Civil Protection Denies Fire at Ceramica Cleopatra Mall in October City
Civil Protection authorities in Giza have denied reports circulating on social media about a fire breaking out at Ceramica Cleopatra Mall in the 6th of October City.
In an official statement, the October Fire Department confirmed that the incident did not occur inside the mall, but involved a minor fire in waste materials adjacent to the Cleopatra Ceramica Mall, near Hyper One on the Central Axis Road.
'Fire crews were dispatched immediately following a report of smoke in the area,' the department said. 'Upon inspection, it was determined that the flames had engulfed a pile of discarded materials near the mall's perimeter—not inside the commercial facility itself.'
The fire was swiftly brought under control, and no injuries or property damage were reported, according to the fire department.
Images published by Sada El-Balad early Sunday morning show Ceramica Mall completely intact, countering misleading reports spread on various websites and social media platforms overnight.
Authorities urged the public to rely on verified sources for information and avoid spreading unconfirmed news that could incite unnecessary panic.

Second 160-plus aid truck convoy carrying aid enters starving Gaza in 48 hours: Al-Qahera News - War on Gaza
161 Aid trucks carrying flour, baby formula, and food supplies entered the Gaza Strip late on Thursday through dawn Friday via the Zikim crossing in the northern strip and Karm Abu Salem crossing in the southern strip, according to Al-Qahera News. The aid shipment, the second of its size since Wednesday, came amid wide global condemnation of Israel's starvation policies in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in a famine for over two million Palestinians in Gaza. On Friday, the Palestinian health ministry said nine more died of malnutrition, raising the death toll of Palestinians who lost their lives due to hunger in July to 49. Since 1 March, as part of its genocidal war on Gaza, Israel imposed an all-out blockade on the strip, preventing any food, water or medical supplies from entering the territory. Since May, Israeli troops have killed nearly 1,000 aid-seekers at US/Israeli so-called humanitarian aid centres distributing flour. The population had no access to meat, poultry, fish, or milk for nearly five months. The Israeli partial lift of the all-out blockade on Gaza in the past 48 hours comes amid mounting international pressure on Israel over the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the strip, as images of tens of dead or near-death emaciated people in Gaza, including children, have sent shivers down the spines of millions around the world. The UN has previously estimated that 600-800 humanitarian aid trucks are needed daily to keep the Gaza population alive. Aid groups have continued to warn of surging numbers of malnourished children amid the Israeli blockade. On Thursday, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said that a quarter of the young children and pregnant or breastfeeding mothers it had screened at its clinics last week were malnourished, a day after the United Nations said one in five children in Gaza City were suffering from malnutrition. 166 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entered Gaza overnight - War on Gaza
166 aid trucks entered Gaza on Wednesday through dawn Thursday through the Zikim crossing in the northern strip Gaza and Karm Abu Salem in the southern strip, according to Qahera News. The aid includes shipments of flour, food, and medical supplies. The aid shipments are the largest since Israel imposed an all-out blockade on the strip on 1 March, which pushed most of the 2.3 million Palestinians into a famine. They come amid widespread condemnation by dozens of international aid organisations and Western and Arab countries of the Israeli policies of starving the Palestinians in Gaza, as images of tens of dead, emaciated people, including children, shocked millions around the world. On Thursday, 180 trucks of various aid are expected to enter the Gaza Strip, including 137 trucks carrying flour and the rest food supplies. Al-Qahera News added that Egypt is intensifying its efforts with all international parties to bring more aid into the Gaza Strip during the current period. The Egyptian Red Crescent is increasing its readiness to provide more aid to Gaza in the coming hours, added the Egyptian news outlet. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
