So the airline's news that it has launched flights to a stunning coastal destination comes at the perfect time for those who are already looking ahead.
Holidaygoers will now be able to fly directly from Edinburgh to Malaga through easyJet for the first time this winter.
This means that Scots will now have a direct route to Spain's southern coast as the country gets battered with snow, rain and wind.
Spain's sun-drenched Costa del Sol, Málaga, offers the perfect blend of relaxation, culture, and adventure.
From its bustling port and palm-lined promenades to hilltop castles and cutting-edge art galleries, the city is a dynamic mix of old and new.
And travellers can explore ancient Moorish architecture at the Alcazaba, browse contemporary exhibits at the Centre Pompidou, or take a day trip to nearby whitewashed villages in the Andalusian hills.

Since it has a mild winter climate, lively tapas bars, and easy access to both coast and countryside, it is an ideal choice for beach lovers, culture seekers, and weekend explorers alike.
Flights to Malaga are scheduled to take off on October 28, kicking off a seasonal service that will run twice a week.
Holidaygoers will have the choice of flying on Tuesdays and Saturdays, meaning it is perfect for a long weekend getaway.
Fares for the new flights start from £40.99 per journey.

Both customers and independent travel agents will also be able to book package holidays to the top destination.
Prices for this will start from just £267 per person.
All package holidays to Malaga from Edinburgh include flights, hotel, 23kg luggage and transfers, and are all covered by easyJet holidays' Ultimate Flexibility.
Sophie Dekkers, easyJet's Chief Commercial Officer, said: 'It's fantastic to be able to offer our customers yet another new winter route from Edinburgh to the vibrant Málaga in Spain.
"Whether they're seeking a sun-soaked beach escape, a cultural city break, or simply a relaxing long weekend on Spain's Costa del Sol.
'This is the fifth new winter route we've added to our Scottish network this year, as we continue to provide even more connectivity for our customers in Scotland, along with a fantastic service and great value fares.'
Jonny Macneal, Edinburgh Airport's Head of Aviation, added: "Winter doesn't need to mean rain and sleet when you have some fantastic options for sunshine, such as easyJet's new route to Malaga.
"We know there are always passengers looking to escape to sunnier climates during our winter period.
"So it's great to be able to work with our airline partners to offer them that choice."

Campers even turn up at the loch armed with generators, gazebos and a flatbed truck with its own fresh water supply. Locals have also reported incidents of nudity and say the area is littered with hypodermic needles. Emma Crichton told how the behaviour makes her "miserable" and worries about selling her home due to the problems. She fumed: "Earlier this month, there was a flatbed truck with a fresh water supply on it for three generations of campers who were there for 10 days with a generator with loud music. "I have people wandering into my garden asking if they can park there, people coming in and asking if they can use my loo. "We have people having raves, it's like a music festival. "I'm not a shrinking violet. I like a drink and I like loud music, but it's intolerable and I don't feel safe." "I bought that house because it's in a very beautiful area. I really considered selling up, but I can't lie to people. "It's absolutely insane that there are no consequences for these people." Brazen camper pitches up tent outside home on NC500 Meanwhile, another visitor compared the filthy site to Skid Row in Los Angeles, known for its violence and drug activity. Taking to the Loch of Clunie Facebook page, he said: "Drunks everywhere - one or two being quite aggressive. "Rubbish everywhere. Maybe half a dozen cars abandoned with parking tickets on them. Stayed for five minutes and left." Strathtay Councillor Ian James described the situation as an "absolute nightmare" for locals. He said: "Every weekend, actually most of time in summer, we're getting inundated with people who are pitching up with their vehicles, pitching tents and just leaving the place in an awful state when they've left. "They're putting up with loud music and drunken behaviour. Although it's a beautiful area, it's just not a nice place to be when it's like that." Perth and Kinross Council was approached for comment.

Brits warned as 'disgraceful' silent tourist tax exposed in city break hotspot

British tourists heading over to one of the most popular cities in Europe have been warned over sly tactics many restaurants use to make foreigners spend more money UK holidaymakers have been urged to watch out for sneaky fees that could end up wreaking havoc on their finances. Last year, a whopping 48.7 million tourists flocked to the French city of Paris and its surrounding areas - marking a two per cent increase compared to 2023. Unable to resist the charm of strolling along the Seine, watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle, and eating their body weight in pastries and cheese - the iconic city is expecting an even stronger tourism rebound this year. ‌ As romantic and enchanting as Paris may be, there's no denying it's an expensive city - one that can easily break the bank if you're not careful. Of course, avoiding fancy restaurants and luxury hotels may help keep the price down. ‌ ‌ Spanish hotspot's brutal 2-word warning as Brits threatened with £648 fine However, there's also a secret tourist tax that's recently been unearthed. It comes after one local pretended to be a visitor from the United States to see whether dining out is really a set price for all. Local media outlet Le Parisien sent two journalists to a well-known eatery in the city to see whether they'd be charged the same for their identical order. It comes after the publication spotted a slew of complaints from international tourists online, arguing that waiters use sly tactics to get them to pay more. ‌ Writer Mathiew Hennequin was disguised as an American tourist, donned in a baseball cap and an Eiffel Tower t-shirt, while Marc (who uses the alias Radin Malin, pretended to be a domestic tourist. The pair requested the same order: a lasagna, soda, and water. The 'American tourist' was offered Coke in 'Medium' or 'Large' size, but after choosing 'Medium' was given a huge pint of Coke for €9.50. He was also charged €6 for a bottle of water. However, the French guinea pig received a can of Coke for just €6.50 and was provided with a free carafe of water, paying €9.50 less than the fake Yankee. ‌ In the same restaurant, the server offered the reporters 'garlic bread' without specifying that it was extra - but ended up charging the American €6 for the privilege. In another restaurant, the 'American' was told that service wasn't included as part of the bill - which Franck Trouet of hotel and restaurant group GHR claims is 'obviously false'. The boss branded the findings a 'disgrace', adding: "You can't even call these people waiters. You should know that in France, water and bread are free. One can refuse a bottle of water. The tip is to express thanks for the service if one is very satisfied: above all, it is not compulsory. This is not the United States." In both cases, the bill for the fake American tourist was 50 per cent more than that of the French customer. While this investigation didn't use any reporters pretending to be British, it's worth being careful when ordering food and drinks in the city to make sure you're not being overcharged.

Horror moment American Airlines plane bursts into flames as passengers flee

Passengers abandoned the American Airlines plane via an inflatable emergency slide amid chaotic scenes at Denver International Airport, with some needing hospital treatment This is the horrifying moment an American Airlines plane burst into flames as passengers fled the aircraft. ‌ At least one person is understood to have been injured when a plane was forced to abort its take-off from Denver Airport, in Colorado, due to landing gear failure. Passengers fled the smoking aircraft with an inflatable emergency slide being deployed in the chaotic scenes on Saturday. ‌ Video showed passengers frantically sliding down as thick black smoke billowed from the back left side of the plane. The Denver Fire Department said in a social media post at 5:10pm local time that it had extinguished the fire. ‌ American Airlines Flight 3023 reported a landing gear incident as it took off for Miami at about 2:45pm, the Federal Aviation Administration said. According to 9News, an air traffic controller could be heard telling the pilot in cockpit audio: "Flight 3023, you got a lot of smoke. The airline added all 173 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated from the plane. Six people were checked for minor injuries with one being transported to a local hospital after getting off the plane. ‌ "All customers and crew deplaned safely, and the aircraft was taken out of service to be inspected by our maintenance team," an American Airlines spokesperson said. "We thank our team members for their professionalism and apologize to our customers for their experience." Denver International Airport said: "This afternoon, DEN First Responders and the Denver Fire Department responded to a reported issue with an American Airlines flight (AA3023, DEN-MIA) on a runway. Those on board are now off the aircraft." ‌ In another post, it added: "Update: Five people were evaluated on scene and not transported. One person was evaluated at a gate and was transported." It comes after an easyJet flight leaving Gatwick Airport was forced to divert back to the airport after take off yesterday. Shortly before 4.30pm an easyJet flight bound for Bastia, on the French island of Corsica was forced to return to Gatwick, a spokesperson for the airport confirmed. An easyJet spokesperson said: "easyJet can confirm that flight EZY8461 from Gatwick to Bastia today (26 July) returned to Gatwick and requested a priority landing on arrival into London Gatwick due to a technical issue. The aircraft landed normally and was met by emergency services purely as a precautionary measure in line with procedures, and all passengers disembarked normally. "A replacement aircraft and crew has been arranged for passengers to continue their journey to Bastia today. The safety of our customers and crew is easyJet's highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers' guidelines.'
