as the cover athlete for the video game's standard edition, which will cost $69.99 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X'S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch 2.
Chicago Sky forward Reese will be on the WNBA edition and Anthony, who is
set to be inducted
into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, will be on the superstar edition.
A fourth edition will feature all three players on the cover.

The Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty have been at the top of the standings all year after meeting in last year's WNBA Finals. By every measurement possible, they are the two best teams in the WNBA. Still, with veteran general managers and coaches, they both have shown that the best teams don't stand pat and hope their good fortune will continue. The Liberty struck first, officially signing Belgian superstar Emma Meesseman last week. She hadn't played in a WNBA game since 2022 as she focused on building up the Belgian national team, which just repeated its EuroBasket title. She also won two EuroLeague titles and two EuroLeague MVPs in her time away from the WNBA. Meesseman is a skilled, smart player who elevates her teammates, and signing her was a huge boon for New York. The move was especially prescient as Breanna Stewart went down with a bone bruise on her knee on June 26; she currently has no timetable for a return. On Sunday against the Connecticut Sun, Meesseman scored 11 points in her 2025 debut in 17 minutes, showing some rust early but appearing more comfortable in the second half. 'I think just giving them some minutes, some glue, moving the ball, hitting people open. Just beautiful basketball, being a part of that already in New York,' Meesseman said after the game. 'One of my mottos is to keep it simple. If it works, it works. If you see someone open and they cut, give them the ball and get a layup. It's easy.' Just a few hours earlier, the Minnesota Lynx made a big move to strengthen their roster, trading for the Wings' Dijonai Carrington, who was named the league's Most Improved Player in 2024 and was on the first All-Defensive Team. Minnesota sent Diamond Miller and Karlie Samuelson to Dallas, as well as a 2027 second-round draft pick, in exchange for Carrington. The move came one day after Napheesa Collier left the Lynx's blowout win over the Aces with an ankle injury. According to ESPN, Collier is expected to miss two weeks with the injury. Similar to Stewart, Collier is the heart of her team, and she will be missed as her 2025 MVP campaign gets put on hold. This makes Carrington's arrival even more important. Minnesota is already strong on defense, leading the league by a healthy margin in defensive rating at 95.1. But Carrington will give them even more of a bite on defense, as her play can be downright menacing to opponents. She's also already played with Lynx players Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman when all three were in Connecticut. While it remains to be seen how these moves will play out for the Liberty and Lynx — less than a week removed from their first Finals rematch of the season — the fact that both teams have been so aggressive shows they both expect to play for the title. Fans will not have to wait long to see how Meesseman and Carrington impact their respective teams, because for reasons that only the WNBA scheduling gods know, the Lynx and Liberty will face off three more times in a span of 10 days this month. Though with the Lynx likely without Collier for that stretch, it will be difficult to determine how well-matched these teams really are. Performer of the week: Sabrina Ionescu, New York Liberty Playing without Breanna Stewart, the New York Liberty struggled, losing consecutive games to the Sparks, Wings, Lynx and Sun over the last week and a half. On Sunday, playing in Connecticut, Sabrina Ionescu came alive. She scored 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Liberty break their losing streak in a 87-78 win over the Sun. Game of the week Indiana Fever at Phoenix Mercury, Thursday, 10 p.m. ET on League Pass: This is one worth staying up late for. Indiana has hit a hot streak at the right time, winning five straight ahead of Tuesday night's matchup with the Sparks, even without Caitlin Clark. Phoenix, meanwhile, has been struggling, losing five of its last seven. The two teams are both battling for home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, with the Mercury holding a slight advantage, so Thursday's game could be key for tiebreakers. 2025 WNBA trade deadline candidates include Marina Mabrey, Aaliyah Edwards
The 2025 WNBA trade deadline is quickly approaching, and there are several players to monitor as movement heats up. For the last several weeks, things have been fairly quiet on the trade front. In June, the Seattle Storm traded center Li Yueru to the Wings, and the Las Vegas Aces picked up Wings forward Nalyssa Smith in exchange for the team's 2027 first-round draft pick. However, on Sunday, the action picked up again. The Minnesota Lynx acquired Wings guard DiJonai Carrington in a three-player trade that also included Minnesota's 2027 second-round pick. Carrington's could signal another wave of moves. As the August 7 deadline approaches, here are some names to monitor: Marina Mabrey, guard, Connecticut Sun Mabrey made headlines over the offseason with a trade request. Connecticut brought Mabrey to the team during the 2024 season with the hopes of adding her to its quest for a championship. The title didn't happev and, in the offseason, the Sun parted ways with every starter and their head coach. Predictably, she asked for a trade, but Connecticut denied her request. That led to her agent ripping the franchise publicly, insinuating the team was forcing her to play when she didn't want to be there. Things have calmed down since then, and now a trade doesn't feel likely to happen. Still, it wouldn't be surprising if Mabrey brings the request back to the table. Aaliyah Edwards, forward, Washington Mystics Edwards was drafted by the Mystics with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. However, after starting 15-plus games last season, her minutes have diminished and so has her production. The former UConn Huskies forward is averaging career lows in nearly every major category, including minutes (13) and points (six). Edwards began the season with an injury, which forced the Mystics to turn to rookie Kiki Iriafen a lot sooner. Iriafen took advantage and carved out a lane in Washington's starting lineup. Edwards was left on the outside looking in as Washington turned to Iriafen and veterans Shakira Austin and Stefanie Dolson. In July, ESPN reported Washington had begun accepting offers for the second-year forward. If she is moved, the Valkyries or Chicago Sky, who could use productive depth, make sense. Other WNBA trade candidates Alysha Clark, guard, Seattle Storm: Clark has struggled since re-joining the Storm earlier this year, following three seasons between the Mystics and the Las Vegas Aces. She was pulled from the starting lineup after seven games and is averaging three points per game, production that hasn't been seen since her rookie season. Damiris Dantas, forward, Indiana Fever: It's hard to gauge what the Fever's plan is for Dantas. Her minutes have been all over the place and so has her production. That said, the Fever seem to have patience. A move probably isn't likely, but for a team wanting to continually stay in the contender conversations, reorganizing the bottom of the roster isn't out of reach. Kalani Brown, center, Phoenix Mercury: The Phoenix Mercury traded for Brown when they brought over Satou Sabally in a blockbuster trade in February. It was widely assumed the former Wings center would take over playing the five spot with franchise player Brittney Griner off to Atlanta, but that hasn't been the case. The Atlanta Dream have been playing good basketball throughout the season, and it's safe to say they've been one of the top teams in the league. One of the reasons is because of the system that head coach Karl Smesko has put in, and it has allowed the team to thrive in any situation. Another reason for their success is the talent that they have on the team, and they added some pieces in free agency that have helped throughout the year. One of those additions was Brittney Griner, who left the Phoenix Mercury to join the Dream. Griner has always been one of the dominant bigs in the league, and she's made an impact on the Dream since arriving. The Dream have needed Griner a little bit more than usual in the past few games because of the injury to Rhyne Howard, but she has stepped up to the plate. In their game against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday, Griner was ejected early in the third quarter after picking up two technical fouls. The ejection came when Griner was called for a foul while trying to get a rebound. She then went up to the referee to argue her case and was given the first technical. That then prompted Griner to get closer and more animated with the referee, and after some slight contact, Griner was given the second technical. Despite being ejected the Dream defeated the Wings in that game, 88-85. Griner was also dealing with a neck injury, which placed her on the injury report for their next game against her old team. Regardless of how she felt, she still showed love to her team on Instagram and got them hyped with a five-word caption that said, "Trust the process vs. Phoenix and the Lil Wayne song "Let It All Work Out" playing. Griner was out for that game against the Mercury, but the Dream were able to win that game as well in convincing fashion, 95-72.
