New Show Shivay Announced, To Star Debutant Akhil Menon In Cop Avatar
Short-form dramas have been gaining popularity over the last few years and have been providing an opportunity to many budding artists. Amongst others, Akhil Menon has found a chance to star in Pocket FM's latest show, Shivay and the actor has been dedicatedly working on the project. Akhil is not new to the entertainment industry and reportedly worked behind the scenes, handling promotions for major projects.
Shivay marks Akhil Menon's acting debut and he is set to play a corrupt inspector, a role that is expected to allow him to stretch his creative wings. Talking about his role, Akhil shared, 'I have been very passionate about acting since my school days, but never thought this could turn into reality. Thanks to the evolution of content consumption in the country, we now have the space to showcase our talent. I'm looking forward to more such opportunities," as quoted by Filmibeat.
Akhil Menon had previously shared some behind-the-scenes pictures on his Instagram page where he was seen decked up as a police officer and posing near his desk. Taking inspiration from Salman Khan's character in Dabangg, he wrote, 'Swagat nahi karoge hamara?"

The casting house associated with Akhil also shared the news on their social media handle with a still of the actor. In the caption, they wrote, 'When the badge speaks louder than words…Akhil Menon takes charge in Shivay – Ek Vinashak as a determined Police Inspector, ready to fight crime and uncover the truth. With eyes set on justice and a heart full of courage, this role is more than action — it's purpose." The actor was also seen thanking the production and team of Shivay for giving him the chance to play a crucial role in the show. Akhil has earlier worked on short-format videos for Filtercopy.

The couple and Netflix also announced upcoming collaborations, including a second season of, 'With Love, Meghan," a lifestyle and cooking show starring the duchess. The show will also receive a special holiday episode in December. The show is Netflix's most-watched culinary show since its March release, according to the company. It ranked low compared to other releases in the first half of this year, with 5.3 million views, according to Netflix's semiannual report. 'Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within," a documentary short film that centres on a small orphanage in Uganda's Masaka region, is also set to release this year. Archewell is also in production with Netflix on a feature adaptation of Carley Fortune's novel 'Meet Me at the Lake." The drama 'follows a decade-spanning love story that begins with a chance encounter and a broken promise," the statement read. 'Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere.
