Why is BLACKPINK's Rosé being called out for US TV show appearance? Fans express frustration ahead of group world tour

Pink Villa22-05-2025

BLACKPINK has generated immense buzz with the announcement of their upcoming world tour, titled DEADLINE. However, the members have been preoccupied with their individual pursuits over the past few months and currently have some solo projects in the pipeline. Recently, Rosé's US show appearance was confirmed, but it sparked debate among fans, with some drawing connections to the broader BLACKPINK dynamic.
On May 21, Rosé 's appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show was broadcast. The BLACKPINK member exuded confidence and sass in an oversized blazer paired with formal trousers and a tie. She also took photos with the host and enjoyed herself while discovering her MBTI test results. While many fans delighted in seeing Rosé unwind and have fun without the pressures of work, others voiced discontent regarding her solo endeavors amidst the group's upcoming reunion and comeback plans.
With fans eagerly awaiting the group's reunion on stage, they couldn't help but wonder when and how the four members would get together to practice for their world tour. Scheduled to kick off at South Korea's Goyang Stadium on July 5, there's a little over two weeks left for the concert. However, Rosé was busy with his America TV show and Met Gala appearances, with Lisa and Jennie also being part of the latter besides their Coachella gigs. Jisoo was also busy with her brand ambassador commitments and other solo ventures.
As it will be BLACKPINK's first group activity following their 2023 Coachella stages and 2022 BORK PINK comeback, the anticipation for a thrilling show is skyhigh. However, the members dedicating a lot of time to their solo careers raised concern regarding them delivering half-hearted acts in the upcoming concerts. While some threw hateful comments at Rosé for her The Kelly Clarkson Show appearance, others defended her saying it was a pre-recorded episode, pointing at her outfit being the same as when she appeared there four months ago.

Toying around: Indians on the recent Labubu toy trend

If you've been doomscrolling through social media lately, chances are you've encountered the cute, yet eerie face of Labubu — the plush toy that the Internet is currently hooked on. Hanging from Ananya Panday's designer bag, featured on popular K-pop star Lisa's live streams, or unboxing videos of influencers trying to get a hold of the rare one they want, it is everywhere. 'Labubu has been popular in the Far East but has now become a global phenomenon. The past two months have seen a huge surge in their demand in India,' says Zohara Jamal, a popular lifestyle content creator. Subhashree Panneerselvam, a Chennai resident who recently visited Vietnam, corroborates. 'When I visited, I noticed Labubu toys being sold, especially at a store located inside a theme park. But I didn't know of the trend until I saw a reel on Instagram upon coming back. I regretted not having purchased one,' she shares. Fondly called 'ugly-cute' by fans, Labubu is a collectible character designed by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung in 2015. Inspired by Nordic mythology, the character was initially featured in Lung's picture book series The Monsters, where Labubu is depicted as a mischievous, elf-like creature, with a toothy grin and a playful demeanour. Later, it gained widespread popularity through a collaboration with Chinese toy company Pop Mart, which introduced the character as part of its blind box collectible series — a popular release in which each toy is sold in a sealed package. Nikhil Jain, who resells these collectibles online under the banner Hype and collectibles, adds, 'Tier 1 cities in India — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad — are blowing up now and ordering the toy. From Chennai, in fact, I get orders every day.' In the last six months, Hype and collectibles alone has sold around thousand Labubu toys and Nikhil estimates that at least one lakh Labubu toys could have been sold across online platforms, in India. Ayesha Alikhan, a psychologist, who has noticed people jumping on the bandwagon, says, 'I've been seeing many influencers carrying these dolls. I've also seen many kids as well as middle-aged women at UB City walking around with the dolls in their bags.' However, when the trend is assessed by the prices these toys fetch, India appears to be trailing behind the global craze. Dakshin Adyantha, co-founder (brand communications) of Ethinos, who has collected four Labubu toys so far from Mumbai, notes, 'The toys are priced as low as `3,000, which is still accessible to many. It is only when the demand surges will the prices go up further. That is how it works with collectables.'

BTS' RM says mental health worsened amid HYBE issues, had to rely on pills: ‘I cried all night, kept saying I was going to die'

BTS RM was discharged from the military on June 10 after 18 months of service, along with fellow band member Kim Taehyung. Though the two served at different military bases, both enlisted on the same day and were discharged from Chuncheon. Upon their return, the two held a comeback Weverse live, which was joined by BTS's oldest member, Kim Seokjin, and they spoke about how their MBTI had changed over the months. But once the live ended, both idols then held separate lives to talk to fans and share their experiences at the military base. However, what RM shared has deeply upset and angered fans. The K-pop idol revealed he was diagnosed with insomnia and couldn't sleep for two days straight due to everything happening at their agency, HYBE. Also read: 'Taehyung was so passionate': Award-winning director recalls how BTS' V got rid of IU's MV scene, cut his hair and enlisted the next day While all the BTS members recalled having a good time in the military, serving the nation, RM seemed to have had a hard time. The BTS leader shared with fans how physically and emotionally draining his service had been, especially with everything going on at his company, HYBE, around the same time. Last year and even now, BTS' agency led by Bang Si Hyuk has been embroiled in a number of controversies, ranging from the ADOR vs. Min Hee Jin fight, the NewJeans feud, and now a probe on Bang. Although RM didn't blame HYBE directly, fans connected the timing and felt he was clearly affected by it all. RM revealed that he had suffered from serious insomnia, so bad that at one point, he didn't sleep for 78 hours straight. 'They're sleeping right next to you, snoring and grinding their teeth. So… There was a time when I did not get a single minute of sleep for two days, for about 78 hours. That was toward the end of April. I mean, there were a lot of things happening outside the base. I remember thinking to myself, 'Oh, I'm going to die at this rate.' Like, I have to keep going with the daily schedule, but I'm running on no sleep. I'd be lying down and—those of you who have insomnia know what I'm talking about. I'm tired but I just can't fall asleep.' He kept questioning himself, wondering why he was struggling so much in the military when he had handled worse things in the past. 'Why are you so weak? You've been through more challenging times already. So why are you losing to things like sleep… or the military?' RM revealed he tried to push himself to be positive again and to go back to the roots, to go back to being 'Mr. Why Not?' He said, 'It was a way for me to try to hype myself up, but it doesn't really work when you're in the army. But I'm going to come around.' In the same livestream, RM shared that he had to get professional help during his service. The therapist diagnosed him with insomnia and gave him sleeping pills, which he's now been taking for 1 year and 2 months. A day before discharge, the K-pop idol revealed crying all night after his fellow comrades went to sleep and kept consoling himself that his military service had finally ended. After the livestream, fans showed RM support and praised his honesty. But there was also a lot of anger. Many fans were furious, not just at how harsh the military conditions sounded, but also at HYBE. Since RM mentioned this all started around the time HYBE was dealing with its internal drama, fans felt that maybe the company didn't protect him well enough.

Kim Kardashian backed off—Dating isn't coming easy for Tom Brady as insiders think he is still obsessed with with Gisele Bündchen

Tom Brady is reportedly struggling in the dating world (Getty Images) NFL legend Tom Brady might have conquered the football world, but his personal life seems to be stuck at the line of scrimmage. Nearly three years after his high-profile divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the 47-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion is reportedly struggling to find lasting chemistry in the dating scene—and insiders claim it's largely his own doing. Obsessed with the past? Tom Brady's dates reportedly include rants about Gisele Bündchen and self-pity Despite Tom Brady's fame, fortune, and elite athlete looks, sources say his emotional baggage is pushing away even the most interested women. According to 'Word's getting around that Tom's a whiny, flaky man diva and not much fun to be around.' The report paints a picture of a man still caught up in the past, unable to move on from his former relationship. Women who have gone on dates with Brady, insiders claim, often come away unimpressed—not because he's not attractive or successful, but because the former quarterback can't stop talking about how miserable he is. 'He whines about his ex and it just puts off any potential partners,' one source told Radar. The emotional wallowing hasn't just affected his everyday dating prospects—it's allegedly soured potential flings with A-list celebrities too. Even Kim Kardashian, once rumored to be flirting with the idea of dating the NFL star, has supposedly backed off. 'Even Kim Kardashian has given up the idea of dating him because he's wallowing around,' the source noted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Gisele Bündchen has moved on—leaving Tom Brady seemingly stuck in limbo While Bündchen enjoys a reportedly fulfilling relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente and embraces a modern, blended family dynamic, Brady's romantic life has remained stagnant. Friends say his current behavior is only making things worse. 'When he is on dates, he just talks about himself and how miserable he is,' one insider added. 'That is never attractive to the opposite sex.' Even Brady's Met Gala appearance—an event where star power usually shines—did little to improve his image. Though surrounded by admirers, onlookers claimed he seemed distant and disengaged. One source summed it up bluntly: 'Unless he changes his strategy, he's never going to be able to get back in the game.' Whether Brady can bounce back emotionally the way he did on the field remains to be seen.
