3 offensive tackles the Rams could target on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL draft
The Los Angeles Rams are entering the offseason with arguably two needs at the offensive tackle position. Starting blindside protector Alaric Jackson is slated for free agency, and right tackle Rob Havenstein is an aging asset who isn't guaranteed to return in 2025. That means general manager Les Snead may draft multiple offensive tackles in the 2025 NFL draft.
Snead has done an outstanding job finding value in late-round tackles. After all, Jackson was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2021, and Havenstein was a 2015 second-rounder. With a need for at least one developmental tackle on the roster, we've identified three prospects Snead could target in the later rounds of the 2025 NFL draft.
Hollin Pierce | Rutgers
Hollin Pierce was one of the most intriguing tackle prospects on the all-star circuit this year. Pierce checked into the East-West Shrine Bowl as a 6-foot-7, and 342-pound specimen with historically impressive arm length (nearly 37 inches). There are some technical warts to work through, but the Rutgers standout possesses all of the required tools.
Logan Brown | Kansas
Kansas' Logan Brown got somewhat lost in the Senior Bowl hype, but he quietly enjoyed a productive week in Mobile. Brown is an outstanding athlete with plus-level mobility on tape. That always appeals to Sean McVay and his creative offensive scheme.
Gerard Christian-Lichtenhan | Oregon State
Gerard Christian-Lichtenhan was probably the most impressive tackle at this year's East-West Shrine. He's a legit 6-foot-8 towering prospect with nearly 36 inch arms. Christian-Lichtenhan moves incredibly well for a tackle prospect with intimidating size.

Packers releasing two-time Pro Bowler Jaire Alexander after contract dispute
The Green Bay Packers are releasing two-time Pro Bowler and two-time second-team All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander, according to reports Monday morning. The 28-year-old has played a combined 14 games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, as he has struggled with injuries. Jaire Alexander has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with the Packers. AP Alexander signed a four-year, $22 million contract extension in 2022. He and Green Bay explored trade options this offseason before he was then asked to restructure his contract and take a pay cut ahead of the upcoming season. Alexander seemingly did not want to restructure his deal, and now came the decision to cut ties. Jaire Alexander was selected with the 18th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Getty Images Before his injuries, Alexander had been one of the league's premier defensive backs since he joined the Packers as a first-round pick in 2018. In 2020, he reached his first Pro Bowl and received his first second-team All-Pro nod. He earned the same honors in 2022 after an injury-plagued 2021 season.

Broncos predicted to take a step back in 2025
Broncos predicted to take a step back in 2025 The Denver Broncos took a huge step forward last season, reaching the NFL playoffs with a 10-7 record while starting a rookie quarterback. Many fans and pundits now expect the club to take another leap in 2025. Not everyone is confident the team will continue progressing, though. Touchdown Wire's Jarrett Bailey recently released his 2025 record predictions for each team, and he has the Broncos taking a step backward this fall. Bailey has predicted Denver will go 8-9, finishing behind the Los Angeles Chargers (9-8) and Kansas City Chiefs (14-3), above only the Las Vegas Raiders (8-9) in the AFC West. "Denver's defense will be one of the best in the league, but the offense will take a step back with a lack of top weapons," Bailey wrote for Touchdown Wire. It will be fascinating to track how that prediction ages in 2025 as quarterback Bo Nix enters his second season. Sean Payton's squad averaged 25 points per game in 2024, which ranked 10th in the NFL. Bailey expects two fewer wins and worse offensive production this year. Time will tell. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Rams star named 'biggest success story' of next generation of defenders
Rams star named 'biggest success story' of next generation of defenders The Los Angeles Rams defense is full of emerging talent. From reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse to fellow edge rushers Braden Fiske and Byron Young, this unit is ascending at the right time. But The Ringer's Diante Lee said one Rams defender could see a bigger rise in 2025 and turn into a Pro Bowl player: defensive tackle Kobie Turner. Lee said on The Athletic Football Show that Turner is "the biggest success story of this next era of guys" because of where he came from and who he replaced in Aaron Donald. Lee added that Turner and reminds him of Baltimore Ravens' star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike. "I think that Kobie Turner might be the biggest success story of this next era of guys," Lee said, "because of the expectations were relatively low for a guy that's drafted where he was drafted and coming into a position where you're now filling the shoes of 99 [Donald]. "It's not that he reminds me of Aaron Donald, but the guy that he does remind me of is Nnamdi Madubuike, at times, where it's like — good at everything. He's solid across the board." Madubuike is a good comp for Turner because of a similar career trajectory. Madubuike was a third-round pick in 2020 but didn't see huge development until his fourth season when he tallied 15.5 sacks and made his first Pro Bowl. Turner, also a third-round pick, is producing more at a faster pace than Madubuike — with nine sacks as a rookie in 2023 and eight sacks in his second year this past season. Turner was never going to replace Donald in the middle of the defense. The Rams knew that, too, and drafted other complementary pieces to support Turner on the interior. But considering how good Turner has looked in just two seasons, it's not a stretch to think he could develop into a Pro Bowl player in his third NFL season.
