Blackfriars Theatre announces 2025-2026 season
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Blackfriars Theatre has announced its line-up for the 76th season.
Officials tell News 8 that the lineup features a mix of titles as it packs a punch, makes strong statements all while having an abundance of humor and spirit.
The seven show lineup kicks off with 'Shrek the Musical' and also includes 'Souvenir', 'In the Next Room, Rumors', 'The Grown Ups', 'The White Chip', and 'Parade'!
Blackfriars Theatre is a not-for-profit professional theatre and is one of the longest running theatres in the Rochester Area!

Concerts by the Shore series returns to Ontario Beach Park
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Wegmans Concerts by the Shore series is returning to Ontario Beach Park in June. The Ontario Beach Program Committee announced the return of the popular concert series Tuesday. Its 39th season will include 13 performances starting June 4 and ending August 27. People attending the concerts are encouraged to arrive early and bring a picnic dinner or visit one of the lakeshore-area restaurants. Food concessions will also be available at this series and will offer hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage, and Red Osier Roast Beef sandwiches. It was announced on Monday that The 1976 Tour: A Fluffy Celebration will make its third stop in Rochester on September 20. Iglesias is known for his stand-up comedy and is recognized as one of the most-watched comedians on YouTube with over 2 billion views. Billboard named him the third highest-grossing comedian of 2024 with an expansive resume of Netflix specials and an original comedy series, self-titled Mr. Iglesias. Grand Rapids institution Yesterdog sells to new owners
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Yesterdog, the iconic late-night hot dog spot in Eastown Grand Rapids, has sold after almost five decades. Owner Bill Lewis, who opened Yesterdog in 1976 at 1505 Wealthy St. near Lake Drive, told News 8 over the phone Monday that he officially sold it Sunday. With a vintage 1930s aesthetic, the cash-only restaurant is a go-to spot for many Grand Rapidians for lunch or a late-night hot dog.
