Amazon Deals of the Day: Take 35% Off This Already Affordable and Portable Anker Speaker
Today, we found the Anker Soundcore 2 speaker for over 30% off. We also found the Bostitch electric pencil sharpener for almost half off, perfect for back to school. And finally, we spotted the KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer for a nice $120 off.
Having a portable speaker can make a world of difference, especially during the summer. Whether you're going to the beach, having a cookout or even just doing chores at home, it's always more fun with some music. Anker's SoundCore 2 is a popular mini Bluetooth speaker, and loved by many at CNET. The Anker SoundCore 2 gives you better than average sound, is water-resistant and has strong battery life of up to 24 hours. There's also a built-in microphone for speakerphone calls. It also has a pretty good range of up to 66 feet, so you don't necessarily have to move it from room to room to stay connected.
This speaker is normally listed at $45, which is already an affordable price for a solid Bluetooth speaker. But right now, Prime members can score one for just $29, a nice 35% discount or $16 savings. Keep in mind, this deal is only for the black color and only available to Prime members.
Unfortunately for many, back-to-school season is already on the horizon. Even though most schools use iPads and laptops for the majority of things, it doesn't mean we're done with pencils completely. Whether you're a teacher or a student, having a pencil sharpener is very handy. And one that's electric is a real game changer. Bostitch electric pencil sharpener is compact enough to fit on your desk. It's made with an HHC cutter, giving you four times longer cutting life sharpening. There's also a safety switch for those working with younger students. Plus the shavings tray is pretty big, so you don't have to constantly clean it out.
This pencil sharpener is usually priced at $20. But this almost half-off discount saves you $9, brining the price to just $11. It's the perfect back-to-school addition, and it's at a record-low price right now.
No kitchen is complete without a stand mixer. There are tons of options out there but our top pick stand mixer of 2025 is the KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-quart tilt head stand mixer. It has 10 settings that you can pick from based on what your needs are. It can hold five-quarts of ingredients, perfect for making a large quantity. Not to mention it's compatible with tons of attachments such as a paddle, whisk, dough hook, pouring shield, ice cream maker, meat grinder, pasta roller, spiralizer and more. It also comes in tons of colors so you can pick what matches your kitchen best.
This high-standard mixer comes with a high price tag of $500. But for a limited time, you can pick one up for $380. That's a significant savings of $120, so don't miss out.
With so many deals on Amazon, deciding which ones are worth your money can be difficult. But CNET's combed through what the world's largest online retailer has to offer and gathered the best deals for you to check out.

Aura's Aspen impressive digital frame is the most affordable it's been
Returning to work or school from summer vacation is never easy, but the Aura Aspen could help you hold onto your favorite memories by putting them front and center. And right now, you can pick up the digital photo frame for around $199 ($30 off) from Amazon, Best Buy, and Aura, which is a new low price. The Aura Aspen digital frame lets you upload photos via the companion app, cloud services, or email from anywhere. Its 12-inch LCD display features slim bezels, a 4:3 aspect ratio, and an antiglare screen that mimics the look of real photos. For a digital photo frame, the slim, 12-inch Aura Aspen looks remarkably traditional. My colleague Jennifer Pattison Tuohy found its paper-textured, anti-glare matte display and 1600 x 1200 resolution makes pictures appear sharp and lifelike, while the 4:3 aspect ratio means most smartphone shots should fit perfectly. It even comes with its own adjustable metal stand that looks like one you'd find on a regular photo frame. But unlike a normal photo frame, this one could be a gift that lets you keep on giving. Like other Aura digital photo frames, you can update it anytime with new photos, whether you're sending pics of the grandkids to mom's frame or beaming a college student the latest pictures of the family pet. Just upload pictures via the companion app available on iOS and Android, sync them automatically via iCloud Photos or Google Photos, or email them and they'll appear. What's more, you can also add text captions, display Live Photos from your iPhone, and even showcase 30-second videos that play sound. Gold and bitcoin are both vying to be safe havens for investors. Why gold is winning so far this year.
Gold futures scored another record high Friday — with the precious metal extending its lead over bitcoin this year and, despite some volatility, reinforcing its status as the go-to safe haven in uncertain times. While both assets have rallied in 2025 and repeatedly notched fresh highs, gold has pulled ahead even after paring gains Friday afternoon. Gold futures GC00 rose earlier in the day after the U.S. ruled that 1-kilogram and 100-ounce gold bars would be subject to tariffs, but trimmed gains after reports said the Trump administration planned to clarify that imported gold bars would be exempt. Trade Desk's stock sees its worst drop ever, and analysts wonder if Amazon is to blame I plan to work until 80. Can I contribute to my IRA while taking RMDs? Still, gold's edge this year may reflect a broader trend where elevated geopolitical tensions and tariff concerns have given traditional risk-off assets an extra edge over newer alternatives. Crypto bulls have long pitched bitcoin BTCUSD as 'digital gold,' arguing it could eventually play a similar role. But for now, analysts say gold's legacy as a crisis hedge is prevailing. Invest in Gold Priority Gold: Up to $15k in Free Silver + Zero Account Fees on Qualifying Purchase American Hartford Gold: #1 Precious Metals Dealer in the Nation Thor Metals Group: Best Overall Gold IRA 'Gold has certainly benefited from safe-haven flows more so than cryptocurrencies like bitcoin' this year, said Rob Haworth, senior investment-strategy director at U.S. Bank Asset Management Group. He noted in a phone interview that bitcoin still tends to move in lockstep with risk assets, limiting its appeal during times of uncertainty. In particular, gold has seen strong support from global central-bank purchases, which have accelerated in response to geopolitical tensions, tariffs and other macroeconomic uncertainties this year, according to Konstantin Anissimov, chief executive at 'I think the overall theme is uncertainty. And when there is uncertainty, sovereigns flee to what they know best — an asset that has weathered the storms of millennia rather than just decades or centuries,' Anissimov said in a phone interview. In contrast with gold, no major government has adopted bitcoin as a reserve asset, though Anissimov sees strong long-term potential for it to serve as a store of value. President Donald Trump signed an executive order in March to establish a federal bitcoin reserve, though few details have emerged since. Anissimov also noted that corporations have been increasingly adding the cryptocurrency to their treasuries. The most actively traded gold futures contract settled at a record high of $3,491.30 on Friday before pulling back to $3,451.60 in electronic trade. The contract is up 30.8% year to date, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Bitcoin slipped 0.7% on Friday to around $116,511, about 5.4% below its record high of $123,165.67 set on July 14. The cryptocurrency is up 24.6% year to date. Both have outpaced U.S. stocks, with the S&P 500 SPX up 8.6% this year to date after ending Friday just a fraction shy of a record close. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA is up just 3.8% so far this year, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite COMP has rallied 11%, ending at a record high Friday. In exchange-traded funds, shares of the VanEck Gold Miners ETF GDX gained 0.2% Friday, for a 71% yearly gain, while the popular SPDR Gold Shares ETF GLD was virtually unchanged on the session but up 29% so far in 2025, according to FactSet. From a technical standpoint, short-term momentum has turned negative for bitcoin while it remains positive for gold, suggesting potential for further gains in the coming week, analysts at Currency Research Associates wrote in a report on Friday. In the longer term, Peter Eberle, president and chief investment officer at Castle Funds, said he thinks bitcoin has more upside than gold as institutional adoption grows. 'The capital flows from institutions to bitcoin are only at the beginning. Between regulatory clarity and a friendlier administration, we are in the earliest phase of institutional adoption,' Eberle said.
