is underway to expand the geographic coverage of the clinics and the field hospital to reach more villages, in collaboration with local partners and the UAE Embassy in Pakistan.
Residents of the Pakistani villages expressed their gratitude for the UAE's efforts in providing free healthcare, praising the quality of services that have alleviated their suffering. They affirmed that this initiative embodies the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as the UAE's wise leadership continues to promote a global culture of humanitarian and volunteer work.

Financial & Operational Highlights Across Healthcare (Care) and Insurance (Cover) Verticals: The Care Vertical was the largest contributor to revenue during the period, accounting for 72% of the Group's top-line at AED 9.8 billion in revenue, up 7% year-on-year in H1 2025. This growth witnessed across several segments, including Hospitals, Diagnostics, and Technology. Performance in UAE and UK was driven by a 13% increase in outpatient volumes to 4.4 million visits, and a 7% rise in inpatient volumes to 108,000 visits across the Hospitals vertical. In the UAE, this growth was supported by expanded service offerings, increased specialist capacity, and growing demand across SEHA and SSMC networks. In the UK, Circle Health saw increased patient volumes and further strengthened its position through the successful bolt on acquisition of Fairfield Independent Hospital in the Merseyside. The acquisition will expand inpatient capacity and available medical staff, which will ultimately support Circle Health's continued growth in high-demand regions. While Procurement revenue decreased 5% year-on-year to AED 2.6 billion in H1 2025, Rafed has continued expansion of its supplier network. Its recent appointed role as the exclusive distributor for the Abu Dhabi government's Unified Purchasing Programme, has since strengthened its position as a central enabler within the Group's healthcare delivery model. PureLab recorded a 19% year-on-year increase in total testing volume, reaching 16.9 million tests. This strong performance was largely fuelled by enhanced contributions from SEHA and the successful integration of the SSMC laboratory into the PureLab network. The Technology Services reported exceptional growth, with revenue increasing 170% year-on-year to AED 367 million in H1-2025. This was driven by the continued expansion of PureCS, which deployed digital infrastructure and clinical technology solutions across the Group's entities. The Pura app surpassed 620,000 users during the period, while the Group's broader technology backbone is enabling predictive analytics, digital patient engagement, and AI-enhanced care delivery. UAE is a preferred partner in the AI race, says US Interior Secretary
Doug Burgum, the US Interior Secretary and chairman of America's Energy Dominance Council, has praised the country's relationship with the UAE in areas including the rapidly developing field of artificial intelligence. 'You've got a trusted relationship … mutual investment in protecting each other in terms of defence,' Mr Burgum said in On The Record with Hadley Gamble. 'A 1-2-3 agreement on nuclear. I mean, there's a number of things where you'd say, hey, there's great alignment to make this happen.' In an exclusive interview, the chairman of President Donald Trump 's Energy Dominance Council said that while the promised $1.4 trillion in UAE investment in the US was welcome, it is the opportunity to future-proof AI infrastructure that he is most excited about. "I think one of the ideas that all countries [have] is how do they have a sovereign AI factory?' Mr Burgum said. "How do you make sure that if you're producing intelligence, that that intelligence supports the values that you're trying to drive as a country, as opposed to the bias that might be in someone else's algorithm or models?' With the complexity of data sovereignty likely to dictate much of the decision-making process when it comes to building out AI infrastructure, the choice of partnership nations is more important than ever. 'The UAE is a country that's got a great alignment with the United States in terms of a set of values, our economic visions, in terms of the potential for partnership, with a tremendous amount of capital to invest through their various sovereign wealth funds,' Mr Burgum said, all crucial factors in aligning on AI. Beyond the energy imperative, Mr Burgum said: 'When you're on that piece of soil, you follow the rules of the home country. In the same way we've built embassies abroad … there's an opportunity for people that have rich energy resources and stable governments to be able to say, 'hey, alongside your embassy let's build an AI data centre'. That means that's your [sovereign] data, that's your land. And you're protecting it." As countries and companies look to adapt to data sovereignty and the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, building out infrastructure in the right places is crucial. 'The UAE is definitely one of those,' Mr Burgum said. 'I think ... people would say, 'hey, this would be a great place, because you've got a trusted relationship'."
