Naga Vamsi To Fans: ‘Telugu War 2 Must Beat Hindi Version At Box Office'
With Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's action thriller, War 2, just a few days away from its much-anticipated release, the anticipation surrounding the film is reaching fever pitch. To keep the buzz high, the makers recently hosted a pre-release event for the film's Telugu version in Hyderabad. Held amid much fanfare and in the presence of thousands of NTR fans, the event celebrated the upcoming pan-India spy thriller starring Bollywood's superstar and Tollywood's much-loved actor.
But it was Naga Vamsi's fiery comments that stole the show at the event. The producer issued a bold challenge to Telugu fans and urged them to ensure the Telugu version's box office collections surpass the Hindi version.
'Looking at this electrifying ambience, it feels like we are not sending NTR to Bollywood, but welcoming Hrithik to Tollywood in a grand manner," Vamsi said.

Declaring War 2 as a 'proper Telugu film,' Vamsi praised director Ayan Mukerji for portraying NTR in a way 'better than Tollywood directors to date.'
'When you walk out of the theatres, you will feel proud of how director Ayan Mukerji has portrayed our brother NTR, in a much better way than Tollywood directors to date," he said.
He went on to issue a rousing challenge to fans, saying, 'We must show ten times the love we showed for Devara. The Telugu version must collect at least 1 rupee more than the Hindi version's nett collection. This is your responsibility."

Why Naga Vamsi Wants Telugu Box Office Domination
The producer emphasised that the success of War 2 is not just about numbers, but it's an opportunity to showcase NTR's star power nationwide. Vowing to stop recommending films if audiences feel let down, he said, 'Just as you have expected, we are grandly landing War 2. We are now leaving the film to you on August 14. NTR has made us proud many times. We must make him proud with War 2. I assure you, no fan will be disappointed. I will never ask you to watch any movie in the future if you feel otherwise."

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra, War 2 is one of the most anticipated action thrillers of the year. The film, bringing together two massive stars from different industries, will see an enormous competition between the Hindi and Telugu versions after Vamsi's challenge.
Also starring Kiara Advani in a bold, never-seen-before role, Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe sees Hrithik Roshan return as the super-spy Kabir, while Jr NTR joins as the enigmatic Vikram. The film is set against a backdrop of intense personal conflict and high-stakes espionage.

The total tickets sold in top national chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis for the opening day, as at 11:30pm on 11th August, 2025, stand at 50,000. A final PIC ticket count of 1,50,000 plus can be expected, making it very eligible for a Rs 30 crore plus net Hindi opening. War 2 (Hindi) Sells 50,000 Tickets In Top Chains For Day 1, Two Days Out War 2's Telugu version bookings should start tomorrow, and the bookings are expected to be heartening. However, considering the fact that it is, at the end of the day, a Bollywood movie and not a conventional Tollywood biggie which gets support from the local diaspora audience without much effort, the bookings are not expected to be bumper. The all India day 1 expectations are pinned at Rs 55 crore net, with day 2 numbers expected to be over Rs 60 crore net. Since Hindi films are known to trend better than Tamil films due to less exhaustion of audiences on the opening day, it is expected that War 2 will eventually take the lead provided it lives up to its hype. Actor Piloo Vidyarthi has shared her disappointment after learning that a large portion of her role in 'Sarzameen', directed by Kayoze Irani, was removed from the final cut of the film. Speaking to News18, Piloo reflected on the performance of rookie actor Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. While she praised his kind nature, she noted that he still has a long way to go in terms of acting depth. 'Acting depends on your life experiences—how you have lived your life," she reflected. 'He was very nice to me, clicked photos. But I think he needs to have some depth. Star kids are also under a lot of pressure to live up to their parents. And Ibrahim comes from a family of big achievers. They have seen attention since forever. No one is bad," she said. In the same interview, Piloo revealed that nearly 80% of her scenes were left out. 'They didn't retain even 20% of what was shot,' she said. 'I was disappointed, so I'm not promoting the film. Yes, we can talk about it since it has released, but I wasn't used at all.' She also commented on the film's structure and direction. 'The makers have gone wrong somewhere because the director struggled to piece together the narrative,' she said. 'Beech mein main phas gayi hoon, na sar hai na zameen hai,' she added, using a Hindi phrase that means she felt stuck and confused by the end result. Piloo, who had prepared seriously for her part, added that it was upsetting to see her efforts reduced to almost nothing. 'These things happen in our journey, so that's okay. But yes, it's disappointing when you prepare for a role, and it's reduced to nothing.' Sarzameen has faced criticism since its release, and Piloo's comments have now added to the conversation around the film's production choices and performances.
