Popular 2000s country artist loses younger brother in Texas floods
Green's young brother John, his wife, Julia, and two of their children were swept away by the flood in Kerrville, KCEN-TV reported.
'Over the weekend, during the devastating flooding that hit Central Texas, my family — like so many others — suffered a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss," Green wrote in an Instagram post on Monday, July 7.
'We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy. Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other, and begin to process what comes next for our family,' Green wrote. 'Thank you for love, prayers and compassion.'
The singer's wife, Kori, confirmed the family members' deaths in a separate Instagram post.
'We are heartbroken and anxiously waiting for all of them to be found,' she wrote. 'Thank you for your prayers.'
Green's brother and his wife were staying in an RV with two of their sons before the flooding, KCEN-TV reported.
Loved ones told the outlet that John was later found dead. Julia was also said to be recovered on Monday. KCEN-TV said the search for the boys was still underway.
'Praying for peace and comfort for y'all during this absolutely devastating tragedy,' a comment on Green's Instagram post reads.
'Anything at all that you need brother,' another comment read. 'We are here for you and your family.'
At least 120 people have died in the floods since the July 4 disaster, the Associated Press reported. Authorities are also still searching for more than 170 people who are missing. The raging flash floods are among the nation's worst in decades.

AEW is running back All In Texas' main event on TV, with a new wrinkle
After AEW World champion Hangman Page bloodied up Death Rider Wheeler Yuta in the opening match of this week's Dynamite, Jon Moxley had a message for the man who beat him for the belt in a Deathmatch at All In Texas. Mox wanted to make it clear that while he tips his cap to Page for winning the main event of AEW's big PPV, he doubts that Hangman can do it again and again, day after day as he has during his World title runs. The chief Death Rider wants a rematch, and he knows a fighting champ like Hanger won't turn him down... especially after Marina Shafir calls him 'soft' to end the segment. After Mark Briscoe beat Claudio Castagnoli in tonight's main event, the Riders did what they often do and attacked him. Dropping Briscoe gut first on the legs of a steel chair wasn't Mox's endgame, however. That was to get Page to come out. He did, and accepted the rematch for next week's Dynamite. But as Hangman is champ and Moxley challenger this time, he gets to pick the stipulation. And that is for everyone but a referee to be banned from ringside. Before Page was done walking back up the ramp, Tony Khan made it official for July 30 in Chicago. Like it? Get complete results from tonight's Dynamite here. Matthew Perry's Doctor ‘Profoundly Remorseful,' Dabs Eyes as Guilty Plea Finalized
Dr. Salvador Plasencia, the physician who provided Matthew Perry with a lethal dose of ketamine, finalized his guilty plea on Wednesday and shared that he is immensely regretful of his involvement in the actor's tragic death. 'While Dr. Plasencia was not treating Mr. Perry at the time of his death, he hopes his case serves as a warning to other medical professionals and leads to stricter oversight and clear protocols for the rapidly growing at-home ketamine industry in order to prevent future tragedies like this one,' Plasencia's lawyer, Karen L. Goldstein, said in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. According to the report, 'Plasencia dabbed his face repeatedly with a cloth' as prosecutors detailed the charges against him. The paper also noted that the physician plans to relinquish his medical license within the next 30 to 45 days. Last month, Plasencia, who is one of five people who have been charged in Perry's October 2023 death, agreed to plead guilty to distributing ketamine to the 'Friends' star. Plasencia now faces up to 40 years in prison after he was charged with four counts of ketamine distribution, including conspiracy to distribute ketamine and other related offenses. He will remain out on bail until his sentencing hearing which is scheduled for Dec. 3. His Calabasas-based urgent care clinic remains open but now requires patients to sign waivers acknowledging the charges against him. He is the fourth person to plead guilty in regard to Perry's death. The others are Dr. Mark Chavez, the actor's personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa and 'street dealer' Erik Fleming. Jasveen Sangha (a.k.a. 'The Ketamine Queen') has pleaded not guilty and is headed to trial in August. Perry was found dead in his hot tub on Oct. 28, 2023. His cause of death was ruled a ketamine overdose with drowning as a factor. He was post Matthew Perry's Doctor 'Profoundly Remorseful,' Dabs Eyes as Guilty Plea Finalized appeared first on TheWrap.
