Premier League team target Rangers star Mohamed Diomande as part of sensational squad overhaul
Two of their star midfielders are leaving this summer
RANGERS favourite Mohamed Diomande is reportedly on the radar of an EPL side as they look to make key additions to their squad.
The Daily Express say that the 23-year-old could be in line for a sensational move from Ibrox to the Premier League just a year on from joining.

Everton are the club with the Ivorian in their sights as they compile a list of midfield targets amid a squad overhaul.
Orel Mangala and Abdoulaye Doucoure are two that are set to depart the Merseyside outfit, with the Gers star considered an option to add some cover in that position and others.
If he were to make the move he would arrive at Hill Dickinson Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, their new home since leaving Goodison Park at the close of the season.
Scottish manager David Moyes led The Toffees to a 13th placed finish in last season's league competition.

The ex-Manchester United boss said after their final game at Goodison that the noise from fans was 'unbelievable' and that they have a big season of change ahead.
He said: "It cries out as a club which is desperate for good times and things to celebrate.
"If you look at the disappointments they've had over recent years this now looks like something everyone's looking forward to, a change of stadium.
"If I'd turned up for today's game I'd have thought this was for us winning the championship or us being in a cup final, it was amazing.

"We have to try and put us on the map in some way, I'll try.
"Let's be fair, we've had to try and pull the whole club up by the boot laces. Other people before me as well, other good managers.
Liam Delap tipped to snub Man Utd and Chelsea for EVERTON transfer after fans spot gesture following match vs Toffees
"We've now got ourselves really in a good position, finished the season really strongly, so I'm hoping we can take the same atmosphere we had today down to the new stadium.
"But we'll need to perform the way we have done over the last few weeks."

Everton chiefs had to deal carefully in the transfer market after some unsuccessful moves but with a strong end to the season and good midtable finish, things are looking on the up again.
Up in Scotland, a Diomande exit would surely not be the only one as the recently confirmed American takeover brings with it big changes including a cash injection and - eventually - a new manager.
Reports also suggest that Robin Propper and Ridvan Yilmaz could both be on their way to their respective former clubs in a rebuild bid.

Rangers on verge of appointing Russell Martin as new head coach
The 39-year-old former Southampton boss will be installed in the Ibrox hotseat in the next 48 hours, barring any last-minute hitches. The appointment of a new man at the helm is the latest in a series of major changes at the club. An American consortium led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises secured a majority shareholding on Friday and new sporting director Kevin Thelwell officially began work on Monday, when he said that the recruitment of a new head coach would come to a conclusion 'in the coming days'. Outgoing Real Madrid assistant manager Davide Ancelotti, son of Carlo Ancelotti, and Martin were the two frontrunners for the post, vacated by Philippe Clement in February, with former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson taking over to the end of the season, which ended trophyless. However, it is the former MK Dons and Swansea boss, who had a short loan spell as a player at Rangers in 2018, who will be tasked with wrestling the power back from the other side of the city where Celtic this season won their 13th William Hill Premiership title in 14 seasons and have a stranglehold on Scottish football. However, many Rangers fans have revealed some dismay at the notion of Martin's arrival. The former Scotland international brought Southampton up to the Premier League through the play-offs in 2024 but was sacked in December as they headed back towards the Championship with one win from their first 16 games. Chris Hughton, Martin's boss at Norwich, offered a glowing character reference, saying on talkSPORT: 'If I'm looking at Russell's managerial background, he is known of course, for playing a certain way, very expansive in the way that he wants to play, very much a passing game and progression through the thirds. 'But he's a strong personality also. He's had a few knockbacks in his football career so far. 'I think any knockbacks, he will look at very much as experience and look to improve in every aspect that he can. I saw him recently, and he was in good form and really looking forward to getting back into the game. 'I think he's had a few offers. So this is somebody that's still very respected in the game, and of course, the rollercoaster in management, there are always going to be ups and downs, but he's a very confident individual and very confident in what he wants to do on the football pitch. 'He was very much a leader in the changing room, vocal in the meetings that we had and, of course, he was my voice when it came to any sort of direction on the players. 'So no surprise to me that he eventually went into management. He always showed those characteristics. And he was somebody that, as he improved in his career as a player, is of course very much looking to improve the same way in management.'

Mystery over ex-Rangers coach's next move as he ‘takes charge of new club days after having talks with Bayer Leverkusen'
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) HE looked set to swap one top European club for another after his short managerial stint in Belgium came to an end. But despite reportedly having talks with Bayer Leverkusen lined up, this former Rangers coach has in fact been spotted 6,000 miles away instead. 1 He was Philippe Clement's right-hand man at Ibrox Credit: Getty Andries Ulderink, previously Philippe Clement's No.2 at Ibrox, was most recently the manager Antwerp - until a few days ago. The Dutchman took over as boss in March - less than three months after his Gers exit - but his time in the dugout is over already, having won just two out of his 13 games in charge. Antwerp chiefs decided not to extend his contract beyond this season which led to questions around his next move. According to Voetbal International, Ulderink revealed he was set to travel to Germany for discussions with Bayer Leverkusen about being Erik Ten Hag's new assistant manager. It's claimed the pair know each other well, and the ex-Man Utd and Ajax gaffer - who replaced Xabi Alonso in the hot-seat last week - is keen to work with him in the Bundesliga. But in a bizarre turn of events, Ulderink, 55, looks set to make a swift return to management in South Africa instead. The experienced coach has been spotted taking a training session at one of his former clubs - Cape Town FC - and local reports suggest his appointment will be announced imminently. It's an unusual move at this time of the season as he takes charge just days before the relegation play-offs. The Citizens finished second-bottom in the league and will battle it out in a three-team group to hold onto their top flight status. The second and third placed teams in the second tier face off against the club in Cape Town City's position each season, with six games played in total - each side playing one another home and away. Rangers fans react as 49ers takeover completed The team which finishes top of the group will compete in the top division next season. The play-offs get underway on June 11, with Cape Town City's first game scheduled against Casric Stars three days later. They then face their first game against Orbit College on June 18. It's unclear at this stage whether or not Ulderink will stay in South Africa beyond the play-offs, or if he plans to take up the job at Bayer Leverkusen after helping his old club steer clear of the drop. New Rangers manager Russell Martin's 'dark arts' admission
Initially praised for his attractive football, Martin's side won only one of their first 16 Premier League matches, resulting in his December dismissal. Martin, speaking after his sacking, reflected: "I think if I look back now at the start of the season, I would have made way more onus on fouling quickly, being more horrible out of possession. "Because we're pressing a lot but more detail with that about making contact earlier." His last match in charge saw Southampton suffer a heavy defeat against Tottenham, going 1-0 down in the first minute and five behind by half-time. Read more: Rangers-bound Russell Martin quotes on loan spell revisited Former Rangers stars could be axed after just one year at Turkish club After his dismissal, Martin acknowledged his need to adapt and balance style with pragmatism, admitting: "But my thing is always, actually, let's try and dominate the ball but there are going to be times when we have to suffer. "So I think a bit more athleticism is in the team, but if you're not going to have that then we need to make a real focus on being really difficult to play against, as well as all the stuff with the ball. "Because then, if you could bring the beauty with a ball, but also bring the darkness with that stuff, you need both." Martin's appointment at Ibrox is seen as a divisive one, with concerns about his inflexibility in style. However, his comments may alleviate some doubts, as he seems to be recognising the need for a more balanced approach. His challenge now is to implement this philosophy at Rangers, where expectations are high and patience is often in short supply.
