Rock star Dave Edmunds critically ill in hospital after dying in wife's arms from cardiac arrest
Rock icon Dave Edmunds is in a critical state in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest and dying in his wife's arms before he was revived. The 81-year-old, who made Christmas number one with his hit song I Hear You Knocking, is said to have died in his wife's arms before being resuscitated. The musician is now in hospital with brain damage and severe memory loss.
Dave's devastated wife shared the news in a Facebook post, where she recalled the terrifying moment in which Dave had CPR performed on him by a nurse. In the post, she wrote: "My beloved husband of 40 years has had a major cardiac arrest".
Cici explained that Dave had "died in my arms while I desperately tried to keep him alive". She added that a nurse was with her at the time and performed "heavy CPR" on the rockstar.
Devoted wife Cici revealed the nurse said she was "gonna stop" as "Dave is gone" but Cici "refused to give up" and the nurse continued "heavy duty CPR" on the star, the Mirror reports.
She then revealed "by a miracle" Dave was revived by doctors at an intensive care unit operating room.
However, the incident has left Dave with brain damage, severe memory loss and is 'at risk' of another cardiac arrest as his wife said he has a "long journey ahead of him".
Cici also admitted she has "PTSD from the horrific experience".
She concluded the post: "Dave will have a very long journey ahead of him if he survives. We both have. But knowing that there are kind hearted people such as you all makes this tremendously difficult journey a little easier. Bless you all. Sending you all much love and light and always."
Cici was flooded with messages of love and support by fans as the comments as one wrote: "All my love, support and prayers to Dave, and please stay on your road to recovery, CiCi."
Another penned: "Sweet Cicci. The nightmare you both are going through is unimaginable... All my [heart] your way..."
A third commented: "Dear Cici, what you're both going through is unbelievable, and I hope it all comes to a happy end! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and wish you both all the be".
Dave was born in Cardiff and had a string of hits throughout his career in the 1970s and 1980s including his Christmas number one.

Prince Harry's 'sadness' at losing out to Prince William is 'price to pay' in bitter rift
Just days after a close friend of both Harry and William announced the birth of his first child, Jennie Bond has shared how the news could push the royal brothers even further apart The Duke and Duchess of Westminster, who are good friends of both Prince William and Prince Harry, announced the birth of their first child. Both princes have a long history with the couple, with William and Harry's friendship with Hugh Grosvenor going back years. The Duke is even godparent to Prince George, and also reportedly to Prince Archie. With a new baby in the mix, and Harry and William's feud seemingly still raging on despite the rumours of peace talks within the Sussex camp and royal family, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond has revealed how the tiny tot could drive an even bigger wedge between the royal brothers. Jennie's comments come after news that Prince Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope. The royal expert told the Mirror that despite the joyous news of the baby girl's birth, the Duke and Duchess could be caught in the middle of the warring brothers if they are considering either prince for a role as godfather. Jennie said: 'As with a marriage break-up, many of William and Harry's friends have been left feeling obliged to take sides. Hugh was good friends with both William and Harry but, since the brothers' dramatic rift, the Duke Of Westminster has had to navigate a tricky path. 'And it seems he has largely sided with William, (at least in public). It was William who was invited to the big wedding, he was an usher, and William who stood alongside Hugh and his new wife Olivia cheering on Aston Villa in their exciting Champions League quarter final." Given the Duke's long history with William, Jennie believes: 'If there is to be a royal godfather to the couple's newborn daughter, the likelihood is that it will be William. There's already lots of 'cross pollination' between the families as far as godparents are concerned, so it seems likely that William will be asked.' While Harry is likely to be upset if William is chosen to the be the baby's godfather over him, Jennie said the decision would've been made easier by the Grosvenors due to Harry's current, and possibly ongoing, situation with the Firm. Jennie said: 'These awkward decisions are made slightly easier by the fact that Harry lives so far away, with no prospect of ever moving back to the UK. And that's not the ideal way to carry out any godparenting duties. 'So I think Harry will understand if he is left out and William is chosen as godfather. But it must still be rather sad for him to see his once close friends carrying on their lives without him, while William continues to enjoy the warmth and fun of their friendship. It is, however, the price he has to pay for making such damaging allegations and causing such a bitter rift with his family.' The Duke and Duchess of Westminster welcomed their baby daughter last week, announcing that the little girl's name is Cosima Florence Grosvenor. After revealing they were expecting their first child back in March, the couple announced the birth of their first child in a statement, saying the baby was born in London, adding: "Both the Duchess and Cosima are doing well. The Duke and Duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family." Cosima is of Greek and Italian origin. The name carries a beautiful, elegant meaning and is derived from the Greek word kosmos (κόσμος), which means order, harmony, or the universe.

'I usually avoid full coverage foundations but L'Oreal's new launch has changed my mind'
Mirror's shopping writer Grace swears by hydrating skin tints for her everyday base, but can L'Oreal's new full coverage 2-in-1 foundation and concealer compete? When it comes to foundation and base products, I've already leaned towards lower coverage skin tints. I love the hydrated, non-cakey finish they tend to leave on the skin. My go-tos include Ilia's Super Serum Skin Tint, £42, Sculpted By Aimee's Hydra Tint, £23, and Revolution's ultra-affordable Skin Blur Soft Focus Skin Tint, £5. However, recently I've been on the hunt for a fuller coverage foundation for those days when I'm looking for a little extra polish or want my makeup to last from the office straight through to post-work drinks. After trialling a few that felt thick, drying, and heavy, I finally stumbled on a winner. The product that's earned its spot in my routine is L'Oreal Paris' new Infallible Skin Ink 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer, priced at a purse-friendly £14.99. This clever 2-in-1 hybrid acts as both a foundation and concealer, offering buildable coverage with a soft matte finish that still feels lightweight and breathable on the skin What I love about this complexion product is that it's designed to blend seamlessly, leaving behind no unwanted lines or patches, so your skin still looks like skin, just smoother. At the same time, it delivers more coverage than a skin tint or tinted moisturiser, effectively covering spots, pigmentation, or blemishes without feeling cakey. And because it's a two-in-one product, it cuts out the need to layer concealer on top, helping to keep your base fresh and natural. It also uses fusion technology to give coverage that stays put for up to 48 hours, meaning no midday touch-ups are needed. Another bonus is that it makes a great handbag product to carry around due to its compact and small size. As I mentioned, touch-ups aren't really needed. However, if you're in the office and want a little extra coverage for the evening, you can easily slot this in your bag and use it on the go thanks to its handy doe-foot applicator. My skin is oilier, so if you have very dry skin, you might struggle with this product clinging to dry patches. To combat this, I make sure my skin is fully prepped with a hydration moisturiser and a milky toner or serum underneath. My favourite ones are BYOMA's Hydrating Milky Toner, £11.99, Curel's Moisture Facial Milk, £20, and Beauty of Joseon's Glow Replenishing Rice Milk, £15.50. I love the glow they give and how much they moisturise the skin, especially when prepping it for make-up.

Snoop, 53, has been in Scotland several times and is a diehard Celtic fan. We previously revealed how he wanted to take a few Hoops stars to the Oasis gig. He said: 'People know I never need an excuse to come visit Scotland but yeah for real. 'I tried to sign Noel back in 2009 when he had left Oasis, it just never quite happened – but the main thing is they have got back together. "If my boy Noel is going to hook me up with tickets it would be cool if a couple of the Celtic players could also come.' Around 200,000 fans are set to descend on Edinburgh over three days. Oasis kicked off their highly anticipated reunion tour in Cardiff last month – walking on to the stage together for the first time since breaking up 16 years ago.
