Martín Ojeda extends goal contribution streak to 12 in Orlando City's 3-1 victory over Sporting KC
Ojeda earned his 14th assist of the season when Enrique scored for the seventh time, giving Orlando City (13-6-8) a 2-1 lead in the 76th minute. Ojeda tied Sebastian Giovinco's 12-match run for Toronto FC in 2018 for the second longest in league history. Josef Martínez set the record with a 15-match streak while playing for Atlanta United in 2019.
Newcomer Tyrese Spicer needed just two minutes to score and give Orlando City the lead after weather delayed the start for 3 hours, 13 minutes. Spicer found the net for the first time in his first start and second appearance with the club after scoring twice in seven starts and 21 appearances for Toronto FC this season.
Dejan Joveljic pulled Sporting KC (6-14-6) even in the 25th minute with an assist from Mason Toye — the first of his career. It was the team-high 14th netter for Joveljic in his first season with the club and one off his career high set last season for the defending champion Los Angeles Galaxy. Toye, also in his first season with the team, had not had an assist in 123 league appearances since 2018.
Orlando City regained the lead in the 76th minute when Enrique used assists from Ojeda and Iván Angulo to score after subbing in for Luis Muriel in the 71st. It was the seventh assist for Angulo, who subbed in for Marco Pašalić, also in the 71st.
Rookie Nicolás Rodríguez replaced Spicer in the 77th and then gave Orlando City a two-goal lead unassisted in the 83rd with his first netter in his eighth appearance.
Pedro Gallese turned away three shots for Orlando City.
John Pulskamp had four saves for Sporting KC.
Orlando City coach Oscar Pareja earned his 100th victory.
Orlando City travels to play Nashville SC on Saturday. Sporting KC travels to play the Seattle Sounders on Sunday.

About four miles down the road from the picturesque Little League World Series Complex, the New York Mets and Seattle Mariners were set to close their three-game series at 7:10 p.m. in one of baseball's oldest ballparks - Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field - in the Little League Classic. In one of the banner events on the Major League Baseball calendar, both teams' players and coaches stopped in to visit with the competitors of the Little League World Series and their coaches before taking the field for the rubber game. The Mets and Mariners split the opening two games of their series, with the Mariners grabbing the opener, 11-9, before the Mets countered with a 3-1 victory behind Nolan McLean's sterling MLB debut on Saturday afternoon at Citi Field. As the Mets participated in the Little League Classic for the second time in their history, here are live updates throughout the event: Francisco Lindor, Edwin Diaz take in the Little League World Series It does not take long for the hundreds of fans, spectators and players to recognize that the Mets had made their arrival at the complex. The autographs continue in a gate section wedged between Little League Volunteer Stadium and Howard J. Lamade Stadium. On the famous hill flanking one of the most memorable ballparks of summer, Sean Manaea and Jeff McNeil take a memorable slide down the hill in front of the Grove, the dormitory complex for the little leaguers. Mabrey led Connecticut in scoring with 27 points, while Charles scored 21. Now, all eyes remain on Indiana, and whether they can reach the postseason. At 19-16, the Fever have nine games to go. The remainder of August will see Indiana taking on Minnesota in home and away games, followed by games against the Storm, Sparks, and Valkyries. The first game against the Lynx comes on Friday. In September, Indiana starts at Phoenix, before coming home to host the Chicago Sky. In the final two games, the Fever first play at the Washington Mystics, and then have another game at home against the Minnesota Lynx.
