José Ramírez reaches milestone, then scores winning run in Guardians' 4-3 10-inning win over Twins

CLEVELAND (AP) — Jose Ramirez became the first player in Cleveland franchise history to reach 250 career homers and 250 steals and then scored the winning run in the 10th inning as the Guardians rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday.
Ramírez's single drove in Steven Kwan to tie it at 3. Ramírez then stole second base to become the 24th player in major league history — and only active one — to reach the milestone.
After Kyle Manzardo was intentionally walked, pinch-hitter Angel Martinez hit a sharp grounder into right field to score Ramírez and give Cleveland its second walk-off win of the four-game series.
The Guardians took three games in the four-game set and went 6-4 on their 10-game homestand. There were two rain delays totaling 2 hours, 23 minutes on what was ironically Weather Education Day.
An 18-minute rain delay between the sixth and seventh innings ended up benefiting the Twins. Minnesota scored a pair of runs in the seventh and took advantage of Cleveland's fielders struggling with damp conditions.
Harrison Bader led off the inning with an infield single after Cleveland third baseman Will Wilson slipped while fielding the grounder. Bader scored on an RBI single by Christian Vazquez after Noel slipped in right center. Key moment
Cleveland had the bases loaded with one out in the ninth, but was unable to convert when Jhoan Duran struck out Bo Naylor and Kwan. Key stat
Guardians outfielder Jhonkensy Noel hit a 450-foot home run in the fifth inning. The solo shot to left-center off Simeon Woods Richardson tied his longest homer at Progressive Field and marked the 12th time since MLB Statcast started in 2015 that a Cleveland batter had gone at least 450 feet deep at home. Those offensive contributions weren't enough to keep the Mariners from coming back, though, and Jackson Kowar (1-0) from earning his first victory of the season with a perfect ninth. Rookie Cam Smith hit a tiebreaking RBI single off closer Jhoan Duran with two outs in the ninth inning to give the Houston Astros a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Duran (4-2) walked Christian Walker with one out in the ninth and he moved to third on a two-out single by Jake Meyers. Smith then singled on a grounder to center to score Meyers for his first career walkoff hit and Houston's fourth straight victory. Closer Josh Hader (3-0) struck out two in a scoreless ninth for the win. Both teams got strong performances from their starters. Houston's Hunter Brown allowed three hits and two runs with a career-high 12 strikeouts in seven innings. Minnesota's Joe Ryan yielded two hits and two runs while fanning seven in seven innings. Yainer Diaz hit a two-run homer for Houston in the third and Brooks Lee tied it with his shot in the fifth that extended his career-long hitting streak to 14 games. Bryan Abreu struck out three in a scoreless eighth for the Astros. Brown plunked Byron Buxton on the left elbow to start the sixth before walking Trevor Larnach. But he retired the next three batters, with two strikeouts to escape the jam. Buxton remained in the game for the bottom of the inning but was replaced in center field by Harrison Bader in the bottom of the seventh. The team said he had left because of a bruised left elbow. Smith's single to win it. Brown has a 1.88 ERA, which ranks second in the American League.
