India Invoke 'Hanuman Chalisa, English Pop' Ahead Of 4th England Test
The variety of music played in the dressing room - ranging from Hanuman Chalisa, English pop to popular Punjabi numbers - also put the players at ease.
From the dressing room upstairs, the likes of Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah were involved in a friendly banter with the travelling mediapersons who tracked the training session from the ground level.
When a scribe tried to converse with Pant from a distance, the latter responded saying 'kuch sunai nahi de raha hain' with the music being played in the background. That was when Bumrah got involved and cracked a joke at his teammate's expense.
"Aaj Duggal Ji behere hain," said India's pace spearhead much to the laughter of the press pack. It was a reference to a line from a popular Hindi movie.
Both Pant and Bumrah were only part of the warm-up routine and also spent some time in the gym. It is worth mentioning that Pant is nursing a finger injury but is expected to regain full fitness for the Manchester game.
Bumrah, on the other hand, did not have a bowl and neither did Mohammed Siraj as part of workload management. It remains to be seen if either of them is rested in the next Test with the series on the line.
Barring K L Rahul, all squad members made the trip to Beckenham.
Arshdeep injures bowling hand while trying to stop a ball in nets
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who is yet to play in the series, was bowling alongside Prasidh Krishna when he injured his bowling hand in an attempt to a stop a ball that came in his way from Sai Sudharsan 's bat.
When batting coach Sitanshu Kotak sought him in the nets for a hit, captain Shubman Gill was heard saying that Arshdeep might not be able to bat due to the hand injury.
Following the incident, the pacer was seen walking around with bandage on his left-hand.
Later, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate provided an update on Arshdeep's injury.
"Yeah, he took a ball while he was bowling there, Sai had a ball and he tried to stop it and it's just a cut, so we have to see how bad the cut is. Obviously the medical team has taken him off to see a doctor and obviously if he needs stitches or doesn't need stitches that's going to be important to our planning for the next few days," he said.
The incident prompted bowling coach Morne Morkel to roll his arm over in the nets. Though far from generating the express pace of Jofra Archer, Morkel provided good practice to the batters.
"It's not a sort of direct practice machine for Jofra (laughs), but obviously Arsh going away there after he cut his hand and Akash not bowling today.
"Sometimes we run a bit thin and if we think the practice is good, someone rolling off 20 yards and a bit taller and shaping the new ball, it is good practice for the batters. They obviously like competing against Morne as well. But it's mainly about getting the batters the best practice for the Test match," said Doeschate.
Keeping up with the light hearted mood of the session, Morkel went back to the dressing room claiming a five-wicket haul against his batters.

IND vs ENG 2025 4th Test: 'Jasprit Bumrah should play remaining two Tests', says former India captain and head coach
Jasprit Bumrah has claimed 12 wickets in 2 Test matches so far in England. (Photo: ANI) The five-match Test series between India and England for the 'Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy' is heating up now – both on and off the field. After 3 closely fought Test matches, home team England are 2-1 up in the series with two matches to go. Much like first Test at Leeds, Shubman Gill's Team India dominated most of the third Test match at Lord's last week but disappointingly failed to chase down a modest target of 193 runs in the final innings to lose by 22 runs. Now, after more than a week's break, Team India will take on England in the 4th Test at the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester from July 23. The question of everyone's mind currently is whether India's bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah will be available for this must-win Test match at Manchester. Bumrah has been scheduled to play in only three out of the five Tests in this series according to his 'workload management' but former India captain and head coach Anil Kumble believes that Bumrah should definitely play in the remaining two games. Speaking on 'Follow The Blues', JioHotstar expert Anil Kumble weighed in on the importance of Bumrah's availability for the remainder of the Test series. 'I would certainly push for Bumrah to play the next game because that's crucial. If he doesn't play and India end up losing the Test, that's it, the series would be done and dusted. Bumrah should feature in both the remaining Tests,' Kumble said. 'Yes, he mentioned earlier that he would only play three matches, but there is a long break after this. He does not need to be part of the home series if he wants rest. But right now, Bumrah should be playing the next two,' former India head coach added. Leaning toward playing Jasprit Bumrah at Manchester: India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate It is still unclear whether Bumrah will be able to play in back-to-back Test matches but India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate revealed that the team management are inclined at playing the Mumbai Indians pacer in the Manchester game. Speaking on JioHotstar show, 'Follow The Blues', India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate shared his thoughts on the team's decision-making process regarding Bumrah's availability for the final two Tests of the series: 'We will make that call about Bumrah in Manchester. We know we have got him available for one of the last two Tests, and it is pretty obvious that with the series on the line in Manchester, that's where we are leaning towards playing him,' Ten Doeschate said after a training session in Beckenham. 'But again, we have got to consider all the factors, how many days of cricket we are likely to get there, what we feel gives us the best chance of winning, and then how that fits in with the game at The Oval. We are looking at the last two matches holistically, as part of the larger series picture,' he added. Dhruv Jurel in equation for Manchester Test Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant is yet to fully recover from the finger injury he suffered in the Lord's Test. Pant injured his little finger while attempting to grab a delivery off Jasprit Bumrah on Day 1 of the third Test. Dhruv Jurel replaced Pant behind the stumps for the rest of the game. Ryan ten Doeschate revealed that Pant might be fit to bat in Manchester but may only be available as a specialist batter with Jurel in line to play his 5th Test as a wicket-keeper. If Jurel comes in then Karun Nair will possibly have to make way for him. 'He will bat in Manchester before the Test. I don't think anything is going to keep Rishabh out of the match, no matter what. He batted through quite a lot of pain during the third Test, and from here on, it is only going to get easier in terms of the discomfort in his finger. Wicket-keeping is obviously the final stage of the recovery process; we need to ensure that he can keep comfortably,' Ten Doeschate said. 'We don't want a repeat of what happened earlier, where we had to replace the keeper mid-innings. Pant has been given an adequate amount of rest, and we are just trying to give his finger as much time as possible to heal. Hopefully, he'll be good to go in Manchester by the first training session. Dhruv Jurel is definitely in the equation. But obviously, Rishabh is fatigued. That said, he will play the next Test and do both — bat and keep wickets,' he added.

‘The fight from Jaddu was absolutely brilliant': Gautam Gambhir, others laud Ravindra Jadeja for gritty knock at Lord's
The Indian team led by head coach Gautam Gambhir showered praises on Ravindra Jadeja for his gritty knock of 61 not out which brought the visitors very close to the 193-run target that England had set at Lord's but ultimately fell 22 runs short. 'That was an incredible fight. The fight from Jaddu was absolutely brilliant,' said Gambhir in a video titled 'The MVP ft. Ravindra Jadeja', which was posted on the BCCI website on Friday. Jadeja came in at No.7 as the India batting lineup crumbled to chase the modest total. He almost took the visitors over the finish line with assistance from tailenders Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj the latter was unfortunately snapped up by Shoaib Bashir, leaving India to go 1-2 down in the series. Bumrah faced 54 balls for his 5 and Siraj played out 30 deliveries for his 4 as India folded for 170. 'It's very difficult to get a player like me and we are lucky to have such a player in our team,' Siraj said in the video. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗩𝗣; 𝗳𝘁. 𝗥𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗷𝗮 🔝 WATCH 🎥🔽 #TeamIndia | #ENGvIND | @imjadeja — BCCI (@BCCI) July 18, 2025 'His batting has reached another level. In the last two Tests the consistency and the calmness he brought to the dressing room. I've watched him for so many years and how he's developed his game now, his defence is rock solid, looks like a proper batter,' assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said. 'I always felt he has the ability to take pressure. With so much of experience, he normally comes with something that the team needs in any challenging conditions. Really, really valuable to the team,' India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said. On Monday, skipper Shubman Gill also was gushing in his praise for the allrounder. 'He is one of the most valuable players of India. The skillset he brings with his batting, bowling and fielding. He is someone who is very rare to find. The way Jaddu bhai batted was a very proud effort. The character and the courage they showed was tremendous,' he had said. India will have to win the fourth Test beginning in Manchester on July 23 to keep their hopes of winning the series alive.
