Newly offered in-state 3-star ATH Samson Gash schedules official visit to MSU for next month
One day after getting an offer from the Spartans, three-star in-state prospect Samson Gash has scheduled an official visit to Michigan State.
Gash announced on Friday that he'll be taking an official visit to Michigan State next month. According to a post from Gash on his social media X account, he will visit Michigan State on June 13.
Michigan State extended an offer to Gash -- who plays for Michigan high school powerhouse Detroit Catholic Central -- on Thursday. He has recently picked up a ton of interest on the recruiting trail, with Gash receiving offers from Illinois, Purdue, West Virginia, Wake Forest and Temple in the last month.
Gash ranks as the No. 60 athlete in 247Sports' rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 16 player from Michigan in the class, and holds a rating of 87 on 247Sports.
Along with his official visit to Michigan State scheduled for June 13, Gash will also take an official visit to Cincinnati on June 20, according to 247Sports. I would expect him to schedule some additional official visits with some of the other schools that have recently offered him.

College football analyst Josh Pate skeptical of Wisconsin's quarterback situation in 2025 College football analyst Josh Pate unveiled his top 10 Big Ten quarterbacks entering the 2025 season last week. That list, notably, did not include Wisconsin starter Billy Edwards Jr. Pate's top 10, in order, is Penn State's Drew Allar, Ohio State's Julian Sayin, Oregon's Dante Moore, Washington's Demond Williams, Illinois' Luke Altmyer, Nebraska's Dylan Raiola, USC's Jayden Maiava, Michigan's Bryce Underwood, Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and UCLA's Nico Iamaleava. In contrast, our top 10 quarterbacks for the 2025 Big Ten season, updated after spring practice, are Allar, Altmyer, Raiola, Iamaleava, Mendoza, Moore, Sayin, Michigan State's Aidan Chiles, Edwards Jr. and Iowa's Mark Gronowski. Edwards has a strong argument to be in the conference's top half entering the season. The rising senior completed 65% of his passes for 2,881 yards, 6.9 yards per attempt, 15 touchdowns, nine interceptions, plus added 81 carries, 148 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns at Maryland in 2024. He notably recorded those tallies while playing behind one of the conference's worst offensive lines. The strong-armed quarterback now enters a Wisconsin offensive system that should be better catered to his strengths. Even with a season-ending injury to left tackle Kevin Heywood, the Badgers project to be strong up front. That unit should lead one of the Big Ten's more underrated rushing attacks, also headlined by running backs Dilin Jones and Darrion Dupree. Less pressure to carry the unit should lead to continued development from Edwards. He'll also be complemented by a strong cast of receivers, led by Vinny Anthony, Trech Kekahuna and Ohio State transfer Jayden Ballard. The Big Ten quarterback landscape is impressive entering 2025. It wouldn't be a surprise if any of Pate's 10 listed players finish next to Allar at the top of the conference. That said, bookmark his sentiment for when the games kick off. Wisconsin fans should expect Edwards to find a steady home on future iterations of his list. 'Marcel (Reed) has been great' Texas A&M HC Mike Elko praises his QB's development Texas A&M's 2025 season will wholly depend on starting quarterback Marcel Reed taking the next step in his development, and while most of the national media are highly skeptical, coach Mike Elko has vocally backed the redshirt sophomore based on his offseason development, and continued to do so on Tuesday night during the Forth Worth Coach's Night. Reed is a dual-threat quarterback in every sense of the definition, flashing brilliance as a runner, while he has shown the arm strength and accuracy needed to thrive in the SEC. However, inconsistency in the pocket was a constant issue outside of a handful of games, while his poor performance in the season finale loss to Texas resulted in the national media losing confidence in the former four-star recruit. Still, thanks to his father, Rod Reed, we have been able to witness Marcel put the work in the offseason, working with various coaches to refine his technique as a passer, mainly working on his accuracy and quick release. In OC Collin Klein's balanced offense, Reed will need to make the tight window throws and complete enough deep passes to open up the running game, which shouldn't be an issue on paper given the influx of talent in the wide receiver room from the transfer portal. With KC Concepcion and Mario Craver joining Terry Bussey, Ashton Bethel-Roman, Izaiah Williams, and Jonah Wilson in the 2025 WR Corps, Reed can thrive in the short to intermediate passing game given every player's ability to gain yards after contact. On Tuesday night, Elko once again praised his QB based on the work he's put in, reminding the Aggies in the audience that during his first starting season as a redshirt freshman, mistakes are almost guaranteed, but he's on the right track regardless. "Marcel (Reed) has been great." "I don't think anybody really appreciates the development that Marcel made because a lot of his development happened at the end of the year when we didn't get the results that we wanted. … We have to finish those games and get the results, but if you're looking for signs of growth from the quarterback, those signs were there." "Growth" is everything when it comes to quarterback development, and while some will see this as coach-speak, Elko has kept it real when discussing player development, especially given the importance of the 2025 campaign.
