Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Finally Address Their Split After Calling It Quits On Decade-Long Romance

Yahoo3 days ago
Representatives for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially addressed the couple's split, weeks after it was revealed they had separated.
In a joint statement, they revealed that while the romantic chapter of their relationship has come to an end, their focus remains on co-parenting their daughter.
Previous reports noted that Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's split was "amicable," which the statement from the reps seemed to confirm.
The Former Couple Is Focused On Co-Parenting Their Daughter Daisy
After weeks of silence surrounding the rumored split between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, reps for the couple have confirmed that the separation has indeed happened.
In a joint statement shared with Us Weekly, they stated that the couple's relationship has been "shifting" over the "past many months" from romance to a focus on co-parenting.
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect," the reps added about the duo who share a 4-year-old daughter.
For now, it remains unclear what the co-parenting arrangement entails, particularly given Perry's ongoing tour, which has kept her busy for months.
The Couple's Split Was 'Amicable'
The statement from the stars' reps comes after news first broke about Perry and Bloom ending their nearly decade-long romance.
At the time, it was reported that the split was "amicable," even though things between them had been "tense for months."
"It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life," a source said about Perry and Bloom, per US Weekly.
Throughout the tense months, the Hollywood stars were reportedly "spending more and more time apart," according to a different insider.
The source also hinted at the reason for their split, saying, "They've grown apart and aren't living the same lives anymore."
Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom's Friends Were Aware Of Their 'Issues'
While the public only recently learned about Perry and Bloom's rough patch, a source claimed that their friends were well aware of the issues.
"It's an unspoken thing that they are having issues and have for a while now," said the insider. "Everyone around them knows."
According to the source, Bloom had tried to keep his relationship issues with the singer "close to the vest."
However, it became even more apparent as he was "out and about more often" without her while she was on her "Lifetimes Tour."
They also claimed that the couple "never set a date for the wedding" despite being engaged since 2019.
Katy Perry's Tour Caused The 'Biggest Disruption' To Her Romance With Orlando Bloom
Previous reports that swirled amid Perry and Bloom's rough patch also suggested that the singer's ongoing tour largely contributed to the breakup.
A source stated that it caused the "biggest disruption" to what she shared with Bloom, due to the extensive preparation, rehearsals, and travel that had gone into it.
"Katy and Orlando have been disconnected for a while now, and with their work commitments have been living separate lives," the insider said at the time, per The Sun.
"They have barely been together for a decent amount of time, without distractions, for many, many months," they added. "It has been 'go, go, go' and they thrived when they enjoyed a more settled life, being together in the same place for a length of time. But that has just not happened."
PR Expert Says Orlando Bloom's Split From Katy Perry Was 'Well Timed' For His Career
Bloom recently joined other celebrities, including Tom Brady and Kim Kardashian, at the luxurious wedding ceremony for Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice.
At the event, the actor was seen mingling with various women and generally having a good time as a newly single man.
In a chat with the Daily Mail, PR expert Chad Teixeira said the split between the couple has been "incredibly well-timed" for Bloom, whether it happened "intentionally or coincidentally," as it seemingly affords him the opportunity to launch a "soft rebrand" after being in the "Roar" singer's "shadow" for years.
"The breakup has created a brand window for Orlando, and one that he's stepping into with just the right amount of presence," Teixeira claimed. "He's not chasing the spotlight, but he's not hiding either. That's a savvy move in today's fame economy, and it'll stand him in better stead when Katy's fame is disappearing more than ever."

The "Pretty Boy Swag" musician, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) at 2:50 a.m. local time on Sunday, Aug. 3, per online inmate information. He was booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to initial reports from TMZ, Variety and NBC Los Angeles. Per Variety, the 35-year-old rapper was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over during a Sunday morning traffic stop at Melrose and Genesee. Officers then discovered a firearm in the vehicle, both Variety and TMZ reported, citing the LAPD. Online records indicate that Soulja was later booked at 6:18 a.m. on a felony charge. It is not immediately clear why the traffic stop was conducted. The LAPD and a recent legal representative for Soulja did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for further information and comment on Sunday. On Saturday night, Soulja celebrated his birthday at a nightclub in L.A., as seen in footage he shared on his Instagram Stories. Earlier in the day, he premiered new music on a Twitch stream, several months after he dropped his most recent album, The Influence, in February. Soulja's arrest comes nearly four months after he was ordered to pay a former assistant nearly $4 million when a California jury found him liable in connection with a 2021 lawsuit, in which the assistant alleged he sexually assaulted her and held her captive. At the time, the "Kiss Me Thru the Phone" rapper told Rolling Stone that he "never done any of the things they're accusing me of." An attorney for the musician told PEOPLE that "the evidence does not support the verdict." "It is unfortunate that aspersions and misperceptions of a culture were allowed to influence the trial," the statement from Soulja's legal representation read. "Mr. Way fully intends to pursue his post-trial remedies and to fight for a just result in this case." In a separate statement, the woman's attorney, Ron Zambrano, said his client was "vindicated" and that they were "looking forward to moving on to the punitive damages phase of the case.' A second phase of the trial will now determine punitive damages, as was reported at the time. Read the original article on People

‘Together' Ending Explained: BRB, Dying

Let's talk about that wild ending to the Alison Brie/Dave Franco body horror Spouses Alison Brie and Dave Franco took their closeness to a whole new level in 'Together.' The couple stars in Neon's latest horror flick, a disgusting romance about Tim (Franco) and Millie (Brie), who get closer than they ever wanted. The film gradually escalates its body horror premise, building to an unforgettable finale. From writer/director Michael Shanks, 'Together' released in theaters nationwide on Wednesday, July 30, after a Sundance Film Festival premiere. Neon acquired distribution rights to the film worldwide for a reported $17 million, soon launching a humorous marketing campaign playing off of Brie and Franco's real-life marriage. Meet the Man with the Booming Voice Tom Holland's Spider-Man Gets an Old School Spidey Suit for 'Brand New Day' | Video Now that 'Together' is in theaters, audiences can finally talk about the crazy conclusion and what comes next for Tim and Millie. Be warned that this article will contain major spoilers for 'Together.' If you don't want to know about the ending of this body horror romance, go check out the movie first and then come back. You can even make it into a date night! What happens in 'Together'? 'Together' follows Tim and Millie, a couple at different places in their lives. As Millie starts a new job and seeks to take the next step in their relationship, Tim keeps one foot in the past. He struggles to fully commit and wants to perform in his friends' band. You know the type. After Tim and Millie move to an isolated house in the countryside for Millie's new teaching job, the pair stumble upon a mysterious cave in the woods. Tim drinks from a pool of water before they leave the next morning. Following this night, Tim finds himself magnetically drawn toward Millie. When they make contact, their skin begins fusing together — when they wake up, after they kiss, and during sexual intercourse. Each time, they tear themselves apart (which is just as painful to watch as it sounds), not fully understanding what's going on. Eventually, Millie starts being pulled to Tim in a similar fashion, with the pair gradually losing control of their own bodies. The fusion gets more severe, with their bodies sinking into each other's whenever they make contact. The couple takes muscle relaxants to keep the transformations at bay. At one point, Millie uses an electric saw to cut their arms apart. How does 'Together' end? After she saws their arms, Millie goes to get her car keys from their new neighbor, Jamie (Damon Herriman). There, she learns that the cave was used by a cult that fuses couples together into single beings in a ritual meant to create stronger unions. Jamie himself is a result of this ritual, the fusion of two men who underwent the process. Millie returns to Tim, who attempts to commit suicide to keep things from getting worse. Before he can, Millie collapses from a wound she suffered in a confrontation with Jamie. She begins to bleed out, asking Tim to post 'brb, dying' on her social media — a callback to a conversation they had earlier after discovering the Facebook page of a couple that disappeared in the area. In a bid to save Millie's life, Tim allows their arms to fuse together, effectively stopping the bleeding in an ultimate show of commitment. Tim puts on the song '2 Become 1' by the Spice Girls (Millie's favorite band). The pair allows the process to take its course while embracing. The film concludes with Millie's parents arriving at her new house. This impending visit is alluded to throughout the movie. When they knock on the door, a previously unseen individual opens the door — the apparent result of Tim and Millie's fusion. Let's call them 'Tillie.' What does the ending mean? Like many horror movies (especially in the modern era), 'Together' has parallel functions as a frightening thrill ride and a thematic journey. Shanks' film is a transparent metaphor for commitment and codependency within romantic relationships — particularly for Tim. From the beginning of the film, Tim both struggles to commit to Millie and refuses to leave. His life feels wholly intertwined with hers, yet he expresses no desire to dive deeper into the relationship. It's not as if he dislikes Millie, or even longs to leave her. He simply feels more stuck than comfortable. Tim fears a loss of individuality, informed by a traumatic childhood event involving his parents. He manages to take steps with Millie, but anything greater would feel like a sacrifice of self. The ending of the film literalizes this idea, allowing Tim to overcome his fear by committing in the ultimate form. He sacrifices his individuality by becoming one half of a pair in the truest sense. Tim's fear of losing Millie trumps his fear of losing some perceived sense of freedom. Only one of these, Tim realizes, would be a true loss. Who plays Tillie? Given the newness of the film, it has not officially been reported who plays the fusion of Tim and Millie in the film's final scenes. No actor is listed in the credits. Since the figure at the movie's end eerily resembles both Brie and Franco, it seems likely that Tillie is a digital composite of the two actors. What happens next? It's hard to say what happens after the credits roll in 'Together.' Tim and Millie appear to have found peace as this singular individual, much the same as Jamie's two halves made a cohesive whole after undergoing the process. The film ends on the brilliant punchline of Millie's parents arriving (following several teases throughout the film) in the aftermath of mayhem. When Tillie answers the door, they do so in a nonchalant manner. It's unclear whether they intend to explain the situation to Millie's parents or simply say, 'I think you're at the wrong house.' Either solution feels like it's opening a can of worms. There's also the dreaded third option. In the movie's final moments, audiences see that Tillie's house now has the symbol of the body-fusing cult on their front porch (just like Jamie). This could signal that Tim and Millie are fully invested in the horror situation they've found themselves in — to the point that they're willing to put Millie's parents through the same process. IT: Welcome to Derry - key info - Confirmed to arrive in October 2025- The season will have nine episodes - It will take place before the events of the 2017 feature film.- A first trailer has been released- Cast confirmed including Bill Skarsgård IT: Welcome to Derry looks poised to whisk viewers back to the nightmare-inducing world of Stephen King's It. First announced back in 2022, this HBO prequel show hails from the creative team behind the two recent feature adaptations, Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. Andy Muschietti directed several episodes with Fuchs on producing and scripting duties. It marks the second small-screen appearance of sewer-dwelling clown Pennywise after he first terrorized a generation in the cult classic 1990 miniseries. Fans of the door stopper tome who are familiar with those existing adaptations are in for a treat. This upcoming serialized take is heading back in time to three eras of Pennywise's reign previously unexplored onscreen. As it goes, we've accumulated all the latest info on the series, from its tentative release date down to the rumors about future seasons, so you can get your fill of everything related to It: Welcome to Derry right here. Does It: Welcome to Derry have a release date? Initially slated for a Halloween 2024 release, the premiere was pushed back in light of the writers strike. HBO Max has now confirmed it will arrive in October 2025, with an exact release date not yet announced. The nine-episode first season started filming in downtown Port Hope, Ontario in May 2023, taking a significant pause for the writers strikes, eventually wrapping in August 2024. We now know it's coming to our screens in time for the spookiest season of all, and a new social media post read: "ll roads lead to Derry. First stop: #SDCC. #ITWelcomeToDerry is coming this October to HBO Max." Anyone planning on visiting San Diego Comic Con is in luck, as they've teased that will be their "first stop", so horror fans can expect to see something big there. Outside of that, we'll have to wait until October to dive back into Stephen King's terrifying world once again. It: Welcome to Derry: Has a trailer been released? In May, we got a first proper look at Welcome to Derry which I described as "delightfully" creepy in my trailer reaction. The trailer takes us back to the Stephen King's cursed fictional town of Derry, and introduces us to some of the residents who are unlucky enough to be haunted by its dark secrets. Another teaser clip is 7 seconds long and opens with a group of kids pushing their bikes beneath a bridge as a train passes overhead. One girl asks "What did you see?" and a boy responds "A clown" as we see the little tyke pulled underwater by a rotting arm. It: Welcome to Derry Cast A story like IT: Welcome to Derry demands a sprawling ensemble and the lineup is stacked: Jovan Adepo Chris Chalk Taylour Paige James Remar Stephen Rider Bill Skarsgård Dean Yool Madeleine Stowe Alixandra Fuchs Kimberly Norris Guerrero Tyner Rushing Dorian Grey Thomas Mitchell BJ Harrison Peter Outerbridge Shane Marriott Chad Rook Joshua Odjick Morningstar Angeline Rudy Mancuso Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk and James Remar were all announced back in April 2023 by HBO Max– but their roles remain, like most of the cast, under wraps. It appears Adepo might be playing Mike Hanlon's father, Will, as early promotional photos show him in military uniform with his surname stitched onto his attire. Well over a year later, Deadline announced Bill Skarsgard's return as the clown Pennywise. Skarsgard performed in the 2017 and 2019 It movies, delivering a performance that carries echoes of Tim Curry's Pennywise from the '90s miniseries yet is entirely his own. It: Welcome to Derry story and rumors Described as a prequel series, IT: Welcome to Derry will take place before the events of the 2017 feature film. HBO's official logline is pretty brief: "Set in the world of Stephen King's IT universe, IT: WELCOME TO DERRY is based on King's IT novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films IT and IT Chapter Two." According to reports, it revolves around what Andy Muschietti terms "interludes" from King's novel. In the book, we learn details about the history of Derry and Pennywise's previous attempts to bring havoc to the town from Mike Hanlon. This first season runs 9 episodes long and is set to explore a specific set of events depicted in Hanlon's writing, namely; the burning of the Black Spot. Because the film adaptations shifted the action from the 1950s to the 1980s, these earlier periods will also be nudged forward. The main story of the show will take place in 1962 – exactly 27 years before the story depicted in the 2017 film – and unravel the story of the Black Spot. In the novel, we learn about the Black Spot from Hanlon's father, Will, who recants the tale to him from his hospital bed. During Will Hanlon's stint in the Air Force, he and his fellow airmen open a bar for Black patrons which is targeted by white supremacists. During the ensuing tragedy, Pennywise manifests in the form of a giant bird, snatching its first victim. While the focus this time around is on new characters and new scenarios, the Muschiettis assure fans that familiar themes will resonate into the show such as friendship, loss and the power of unified belief, but in addition, Andy told Entertainment Weekly that the show "focuses also on the use of fear as a weapon, which is one of the things that is also relevant to our times." What's most exciting is that this will bring to the screen moments from King's extensive It lore that have previously only existed on page. Will there be future seasons of It: Welcome to Derry? As it stands now, the plan for the series is to roll out three seasons — each delving into a specific epoch of Pennywise's reign in the small Maine town. Muschietti, in an interview with Radio TU, explained his plan for what happens beyond season one. 'It's a story that's based on the interludes of the book. The interludes are basically chapters that reflect Mike Hanlon's research… For 27 years, it's the guy trying to figure out what it is, what did it, who did it, who saw it, and all that stuff. 'So they talk about catastrophic events from the past, like the fire in the Black Spot…. the massacre of the Bradley Gang, a gang of bank robbers in the '30s… and the explosion of the Kitchener Ironworks. Every time [Pennywise] comes out of hibernation, there is a catastrophic event that happens at the beginning of that cycle." Each season's story is slated to unravel 27 years before the first. Muschietti goes on to tease: "There's a reason why the story is told backwards. So the first season is 1962, the second season is 1935, and the third season is 1908.' It's hard to imagine a series based on a popular property such as IT would fail to score a season two renewal, so we'd hazard a guess and say a sophomore season will likely drop in late 2026 or early 2027.
