They were married for 12 years and share three children
Fichera is a producer and freelance cameraman for NBC NewsDylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera are calling it quits.
On July 18, the Today meteorologist announced her separation from Fichera on Instagram.
"For many years, I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between," Dreyer wrote. "I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you've given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate."
She continued, "We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another."
The pair began dating while working at the same Boston news station and married in 2012, the same year Dreyer began working as a co-anchor for Weekend Today. After making a move from Boston to New York together, they became parents to three boys: Calvin Bradley, Oliver George and Russell James.
Dreyer now serves as the co-anchor of Today's third hour, while Fichera is a producer and freelance cameraman for NBC News.
So, who is Dylan Dreyer's estranged husband? Here's everything to know about Brian Fichera and his split from the Today meteorologist.
He is a producer
Fichera grew up in Easton, Mass., about an hour outside of Boston. He works for NBC News as a producer and freelance cameraman.
Dreyer and Fichera met at work
The pair met during the morning shift at NBC's Boston affiliate station, WHDH. At the time, Dreyer was working there as a meteorologist, and Fichera was an in-studio technician.
He proposed to Dreyer in 2011
In July 2011, Fichera popped the question on the front porch of his parents' house in Easton. 'When I saw there were roses and two glasses of champagne, I knew,'' she told Boston.com.
After he proposed, the pair walked through the house, where their friends and family were waiting in the backyard to celebrate their engagement.
Dreyer and Fichera married in 2012
Dreyer and Fichera married at The Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston on Oct. 6, 2012, one month after she began working as a co-anchor on Weekend Today. While the couple enjoyed their entire special day, their first dance stood out as a particularly special memory.
'At the end of our wedding the DJ asked Brian what song to play last. Brian just randomly said 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay," she recalled to PEOPLE.
Dreyer added, 'We have no connection to the song but it was absolutely perfect. I tied up my long dress and he just spun me around the dance floor."
He shares three children with Dreyer
On Dec. 17, 2016, Fichera and Dreyer welcomed their first son, Calvin Bradley.
After experiencing a miscarriage and secondary infertility, the couple announced in July 2019 they were expanding their family once again. Dreyer revealed the news exclusively to PEOPLE while in her second trimester and 'past the point of worrying much about miscarriage' since their genetic testing 'went well.'
'[The baby] continues to grow healthy and strong each day,' the star said of her little one on the way. 'I'm so excited for Calvin to have a little [sibling]; he sort of understands what's going on but when you ask him about the baby, he says he wants to pet it. So we'll see!'
Oliver George arrived on Jan. 2, 2020. "All I do is stare at him," the new mother of two said during her Today call-in after his arrival. "I just want to kiss him every second. And he's got a ton of hair."
In May 2021, she shared on an episode of Today that baby number three would be arriving that fall. Her trio of boys was complete when baby Russell James was born six weeks early on Sept. 29, 2021.
During a virtual appearance on Today after his birth, she shared that the newborn's nickname would be Rusty and shared the special meaning behind his name — Russell is Fichera's dad's name, and James is her own father's name.
"We finally worked in a family connection. Both our dads started crying when we told them," she shared. "It's just been really special. I can't believe I was going to have to wait until November to meet him, and he's here and healthy."
Dreyer announced her split from Fichera in July 2025
After 12 years of marriage, Dreyer announced her separation from Fichera in a July 18 post on Instagram.
"Dylan and Brian remain best friends, and they are committed to coparenting and putting their three children first," a source later told PEOPLE.

6-Year-Old Boy Covered in Bruises After Giant Octopus Grabbed His Arm and Wouldn't Let Go at a Texas Aquarium

The child's bruises could last between seven and 14 days, the San Antonio Aquarium saidNEED TO KNOW A six-year-old boy is covered in bruises after an octopus grabbed his arm and wouldn't let go The incident took place at the San Antonio Aquarium in Texas on July 14 The child's mother has spoken out about the situation on TikTokA 6-year-old boy was injured after an octopus grabbed his arm and wouldn't let go. Britney Taryn, the child's mom, spoke about the situation that took place during a July 14 visit to the San Antonio Aquarium in a TikTok video. According to Taryn, the giant Pacific octopus attached itself to her son Leo's arm while he was at a touch tank. She added that she and her child had visited the aquarium before, and even met the same sea creature in the past. The San Antonio Aquarium did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment, nor did Taryn. In the social media video shared by Taryn, her son's arm can be seen covered in small, dark purple suction bruises, going from his wrist to his armpit. "My son is very level-headed when it comes to animals, so when he had his arm in there, and he starts saying, 'Mom, it's not letting me go — and way too calmly — 'I'm like, 'Oh, okay.' So I'm helping him get down from the step and trying to pull him away from the octopus, and that octopus is not letting go," she said. Taryn continued, "The octopus starts coming out of the tank, and the reason we don't have pictures or videos of this is because my friend was also freaking out." Following the incident, the San Antonio Aquarium posted a video on TikTok on July 26, highlighting the bruises the specific octopus can leave behind — and how they can last between seven to 14 days. "So there's around 200 suction cups per arm. And as they grow ... they will actually shed their suction cup," an aquarium employee said in the clip. The aquarium added that the giant Pacific octopus can lift up to 700 pounds. In a follow-up video, Taryn said she is working to campaign for safer and more comfortable living conditions for this animal, as well as others in similar situations. The mother added that she reached out to the San Antonio Aquarium and asked them to formally document the incident, and to provide an accessible explanation of the aquarium's safety protocols for when visitors interact with animals. Taryn, claimed in the video, however, that she had not heard back from the Texas-based establishment. Read the original article on People

Trading Cards, Chaos, and Bingo at The National Sports Collectors Convention

Trade Night is where the hobby comes alive - and this year, it got a new twist. Trade Night has been a staple at The National Sports Collectors Convention for years. With experiences that touch trading, live breaks, brand activations, and giveaways, showgoers are treated to a one-of-a-kind event that captures everything unique about collecting. This year's experience added to the magic with a new segment called Mantel Bingo. What is Mantel Bingo? Mantel Bingo is an interactive collectibles game hosted live on the main stage at Trade Night. But this isn't your typical Bingo - it's infused with trading cards. A Mantel rep randomly selects a card theme - like a specific athlete, team, or category. If you own a card that fits, you check the box. First to five in a row wins. How Did Mantel Bingo Play Out? The energy was electric. Kids packed the front of the stage, screaming for a win. A Mantel rep stood at center stage, calling out card themes - everything from cards with animal prints to Johnny Manziel rookies. Some of them? Insanely tough. The crowd was scrambling through their binders and boxes to find five in a row. At one point, kids at the front started teaming up - combining their collections and agreeing to split the prizes. It brought out the best of what collecting is all about. When someone finally won, a loud 'BINGO' rang out from the stage. Winners received prizing like hobby boxes, blasters, and exclusive packs. In my opinion, it's the most fun your kids can have at The National. And while the live game only ran during Trade Night, Mantel Bingo kept going digitally, with collectors across the show floor playing along on their phones. Whether you played on stage or from the show floor, Mantel Bingo proved one thing - collecting is just more fun when you play together. If you're passionate about collecting, make sure to check out Mantel, the social network built for collectors.

Woman Spends 'Months' Getting Kids on Bedtime Schedule, but Is 'Back to Square One' After Mother-in-Law's Disastrous Visit

"She thankfully leaves tonight to go back home but the damage will be lasting," the woman writes on RedditNEED TO KNOW A woman says her mother-in-law's recent visit has caused her kids' entire sleep schedule to change In a post on Reddit, she writes that her mother-in-law didn't stick to the children's schedule and, as a result, they've been staying up well past their bedtime for nearly a week Now, the woman worries the damage will be "lasting"A woman says her mother-in-law's recent visit has ruined her kids' sleep schedule — and it may take months for things to get back to normal. In a post on Reddit, the woman writes that her mother-in-law recently came over for an "out of the blue" visit, spending her week-long vacation in their living room. "MIL bragged about wanting to take care of the kids 24/7 the entire week," she writes. "That lasted about an hour until she got tired of playing. Which. Fine. They're my kids but don't promise something you can't hold your word on." The poster made her kids' bedtime schedule very clear, explaining that "6pm is dinner time, 6:30 is wind down time and 7 is bath, pajamas and book time then 8 is when they're in bed for the night." However, her mother-in-law "wasn't okay" with that timing and "both kids stayed up until 4am because she refused to quiet down." "From that day forward she refused to let the kids go to bed at their bedtime. Stayed loud during quiet hours," she writes. "It took me months to get this routine to work. And now it's back to square one," the mom adds. "And she doesn't care. She's never cared about anyone but herself." While the poster told her fiancé that she doesn't want his mom in their house anymore, the matriarch had "nowhere else to go." The mother-son duo also "got into an argument" about the situation, leading to even more tension. "She thankfully leaves tonight to go back home but the damage will be lasting. My 5yr old won't be as hard but my almost 3 yr old (turns 3 in less than 2 days) is going to be a nightmare. She's the reason I started taking bedtime so seriously because she won't sleep. Ever," she adds. Other parents are weighing in on the situation, with one writing, "After the first night of her disrupting your kids routine, I honestly would have said to her that this visit isn't working out and she can either pay to stay in a hotel for the remainder of the week or she can go home. It's up to her but those are her choices." Read the original article on People Solve the daily Crossword
