Aldi to launch hot air brush that is over £37 cheaper than viral TikTok favourite
The styling tool is still a must have with over 40million views on TikTok alone. Looking to get a salon blowout from home? Then many beauty enthusiasts will recommend investing in a hot air brush. Famed for their ability to deliver smooth, voluminous styles with minimal effort, there's no wonder why the styling tool still remains hot property with over a staggering 40million views on TikTok alone. Now Aldi is joining the current hair craze trend by announcing that its very own Hot Air Brush is set to land in its middle aisle section very soon, and it will save over £37 compared to a bestseller on the market. Arriving as part of its popular Specialbuys selection on Thursday, August 21, the supermarket's hair styler will come with a price-tag of just £12.99, making it one of the cheapest options on the market. Before we get into Aldi's styling tool, it's worth noting that it is reminiscent of the TikTok-loved Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumiser that is said to be so popular it has sold over two million units. With the bestselling branded tool often costing £50 at many retailers on the high street, the budget grocer's own version will allow beauty fans join in on the trend with a decent saving of £37.01. In fact, our own Fashion & Beauty Writer Rachel Williams got her hands on the viral brush back in 2023 and confirmed it was "a game-changer for people who struggle with hair styling." Sharing how it helped her transform her flat hair with some extra volume, she said: "It is an ideal hair tool for those who are looking to save some time, while still achieving shiny hair with a bit of a boost without needing to spend money on a trip to the hairdressers." As for Aldi's upcoming Hot Air Brush, it looks to be boasting a very similar large, round-barrel shape design that will help to lift the hair from the roots to create that enviable bounce. Said to be suitable to use on wet and dry hair, alongside long and short styles, the Hot Air Brush will feature 360-degree airflow and a swivel cord, making it "the perfect fuss-free solution for flawless, wedding-day waves or sleek, photo-ready locks." Similar to the Revlon brush, it also comes with large bristles that will glide through the hair, making it suitable for smoothing, detangling and giving extra volume all at the same time. While we are sure that the Hot Air Brush will catch the eye of many hair enthusiasts, it's not the only styling tool that will be landing in stores next week. Also arriving in the Specialbuys aisle on August 21 will be the returning Ionic Hairdryer for £12.99, with the styling tool becoming a bestseller among shoppers looking for a budget friendly option that will still protect their precious tresses. Available in a choice of yellow, orange, black or white, the much-loved hairdryer comes complete with three heat settings and two speed settings to personalise the styling routine, while a cool shot helps to set styles in place. To get a salon-quality finish from home, it will come complete with a concentrator and a diffuser attachment. Aldi's Hot Air Brush and Ionic Hairdryer will land in stores from Thursday, August 21. However, as with all Specialbuys, shoppers need to act fast, as once they are gone, they are gone.

The supermarket has joined the hot air brush craze with a rock-bottom £12.99 option, and it's a total game-changer. The hot air brush is part of their Specialbuy range and can be used on both wet and dry hair. It's no surprise that the tool is making waves, with the hashtag #hotairbrush racking up over 42 million views on TikTok as everyone tries to achieve that professional blow-dry look at home. And if you need a new hairdryer to go with it, Aldi is also bringing back its bestselling Ionic Hairdryer for the same low price of £12.99. It comes with three heat settings, two speed options, a cool shot function, and overheat protection. Both the Hot Air Brush and the Ionic Hairdryer will be available in stores nationwide starting August 21st. Aldi has also launched a new skincare and beauty dupe that will have shoppers racing to stores. All upcoming 'Aldi Finds' in the middle aisle next week – including portable chargers, power toothbrushes & dryer balls The budget supermarket's new £3.99 Tanning Facial Drops promise to give a summer glow without the sun, rivalling the much more expensive Tan Luxe Illuminating Face Drops and saving you £32. But the dupe fun doesn't stop there. Aldi has also released a £1.99 Lacura Prism fragrance, which shoppers are claiming is "nearly identical" to the iconic Prada Paradoxe, which can cost upwards of £72 for a 30ml bottle. This travel-friendly scent is another budget-friendly way to get a luxury feel for less. 2 The supermarket has also launched a new £1.99 product that promises to instantly refresh your home and save you a fortune on repainting. Best supermarket whisky, picked by industry experts
From Speyside to The Dalmore, the best whiskies in the world combine expert distillation and maturation into fascinating depths of flavour. But as collectibility and scarcity drive up the prices of high-end bottles, many single-malt fans are turning to supermarkets for a dram. A shift in the market has seen whisky lovers seek out affordability rather than prestige, whether it's millennials mixing up an old fashioned or Gen Z discovering whisky sours. Though not all whiskies from supermarkets hit the mark, many are exceptional – three of Aldi's have been named among the best in the world, while Lidl has previously won gold at the World Whisky Awards. 'You can find great whisky available at almost every price point,' says Billy Abbott, author of a Philosophy of Whisky. 'While more affordable whiskies will often not have the bells and whistles of more expensive bottles, you can find great quality wherever you look.' This democratisation of whisky is partly due to some interesting changes in perception. Historically, whisky was seen as the working-class drink of choice – but the popularity of Scottish distilleries among the wealthy in the late 1800s turned it into an upper-class staple. For more than a century, whisky was regarded not only as a luxury spirit but as a fairly stodgy 'old man' drink of choice. Yet it's more popular than ever among younger generations, thanks to social media, cocktail culture and the increasing availability of high-quality whisky at affordable prices. If you want a great whisky at a fair price, you'll find it here. There are, roughly speaking, five styles of whisky: Scottish scotch, Irish whisky, American whisky, Canadian whisky and Japanese whisky. Production styles also vary across regions; we've single malts and blends, as well as cask strength and peated whiskies. Blended and Irish whiskeys have a broad appeal thanks to their smoothness, but American Bourbon has seen a surge in popularity in recent years (its sweeter flavour profile makes it a great gateway spirit). Meet the experts Joanne Gould is a freelance journalist with a decade of experience writing about food and drink. She's written about every type of whisky there is for dozens of publications, from scotch and single malt to blended and bourbon. Jonathan Hatchman Japanese whiskies, bourbon, and rye.
