Alain Prost remembers Ayrton Senna
Sharing a picture of Senna and himself seated at a press conference, Alain Prost wrote on his Instagram Story, 'Remembering.'
Ayrton Senna and Prost were the biggest rivals even when they were teammates at
McLaren
and won 15 Grands Prix together. Such was the inter-team rivalry that they crashed into each other at the 1989 Japanese Grand Prix, killing any chances of either of them getting a spot on the podium. They continued to be rivals even after Prost moved to a different team, Ferrari. However, soon after Prost's retirement from F1 in 1993, the two reconnected and became friends before Senna passed away a year later.
Prost had once told the Canal+ channel about their bond before Senna's death, 'In the six months before his death, we spoke regularly on the phone, sometimes two or three times a week. He was not the same anymore, he even begged me to come back.'
Other tributes
Formula 1 also shared several of Senna's race moments on Instagram and wrote, 'Ayrton Senna. Forever in our hearts. We remember the three-time champion on the anniversary of his tragic passing #SennaSempre.'
McLaren also remembered its star driver. A picture of Senna was shared from its handle along with the caption: 'Gone but never forgotten. Today we remember the racing legend, Ayrton Senna.'

Churros, cool breeze and warm sun: Arshdeep Singh happy to be back in 2nd home Kent
Arshdeep Singh was happy to be back at his second home, Kent, as India get ready for the series against England, starting from June 20. Arshdeep got the call up to the Indian Test team for the first time for the five-match series, and many expect him to make his debut during the tour. The left-arm pacer spent some time in Kent playing in the county championship to improve his skills with the red-ball. Arshdeep was now back to his second home. In a video released by the BCCI, Arshdeep talked about Kent and how he enjoyed the peaceful nature of the place and enjoying some hot chocolate and Churros during his time in the county. Also Read: Report card of Indian stars in India A vs England Lions"It feels really good to be here. At first, you get that 'homely' feeling, that yes, I've spent two months here before, so it feels great. I'm really looking forward to creating many more memories here. It's a small place, very peaceful. Not many people around. If you need peace of mind, this is the best place—because there's always a cool breeze blowing, a soft warmth from the sun, and when you sip hot chocolate in that setting, it's pure bliss. And if you have a sweet tooth, make sure to have some churros with it," said Arshdeep. Speaking about the preparations for the Test series, Arshdeep said his motivation was to get a rhythm with the red-ball after being part of limited overs cricket for a long time. "As for today's training session, my only motivation was to get a feel for the rhythm—how the body feels, how the red ball is coming out of the hand—because all the players have been playing with the white ball for quite a while. So I really enjoyed it.""Going forward, as we keep progressing step by step, the intensity will keep increasing, and we'll keep making it more and more difficult for the batters to face the ball. It was fun bowling to the batters. They looked quite compact, and there was a competitive spirit—even though we were just working on rhythm, they were fully competing. So that made it even more fun. We had to grind properly and try to get them out with a solid plan. Sai has joined the team for the first time, and he looked very compact too. The skipper looked in good touch. I'll try my best to keep improving and get them out more often going ahead," said Arshdeep. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Team India (@indiancricketteam)'When your attack includes Bumrah, comparison doesn't exist'advertisementArshdeep also commented on working with Jasprit Bumrah and said that comparison goes out of the window when the star pacer is part of the attack. The left-arm pacer said that the aim is to work together and help improve each other's skills. "Whenever I hold the ball, I always feel that I am the best. But everyone knows—when you're in an attack that includes a player named Jasprit Bumrah, then the word "comparison" doesn't even exist.""So, the focus is on how we can improve each other's game, each other's skill sets—and how we can help the team. That's where my focus lies," said Arshdeep. Must Watch

Watch: Rishabh Pant Breaks Stadium's Roof With Gigantic Six In Practice Session
Rishabh Pant is regaining form ahead of the Test series against England, hitting a massive six in practice. He's been named vice-captain and showcased his skills alongside teammates like Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah in training sessions. India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, whose bat remained silent for most of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign, seems to be back in his groove. Facing Washington Sundar in the nets ahead of the start of the Test assignment against England, Pant smashed a huge six that went on the roof of the stadium, doing some damage too. The southpaw, who also hit a century in the inconsequential final match of the IPL 2025 season for LSG, has also been promoted to the role of Test vice-captain. Rishabh Pant breaking the roof with his six. — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) June 9, 2025 As for the training sessions, a video of players was posted on the Instagram handle of the Indian cricket team with several players, including skipper Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja seen in action. The coaching staff, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, were also seen talking to players, guiding them as they sweat it out in nets. Gill and Pant were among the players who did some batting practice, while Siraj and Bumrah were seen throwing down balls. The team also took part in some fielding drills led by fielding coach T Dilip. As per a video from ESPNCricinfo on Instagram, a massive part of this practice session was a one-on-one battle between Bumrah and skipper Gill. Bumrah looked at his unplayable best against Gill, who had no choice to either struggle or to just leave the ball altogether. Another attractive sight during the session was Pant tonking a massive six on a Washington Sundar delivery, which broke a part of the roof of the facility at Beckenham, as per an ESPNCricinfo video on Instagram. The series will be held from June to August 2025, with matches scheduled at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.

Too Young to Quit? Nicholas Pooran Stuns Cricket World With Retirement From All Formats Of International Cricket At 29
In a major surprise for cricket fans, West Indies star Nicholas Pooran has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of just 29. One of the finest T20 batters of his generation, Pooran made the announcement on Monday night via a heartfelt Instagram post. Pooran Follows Klaasen in Stepping Away Pooran's decision comes shortly after South African wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen also retired from international cricket. Both players are known for their explosive batting in the T20 format, and their exit raises questions about the future of international cricket amid the rise of franchise leagues. Focus Now on Franchise Cricket Pooran has made it clear that while he is done with international cricket, he will continue to play in franchise leagues across the globe. This move follows a growing trend where many players are retiring early from national duty to pursue more freedom and opportunities in leagues like the IPL, CPL, and others. Pooran's International Career The Trinidad-born cricketer retires as West Indies' most capped player in T20 Internationals, having played 106 matches. He is also the leading run-scorer for the West Indies in T20Is, with 2,275 runs to his name. Pooran had also captained the West Indies and was once seen as the future face of West Indies cricket. He carried the expectations of fans and experts alike, and his leadership was considered a vital part of the team's rebuild. Pooran's Emotional Goodbye In his retirement post, Pooran expressed deep gratitude for the support he received throughout his career. 'Wearing that maroon, standing for the anthem, and giving everything I had each time I stepped on the field... it's hard to put into words what that truly means to me,' he wrote. He thanked his fans, teammates, friends, and family, calling his international journey 'a privilege' and promising continued support for West Indies cricket from afar. Pooran's early retirement highlights the growing issue of players prioritizing franchise cricket over international commitments. For many, the financial rewards, reduced pressure, and greater flexibility offered by league cricket are too attractive to ignore. While some fans respected Pooran's decision and thanked him for his service, others were left heartbroken, especially as the team prepares for future tournaments. Losing a player of his talent and experience at just 29 is a big blow to West Indies cricket.
