Ford Recalls Nearly 500,000 Vehicles, See If Yours Is Affected
Yet another recall from the Blue Oval According to a new report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration dated May 27, 2025, Detroit-based automaker Ford is issuing a recall affecting nearly half a million older iterations of its popular Explorer family SUV due to a potentially hazardous defect involving the vehicle and those around it on the road. The massive recall covers 492,145 Ford Explorers produced between June 11, 2015, and April 19, 2017, in the 2016 and 2017 model years. What caused this issue? The NHTSA says that the root of the cause may have resulted from a combination of factors, including a design change that added a foam donut to the adhesive side of the B-pillar panel which increased outward reaction force on the part, as well as, 'inconsistent usage of hand rollers used to ensure complete adhesion of the part to door sheet metal during installation at the vehicle assembly plant.' The Federal agency's report reveals that the Ford Motor Co. first recognized the problem as far back as July 4, 2019, when it published a technical service bulletin to direct dealers on how to repair loose driver side B-pillar trim appliques on Explorers due to potential lack of adhesive, which at the time, it did not consider it an 'unreasonable risk to safety.' This insight emerged from an in-depth investigation in which engineers scrutinized doors sourced from local scrap yards at Ford's Central Labs. They also delved into a collection of photographs depicting parts that were reported to have detached, focusing on the specifics of each claim. As of April 7, 2025, Ford had recorded 1,482 warranty claims linked to the troubling occurrence, affecting vehicles sold in the U.S. market between December 4, 2015, and February 10, 2025. The company said that there have been no reported accidents or injuries associated with this particular defect. Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton to reprise role in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Tom Felton is to reprise his role as Draco Malfoy for the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play. The actor, who starred in all the film adaptations of JK Rowling's fantasy novels, will make a comeback as Harry Potter's school bully on Broadway at the Lyric theatre in New York later this year. The production said he was the first actor from the films to reprise their role on stage, in what will be Felton's Broadway debut. He said: 'Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. 'It's surreal to be stepping back into his shoes – and of course his iconic platinum blond hair – and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.' Felton, 37, made his West End debut in the supernatural thriller 2:22: A Ghost Story in 2022. Yankees optimistic Giancarlo Stanton could elbow way into lineup soon
June 5 - Fingers seemingly crossed, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone implied good news is right around the corner for Giancarlo Stanton. Nearly two weeks after Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Stanton was "getting really close to doing a rehab assignment," Boone said on Wednesday that Stanton would be in New York and advance to next steps imminently. On May 25, Cashman told MLB Network Radio that Stanton was hitting off of a pitching machine and "doing everything." "I think he was doing baseball activities (but not live at-bats). He's probably headed up here, but I don't know the next step if it's a rehab assignment or what. Hopefully, we'll have that in the next 24 hours," Boone said, pointing to a Thursday update. Boone said he wouldn't "speak too soon" until conferring with the team and Stanton. Sitting in first place in the American League East entering play Thursday, the Yankees are second in baseball in home runs and slugging. Stanton, 35, was placed on 10-day injured list in late March and later transferred to the 60-day IL in May due to right and left elbow epicondylitis, an issue last season that resurfaced before spring training. The 2017 National League MVP with the Miami Marlins and a five-time All-Star, Stanton batted .233 with 27 home runs and 72 RBIs in 114 games last season.
