'His batting has reached another level. In the last two Tests the consistency and the calmness he brought to the dressing room. I've watched him for so many years and how he's developed his game now, his defence is rock solid, looks like a proper batter,' assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said.
'I always felt he has the ability to take pressure. With so much of experience, he normally comes with something that the team needs in any challenging conditions. Really, really valuable to the team,' India's batting coach Sitanshu Kotak said.
On Monday, skipper Shubman Gill also was gushing in his praise for the allrounder.
'He is one of the most valuable players of India. The skillset he brings with his batting, bowling and fielding. He is someone who is very rare to find. The way Jaddu bhai batted was a very proud effort. The character and the courage they showed was tremendous,' he had said.
India will have to win the fourth Test beginning in Manchester on July 23 to keep their hopes of winning the series alive.

CHENNAI: AT only 16 years of age, Tayin Arun is at the forefront of a new generation of talented surfers, part of a brand-new movement of Indian surfing. Enjoying an almost meteoric rise in the junior divisions, the surfer broke through to the national surfing team last year, and is now looking to prove his worth with the rest of his teammates at the upcoming ASF Asian Surfing Championships in Mahabalipuram to be held from August 3 to 12. Hailing from Akkarai, Tayin is no stranger to sports. His elder sister Eloksi Arun is a batter for the Tamil Nadu women's cricket team. Reminiscing about his earlier days, Tayin recalls, 'I remember playing many sports as a kid, and surfing seemed to be the sport that I wanted to join. But the infrastucture wasn't developed then. Moreover, many people were scared to send their younger kids out to the sea. So, I only started to learn surfing when I was nine.' Tayin learnt surfing in Kovalam at the Surf Turf, Chennai's first surfing school considered one of the best in the region. This allowed him to not only hone his craft, but also give him exposure and access to surfing equipment. 'Boards are really expensive when you import it, and sometimes not getting access to them can hamper your growth. I used the boards given to me by the TT Group (owned by Arun Vasu, the founder of Surf Turf) for many years because you couldn't get it easily from anywhere else in India," said the young surfer. Today, due to his excellent performances at tournaments such as the Covelong Classics and at the Indian Open of Surfing, he has secured himself sponsorship from the TT Group to get equipment.

Nagpur: Defensive lapses and a minute of foul fury proved fatal for India as the 79th-ranked women cagers lost the semifinal qualification game to Thailand 76-93 and crashed out of the FIBA Asia Cup basketball tournament at Shenzhen Sports Center in China on Friday. With an aim to register their first win over World No. 66 Thailand, the Indians made a positive start and were able to hold their higher-ranked opponents to a marginal six-point lead at the lemon break. The change of ends turned things in Thailand's favour when India came under severe foul trouble by committing all their four fouls within just a minute in the initial stage of the third quarter. Thailand capitalised on India's third-minute blunder and dominated the remaining period of the third quarter by winning the same 29-18 for a match-winning 17-point advantage.
