Goal of the season contender as Aboukhlal scores with stunning scissor-kick
PARIS (AP) — Toulouse winger Zakaria Aboukhlal has scored a stunning scissor-kick goal against Le Havre in the French league.
The 25-year-old Dutch player put Toulouse in front on Sunday with his left foot when he connected with a lofted ball from Shavy Babicka in the Le Havre area.
With his back to the goal, close to the penalty spot, Aboukhlal rose and unleashed an acrobatic shot that hit the right post and went into the back of the net.
It was Aboukhlal's seventh league goal this season.

Associated Press PARIS (AP) — Iga Swiatek's bid for a record fourth consecutive French Open championship will need to go through No. 1-ranked Aryna Sabalenka after both delivered straight-set victories Tuesday to set up a showdown in the semifinals. Swiatek defeated Elina Svitolina 6-1, 7-5 in the quarterfinals for a 26th consecutive win at Roland-Garros, where the longest unbeaten run by a woman is 29 matches by seven-time tournament champion Chris Evert. Swiatek is trying for her fifth trophy overall on the red clay in Paris, where she has won four of the past five. Sabalenka ousted 2024 Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen 7-6 (3), 6-3 to reach the semifinals in Paris for the second time. All three of Sabalenka's Grand Slam titles came on hard courts — two at the Australian Open and one at the U.S. Open. Associated Press MUNICH (AP) — Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has turned down a proposed move to Saudi club Al Hilal because he wants 'to play at the highest possible level.' Fernandes confirmed Tuesday that he had received an 'exciting offer' from the Riyadh-based club to switch after what was a disappointing season for United. 'They waited for me to think about my future, because I said only if Manchester thought it was the time to move on, that I'd be willing to do so,' Fernandes said through an interpreter. 'I talked to the gaffer, Ruben Amorim, and at the time he asked me not to go. I then talked to Man United. They said they didn't want to sell me. If I wanted to go, I could, but they didn't need the money, they didn't need to sell me.'
