The SUD Life NIFTY Alpha 50 Index Pension Fund blends equity market exposure with the disciplined savings framework of a unit-linked pension plan. Vivek Jain, Chief Business Officer of Life Insurance at Policybazaar, says, 'In India, retirement planning is often seen as a balancing act between cautious savings and the hope of market-linked growth. The SUD Life NIFTY Alpha 50 Index Pension Fund is designed to utilise India's high-growth sectors while prioritizing long-term stability.
'
Unit-linked pension plans are a good way to build a retirement corpus. However, pension plans from life insurance companies have higher charges compared to the ultra low-cost New Pension System (NPS). The NPS also offers greater choice and flexibility to investors.

Two companies bid for dismantling BRTS corridor
Indore: Two companies have expressed interest in dismantling 11.5-km-long BRTS corridor that stretches from Rajiv Gandhi Square to Niranjanpur Square. This was the fourth tender floated for the project, and the bids were opened. According to IMC additional commissioner Abhay Rajangaonkar, Poornima Enterprises bid Rs 2.52 crore, while one Dinesh Yadav quoted Rs 1.71 crore. The proposals from both companies have been sent to municipal commissioner for approval. After High Court had ordered removal of the BRTS railings in Feb 2025, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) had floated tenders twice in April, but no contractors had shown interest. A third tender was issued in June, where the corridor was divided into six parts to attract more contractors. The terms of the tender were also relaxed. The initial demand for Rs 3.68 crore advance payment was reduced, and it would now be accepted in five instalments. "As decided, the contractor will dismantle the entire BRTS corridor, including railings, plinths, and bus stops, and will take whatever material he wants from it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Use an AI Writing Tool That Actually Understands Your Voice Grammarly Install Now Undo In return, he will give the bid amount that will be approved by IMC," Rajangaonkar said, adding that after awarding the work, it is expected to take around three months for complete dismantling of the corridor. After the railings are removed, a divider would be constructed in the middle of AB Road, and both sides will be open to mixed traffic, including i-buses. The i-bus stops will be moved to the sides of the road. "We have already approved tenders of two contractors, while another contractor is expected to be assigned the work of constructing the divider after dividing the corridor into three sections," he explained, adding that this work was expected to take more time due to flow of traffic on this busy route. To streamline traffic at the intersections, more than half a dozen flyovers have been proposed on this stretch on AB Road. A flyover at the Bhanwarkuan intersection has already been completed, and the construction of two flyovers is underway at Satya Sai and Dewas Naka (Niranjanpur) intersections. Proposals have also been submitted for flyovers at major squares, including LIG, Palasia, Geeta Bhavan, Shivaji Vatika, and Naulakha intersections. German firm plans to open its first tech centre in India at Indore
Indore: A German tech firm announced plans to invest at least $8 million to establish a technology centre in Indore, marking its first setup in India. Another Berlin-headquartered technology company also expressed interest in establishing a technology centre in the state, focusing on the service sector. A delegation of five German technology companies visited Indore on a week-long trip concluding on August 22 under the state's Global Startup Exchange Programme. They held meetings with officials from the industries department and key tech firms on Tuesday. The delegation is part of the memorandum of understanding signed between Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) and Germany India Innovation Centre (GIIC) during the Global Investors Summit held in Bhopal in Feb 2025. GIIC managing director Siddharth Bhasin said, "The objective behind this visit is locking some good deals and collaboration. German investors are exploring opportunities to share technology and expertise with tech companies of Indore. India is primarily known for its IT services, but the collaboration with German firms could aid in establishing firms working on product development in healthcare, edtech, and others. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it better to shower in the morning or at night? The estimated cost of the tech centre is between $8-10 million, and this facility will make the state more competitive for attracting investments from more tech firms." German AI and software development companies stated that the presence of IT giants like TCS, Infosys and Infobeans, among others in Indore — a home to more than 1000 big and small IT firms—makes the place suitable for German investments and collaborations. "I have explored Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and other Indian cities and found Indore well suited as it has talent due to the presence of IIT and IIM, ease of doing business, and favourable policies for tech companies," said Lange. Another German tech company stated they are in advanced talks with a homegrown listed IT firm for collaborating on technology sharing, soft training, and providing advanced services to clients. "We are in talks with an Indore-based IT giant for collaborating with them with a focus on the services sector. We are also planning to set up a tech centre but have not decided on the location. We are considering Indore seriously because this place has good availability of talent and, most importantly, this is not saturated, which makes it a great place to operate," said Joanna Maja Morzy, marketing and operations lead at Talonic. German tech firms mentioned that the tariffs imposed by the United States will help further strengthen the business relationship with India and pave the way for new avenues for other nations. The German delegation held closed-door meetings and workshops with homegrown IT company Infobeans, followed by interactions with other tech firms and industry department officials at the office of MPIDC. MPIDC Indore executive director Himanshu Prajapati said, "The govt is playing a supportive and encouraging role in international partnerships and technical cooperation. The operating cost in Indore is much lower compared to metro cities, while the city's liveability makes it even more attractive for entrepreneurs and investors to work here. As the digitization of data in India is still in its early stages, and data duplicity affects accuracy in the long term, the country is currently focusing on the integration of AI and data-driven services. " "We are finding immense opportunities to collaborate on the AI side. We will help some of them with their go to market strategy in India and to our customers. German companies are doing some really good work on the generative AI side," said Infobeans co-founder Siddharth Seth. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Postmen to seek OTP, payments via UPI as India Post steps up to compete with e-commerce couriers
Gurgaon: With India's fast-changing delivery landscape, the Department of Posts is working to soon launch sweeping reforms that will bring it closer in line with private courier companies and e-commerce logistics giants. Postmen delivering letters and parcels will now rely on mobile-based OTPs (One-Time Passwords) instead of signatures for verification, while customers will also be able to make payments through UPI, cutting down on cash transactions. Officials say the reforms are part of Advanced Postal Technology 2.0, a modernised framework already activated in the Gurgaon postal circle. The system integrates 5G-enabled tools, real-time tracking, and digital payment options—features long associated with private e-commerce companies and other courier firms. "With the new software, OTP-based delivery has started. This will enhance accuracy and minimise errors in parcel delivery," said Sumit Gad, senior superintendent of post offices, Gurgaon division. "The idea is to make India Post as seamless and transparent as any e-commerce logistics network," he added. The department has also unveiled a UPI-based digital payment system to facilitate instant, cashless doorstep transactions, allowing receivers to use QR codes and UPI apps to make payments. Furthermore, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has also deepened its rural presence. Villages that once depended on money orders are today using Aadhaar-enabled banking, doorstep insurance, and digital payments via the postal network. Experts believe this renewed push will help India Post capture a bigger slice of the booming e-commerce-driven logistics market while retaining its traditional role as the trusted messenger for the people. "The challenge is to match the speed and reliability of private couriers," an industry analyst said, adding, "But with reforms like OTP deliveries, UPI integration, and real-time tracking, India Post is showing it is ready to compete.
