Lebanese media reported that the target of the raid on a car in Bawarta was Hussein Izzat Atwi from the town of Hasbaya, Marjayoun-Al-Habbariyeh, born in 1968. He is a professor at the Lebanese University and a member of the Islamic Group.
It is worth noting that Atwi had survived an Israeli assassination attempt in January 2024 on the road to the town of Kawkaba in the south.

The Media Office condemned the systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli enemy. The office called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all journalistic bodies worldwide to condemn these "systematic crimes." Ramallah - Saba: Israeli enemy forces arrested ten Palestinian citizens early Tuesday morning during a campaign of raids in various areas of the occupied West Bank. According to the Palestinian Safa News Agency, local sources reported that Israeli enemy forces arrested Taha Hussein Ibrahim Bouzia, Mohammed Abdul Salam Al-As'ad from the town of Kafel Haris, and freed prisoner Haitham Jamal Jaber from the village of Haris, after raiding and searching their homes in the city of Salfit. In the city of Ramallah, Israeli forces arrested a young man from the town of Birzeit, north of the city, and raided several villages in the governorate. The sources reported that the forces arrested Yousef Assaf Safi after raiding his home in Birzeit and ransacking its contents. They explained that an Israeli army force raided a number of citizens' homes during raids on the village of Jifna, north of Ramallah, Beitin, east of Ramallah, and Al-Mughayyir, northeast of the city. In the city of Bethlehem, Israeli forces arrested five citizens today.
