Prabhas 'Threatened To Kill' Vishnu Manchu For THIS Reason; Kannappa Actor Reveals
Last Updated:
In a recent interview, Vishnu Manchu revealed that Prabhas and Mohanlal did Kannappa for free and did not charge any money.
Vishnu Manchu is currently gearing up for the release of his next movie, Kannappa. Also starring Prabhas and Mohanlal in the lead, the film is reportedly made on a budget of over Rs 200 crore. However, do you know that Vishnu did not pay even a single penny to either of these stars for his film?
In a recent interview, Vishnu Manchu revealed that Prabhas and Mohanlal did Kannappa for free and did not charge any money. He expressed gratitude towards them and told SCREEN, 'Two people helped me greatly to make the film what it is today: Mohanlal and Prabhas. Mohanlal is such great superstar, he didn't really have to do a small role in my film, but due to his love and respect for my father, he agreed to do the role in less than a minute."
'Secondly, Prabhas. He is a great friend of mine. He is not just one of the biggest stars in India but Asia. He too didn't have to do this role. But after I confessed to him that I would need his presence for a greater reach of my film, he agreed immediately. He didn't even care to listen to his role in the film," he added.
The actor further mentioned that Prabhas even threatened to kill him for offering him a fee for his work. 'Both Prabhas and Mohanlal didn't take a single penny to do the role. Every time I ask them to quote their fees, they would yell at me. They will say: 'Itne bade aadmi hogaye ho ki humein paise doge?' Mohanlal said you grew up around me and today you dare to pay me for my work? Prabhas threatened to kill me," he said.
Vishnu also revealed that while Prabhas and Mohanlal did not charge any money, Akshay Kumar also charged far less than his standard fees.
Kannappa delves deep into our history, bringing to life the extraordinary journey of Kannappa Nayanar, a revered Shaivite saint known for his unyielding devotion to Lord Shiva. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by M. Mohan Babu, Kannappa is set to be a cinematic marvel, blending traditional storytelling with cutting-edge technology to create an awe-inspiring visual spectacle. The film is set to be released worldwide on 25th April 2025.

Allahabad HC stays arrest of music producer Sunil Yadav in kidnapping case
According to the prosecution, Anupama was in love with Sunil Yadav, and they were going to get married in April this year. A two-judge bench comprising Justice Siddhartha and Justice Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra also issued notice to Sushmita Yadav, a sister of the alleged victim, Anupama Yadav. Prayagraj, Jun 3 (PTI) The Allahabad High Court has stayed the arrest of music producer Sunil Yadav, who was booked allegedly for kidnapping a woman whom he had signed for an album, a court official said on Tuesday. On February 19, Sunil Yadav came to Anupama's house and said he had to go to Nepal for wedding shopping. He took Anupama in a car, a Mahindra Scorpio. After two hours, Surya Kumar Yadav, Sunil's brother, got a call from Anupama, who told him Sunil was not taking her to Nepal, but to Bihar. After the call, her mobile phone became unavailable. On February 22, around 9 am, Sunil Yadav told Sushmita over the phone that Anupama was not with him. Sushmita has since alleged that Sunil Yadav has either sold her sister, aged 25, or murdered her. Sunil Yadav alleged that the two sisters ran a blackmail racket. According to his counsel, Sunil Yadav had given Anupama a role in an album and paid her around Rs 6 lakh. But she refused to work on the album, and subsequently fabricated the kidnapping story, he claimed. On February 23, Sunil Yadav was booked under sections 87 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her marriage, etc) of BNS at the Kotwali Police Station in Deoria district.
