Midge Ure announces dates for ‘immersive' tour

Ure is best known for being the frontman of electronic pop group Ultravox, whose track Vienna (the title track from their studio album of the same name) is among the most well-known songs of the 80s.

Ure said: 'This is my two worlds coming together.
'Almost every album I have made over the last 40-plus years has featured at least one instrumental track. Instrumental music is one of my main loves.
'I realised most of these have never been performed live. So my intention on this tour is to seamlessly insert some of these atmospheric, cinematic instrumentals between a selection of hits and favourite album tracks.'
The tour promises to offer a 'rare and deeply personal concert experience' for fans by bringing together album favourites with 'cinematic instrumentals'.
Speaking about the tour, Ure said he wanted to 'take the audience on a journey rather than just play a list of individual songs'.

'This will be an immersive experience for the audience both visually and sonically,' he said.
Ure's musical career has spanned decades with his early years performing as part of bands such as Irish rockers Thin Lizzy, new wave groups Visage and Rich Kids before going on to have a successful solo career.
The Ivor Novello winner, who has also been nominated for a Grammy, became an OBE in 2005 for services to music and charity.
The musician went on to celebrate his 70th birthday with a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023.
The tour will take place in May and June 2026 and is expected to open in Bath with performances in Liverpool, Sheffield and Edinburgh.

Heartthrob 80s rocker 'every girl was in love with' sparks concern at recent show

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info A recent gig by a legendary rocker, formerly the pin-up of countless admirers, has left supporters deeply worried about his wellbeing. Despite boasting Grammy nominations and decades of stage experience, recent performances have set alarm bells ringing amongst devoted followers. Mötley Crüe enthusiasts are scratching their heads over why frontman Vince Neil hasn't "dropped the key a few semitones" to guarantee a more agreeable and enjoyable experience for audiences. A Reddit thread on r/CrappyMusic highlighted just how challenging it was to endure Mötley Crüe's return to the spotlight, following their alleged farewell in 2015 and subsequent comeback to live performances in 2018. Concert-goers are left wondering whether Neil's vocal difficulties stem from illness or whether they're simply witnessing the heartbreaking deterioration of a rock legend, reports the Mirror US. One supporter questioned: "I don't know why he doesn't do what Ozzy did at his last show and drop the original key a few semitones to a comfortable range so he can actually do what the fans paid him to do." Another chimed in: "I've seen people at concerts with that same 'I really don't want to be here' look. But they were working concessions." A third speculated: "Just Vince Neil 'singing' while casually looking down at the lyrics taped to the stage. Nothing to see here... and definitely nothing you'd want to hear." A fellow band devotee concurred, stating: "I noticed that too. I'm flabbergasted. How can he possibly be looking at lyric sheets? "He's been singing these songs for 40 years now! If he needs to be reading the lyrics, then he's in worse shape than we know about." Another devotee was left utterly crushed by the show, reminiscing about a period when the group was "killing it" merely a decade ago. They expressed: "Stop already, this is making me sad." A fellow supporter echoed the sentiment, joining the wave of disillusionment: "This is really sad." Some pondered how the years have taken their toll on the group. One penned: "I remember when every girl I knew was in love with this guy." Someone else contributed: "Zero energy or interest. The fact that people pay and support this is extraordinarily sad." A third revealed: "The rest of the band still sounds so good. Such a shame to see him a such a low level." Additional audience members questioned whether this indicated Neil has simply lost his passion for performing. One supporter proposed: "He looks like a high-school kid who was forced to sing lead in a concert. Uncomfortable and doesn't want to be there." Someone else penned: "The vocals are bad, energy low and he's reading the lyrics for possibly his most famous song with maybe the least amount of lyrics. Milk 'em all, Vince!". Admirers remain optimistic that this represents nothing more than a brief stumble and that Vince Neil will shortly reclaim his rockstar status. Regardless of any disappointments, there's no denying he continues to be an absolute rock legend.

Maura was transformed in this other-worldly shoot for Original Magazine, donning a series of eye-catching one-of-a-kind looks. 6 Maura looked incredible in one-of-a-kind pieces for the shoot Credit: Not known, clear with picture desk 6 Posing in latex, Maura showed off her evil-looking side for the pictures Credit: Brian Rankin 6 Maura is one of three cover stars for the latest Original Magazine Credit: Brian Rankin Donning latex and leather for some of the pics, the star channelled her vixen-side in a long, deep red wig for some pics, while in others she wore a sharp, stand out black bob. In another, Maura appeared to recreate a Grace Jones-style look in a full-body latex suit with a wide-brimmed black hat, which is tipped to the side and held in place by her hands, which boast long, razor-sharp pointed nails. Often staring down the camera to acclaimed photographer Ben Rankin, the high-end shoot comes after a brutally honest interview in which she admitted she struggled with her Love Island fame. First coming into the public eye alongside the likes of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury in Love Island UK's series five back in 2019, Maura has become one of the defining faces of the entire franchise. Coming in fourth place alongside Curtis Pritchard, Maura has since gone on to star on I'm A Celebrity, and land a hosting gig on Love Island USA's Aftersun alongside main host Ariana Madix. But before she found her feet, Maura admits to the mag that she found herself flailing under the pressure, pushed to take on a string of jobs she wasn't happy with after being advised to "strike while the iron was hot". "When I first came off Love Island, I didn't know this industry very well. I took on way too much, and things that I didn't necessarily enjoy at the time," she told the mag. "There were moments after Love Island where I was so unhappy. I was crying a lot… when I look back, it actually gives me some PTSD. "I'm so, so, so fortunate now that I've got such an incredible team around me and we trust each other. That has changed everything for me." Irish Maura credited her famed confidence on her mum, who raised her alongside her three siblings – and said that I'm A Celebrity, which she appeared on last year, remains "one of the best things she's ever done". Maura Higgins reveals Love Island USA return - just hours after being 'replaced' by new Aftersun host But she isn't afraid to acknowledge that part of her will always be tied to Love Island. While the star may have struggled to begin with, she is now known worldwide for both her collaborations with high-end fashion brands, photoshoots and reality TV appearances. But she says she's happy to help other islanders, especially Love Island USA stars, as they navigate their own path in fame. 'I get so excited to talk to these islanders about their experience. I always want to be that big sister and, you know, give advice and make them feel comfortable," she says. "I like to be there for them, because I have experienced it," Maura added. "I can give them advice. Maybe my advice won't always be the best, but I'll give it and I'll try to help them through." You can buy your copy for Original Magazine here. Jamie Dornan fans 'screaming' and 'drooling' as he strips off in sexy new advert

Belfast-born actor Jamie Dornan has got his fans hot and bothered thanks to his latest campaign where he strips off to show off his bulging muscles Jamie Dornan has delighted his adoring fans by stripping off and posing topless for his latest job following his rise to astronomical fame as Christian Gray. ‌ The Irish actor, 43, has combined his two passions for his latest campaign, Diet Coke and sea-swimming. The Tourist star is the new face of Diet Coke's This Is My Taste campaign and stars in the cheeky advert where he strips off to unveil his impressive muscles and gym-honed body. ‌ Sporting a pair of silver This Is My Taste swim trunks, Jamie plunges into chilly open water before taking a sip of his beloved Diet Coke can. It comes after Jamie was all smiles as he partied with Irish rap trio Kneecap at Glastonbury earlier this summer. ‌ Returning as Diet Coke's ambassador after last year's debut, the Belfast-born actor has said that he's all about celebrating individuality and has encouraged others to embrace their own tastes boldly. Of the new campaign, Jamie says: "Cold-water swimming is a passion that's become very important to me, it's my way of finding a moment for myself and I try to do it as often as I can. "I hope that giving a peak behind the scenes of my lesser-known passion, inspires others to take a moment for themselves, crack open an ice-cold Diet Coke, and explore their own personal tastes.' ‌ Following the release of the steamy new advert, Jamie's hot and bothered fans flocked to social media to gush over the actor. One quipped: "This entire Jamie Dornan and Diet Coke partnership was made specifically for me." "Jamie Dornan looks ravishing for the latest Diet Coke campaign," another echoed. While someone else enthused: "Didn't think it was actually possible but Jamie Dornan gets hotter and hotter with every single day that passes. This man is what all women want." ‌ "SCREAMING!!!! Jamie Dornan is literally carved from the Gods above. I'm drooling," someone else gushed. While Jamie may have a love for Diet Coke, in the past, he previously admitted that he 'manhandled' someone else's drink by spitting in a pint after a rude customer clicked their fingers at him. ‌ The actor who is best known for roles including Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey film franchise and The Fall had a varied career before finding fame. Last year, Jamie opened up about his time working behind the bar of a swanky pub in London's Knightsbridge, which is home to some of the world's richest people. ‌ Jamie, however, found himself on the receiving end of abuse from some regular punters, with one man in particular frequently pushing his buttons. In a new interview, he opened up about one incident which saw him hit back at the bloke, unbeknownst to him. In his 20s, Jamie found himself behind the bar of Tattersall Tavern, opposite Harrods before discovering global fame. "There was a guy who used to come in," he said. He went on to describe the man as having "horrible, floppy, blonde curtains". "Honestly, I can close my eyes now and I can picture this p***k's face," he added. ‌ Speaking to Sean Evans on his Hot Ones series, Jamie went on to say: "He used to come in and click his fingers at me. Listen, I'm about to admit something I'm ashamed of, but a couple times, I spat in his drink. "He always orders a gin and tonic, so you could sort of mix your spit in quite easily. I mean, that's what you get if you click your fingers at another human being. Sorry, I don't care. I just sat in glee while I watched him drink my saliva." Despite his impressive award nominations, Jamie branded this his "proudest moment".
