As the Houston Texans set to begin a two-day mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 10, there is one simple question on everyone's minds.

Hampered by what is being referred to as a 'tight shoulder muscle,' Houston's starting quarterback has yet to throw this offseason, causing ESPN to pose the following question: "Will C.J. Stroud throw at minicamp?"
"Coach DeMeco Ryans said he has "no concerns" about Stroud, who is dealing with general soreness in his right shoulder, not throwing during OTAs." ESPN Texans' reporter DJ Bien-Aime wrote.
"The Texans have a new offensive coordinator in Nick Caley and it would behoove them to have Stroud get some reps with a new offense. It doesn't make or break the offseason, but it probably won't become a distraction. Still, it would be good to see Stroud throw in minicamp."

Stroud, the 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year, is coming off an impressive sophomore campaign. He threw for 3,727 yards and 20 touchdowns last season, while leading the Texans to their second straight postseason.

Entering 2025, Stroud is looking forward to working with his new offensive coordinator.
"He is all about me taking full ownership, running the show, and that's what I want." Stroud said in late-April of Caley. "So, it's really been really cool just to see that he's bought into me and he doesn't really know me well yet."
Despite not throwing during OTAs, there is plenty that Stroud was able to take away from just being on site. "You get mental reps out here. I mean being out here, he's involved in all the communication, he's tapped in, he's into it, so I've been very pleased when he's out here." Caley said of Stroud recently.
Houston fans will just have to wait and see whether Stroud will throw at minicamp.

The Wisconsin football team is in a great position to land composite 4-star running back Amari Latimer after a successful official visit at the beginning of the month, but that's not stopping the Badgers from putting on the full-court press. Advertisement Latimer is a highly sought-after running back prospect in the 2026 class. He holds offers from 47 Division I schools, including Wisconsin and some of the biggest programs in the country like Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and many more. Wisconsin got him on campus for an official visit and took advantage of it. The Georgia native was scheduled to take an official visit to Michigan the following week, but canceled it and actually made a return trip to Madison, taking an unofficial visit. While on his visit, he spent some time with his potential offensive line, including current 2026 commits Maddox Cochrane and Benjamin Novak. Both posted pictures on social media, putting the pressure on the 4-star back. But it's not just the offensive line showing Latimer that he's wanted in Madison; arguably the biggest and most consistent recruiter in the 2026 class is 3-star receiver Tayshon Bardo. Bardo has been very vocal in his efforts to recruit fellow visitors to join him in the 2026 class for the Wisconsin football team. The Badgers and their recruits are making it extremely clear they want Latimer to be a part of their 2026 class. Right now, the class has 11 committed players, putting them as the 38th-ranked class in the country according to the 247Sports Team Rankings. Advertisement If the Badgers are able to add Latimer, he would likely be considered the crown jewel of the class. Latimer is expected to finish out the rest of his visits at Georgia Tech (June 13) and Georgia (June 20) before he announces his decision. Right now, things are looking positive for the Badgers.
