Joining him is country singer Orville Peck as Vega, alongside Jason Momoa ( Aquaman ) as Blanka, The Recruit star Noah Centineo as Ken, and Callina Liang ( Presenc e) as Chun-Li. WWE superstar Roman Reign, or Joe Anoa'i, and Andrew Koji ( Warrior ) are also entering the ring as Akuma and lead brawler Ryu, respectively, rounding out an eclectic ensemble cast.
Kitao Sakurai ( The Eric Andre Show ) helms the project, which begins production this August in Australia. While plot details remain under wraps, it is expected to follow the same premise as its 1987 arcade game, revolving around a tournament organised by M. Bison, the leader of the evil organisation Shadaloo.
News of the live-action Street Fighter movie first broke in April 2023, with Danny and Michael Philippou of Talk to Me fame originally set to direct. However, scheduling conflicts saw the brothers exit the project, with Sakurai taking over the reins. It was initially slated for release on 20 March 2026, but has been delayed indefinitely.
It remains to be seen how the film will bring the beloved legacy to the big screen, following the commercial and critical flop of Steven E. de Souza's 1994 adaptation. Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia starred in this iteration, accompanied by supporting performances by Byron Mann, Damian Chapa, Kylie Minogue, Ming-Na Wen, Wes Studi, and more.

Honda in the movie, as reported by Sean Ross Sapp. The 46-year-old is a familiar face in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling scene, beginning his wrestling career back in 2003 and has clinched over 10 championships over the years, including being a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. His casting marks yet another real-world wrestler to appear in the movie, joining the ranks of WWE stars Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns as Guile and Akuma, respectively. Edmond Honda, better known as E. Honda, is another staple in the Street Fighter game franchise, making his first appearance in 1991's Street Fighter II . Honda is a professional sumo wrestler and sentō (Japanese bathhouse) proprietor, who enters the martial arts tournament to prove that sumo wrestlers are among the greatest fighters in the world. In combat, Honda is known for his offensive charge attacks, including his iconic Hundred Hand Slap, where he attacks with a rapid flow of palm strikes. 'Ne Zha 2': Michelle Yeoh Leads Voice Cast For A24's English-Language Release
A theatrical collision between the West and East is on the way, as indie film distributor A24 and CMC Pictures have announced a team-up on an English-language version of Ne Zha 2 , the animated box office darling from China. Legendary's 'Street Fighter' Film Casts David Dastmalchian As Big Bad M. Bison
Legendary and Capcom's upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie might already have a pretty stacked roster of heroes, such as Callina Liang's ( Tell Me Everything ) Chun-Li and Andrew Koji's ( Warrior ) Ryu, but the film has now found the face of its lead villain, M. Bison, in David Dastmalchian. Announced via Deadline, this marks the biggest role to date for the 49-year-old actor, best known for his supporting roles in various superhero franchises, including Thomas Schiff in 2008's The Dark Knight , Kurt and Veb in the Ant-Man franchise, Abra Kadabra in the CW's The Flash , and Polka-Dot Man in 2021's The Suicide Squad . Dastmalchian also landed the leading role in the 2023 independent supernatural horror film Late Night with the Devil , playing the charismatic talk show host Jack Delroy.
