Triona McCarthy: Need a confidence boost? Slap on the tan, smooth your hair and cool your body with these beauties
A spray tan is brilliant but if I haven't got it together to book one, I have a secret weapon – AyuGlo Instant Tan (€14.50, ayucosmetics.com). This fast-drying tan is infused with truffle extract and allantoin. It blends effortlessly with your skin to deliver a beautifully subtle colour for covering up corned beef looking legs, veins and scars in a jiffy.
Another Irish instant I love is Bare by Vogue Instant Tan (€19, brownthomas.com). Just look at Vogue Williams, a great ambassador for her brand as she always has a perfect faux glow. This instant tan formula is enriched with goji berry, oatmeal, chamomile and pomegranate. So what else is out there that can give you a little confidence boost?

What's Up, Buttercup?
As the days of covering up in handy layers are behind us, we need to keep our skin soft and hydrated. The Bellamianta Butter Me Up Body Butter (€20.99, boots.ie) is an oil-free product that provides intense hydration and also gives great results with your skin's tone, texture and even the appearance of cellulite. It contains shea and cocoa butter as well as hyaluronic acid, and is perfect for prepping your skin before you apply tan.
All a Blur
My new summer foundation is Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Blurred Matte SPF 30 (€50, spacenk.com). Inspired by her iconic original formula, this upgrade from Mercier has a skincare-infused formula and buildable sheer-to-light coverage. It also gives a natural blurred matte finish to make it look even and shine-free. A true gem, it improves the appearance of your pores and gives 16 hours of hydration to help balance skin.
Heart of Glass
We're always hearing about glass skin these days, but if you like the idea of adding glass-like shine to your hair, try Oribe Supershine Mirror Rinse Glass Treatment (€71, brownthomas.com). It's a conditioner you use weekly that smoothes the cuticle to give a vibrant glossy shine and a mirror-like finish. It works for all hair types and is perfect for the summer, where we put our hair through hell thanks to the sun, the sea and chlorine from the pool.
Voya Voyage
Created by Kira and Mark Walton from the fab Voya company, the new Voya Cryo-Cooling Gel (€37, voya.ie) is a great product for soothing and hydrating tired limbs and muscles. It contains organic seaweed, aloe vera and menthol, and as well as working to soothe tired, achy feet at the end of the day, it also helps to ease hot flushes and perimenopausal overheating. If you're a gym bunny, it's great for aiding the post-workout recovery.
Treat
Mask magic I feel like a superhero every time I wear this brilliant Brow Aid IllumiLift Eye and Brow Hydrogel Mask (€32 for five, brownthomas.com), as it supercharges my skin due to actives like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, caffeine and vitamin C. It boosts brow density, brightens dark circles and evens skin tone.
Treatment
Festival hydration This is the facial that every festival-goer needs to book this summer! The HydraFacial (€150, thewicklowstreetclinic.ie) is the ultimate pre-festival skin treatment that guarantees a gorgeous glow to go with your glow stick! From lymphatic drainage to boost circulation and eliminate toxins to unique Vortex-Fusion exfoliation and hydration along with LED light therapy to reduce redness, you will be ready to rock for those selfie pics.
Trick
Break on through While we're on the subject of confidence boosters, I was talking to Mini my ten-year-old about how to deal with having less-than-perfect skin, which will happen when hormones start hitting! I told her that you can't camouflage an insecurity, but you can emphasise something else to draw attention away from it. So those Starface Hydro-Star stickers are super for teen breakouts or winged eyeliner and bright lip gloss when she's older.

Lidl Ireland unveils Oasis-inspired jacket ahead of band's Croke Park reunion shows
RETAILER Lidl Ireland has unveiled a jacket inspired by Oasis ahead of the band's forthcoming reunion shows at Croke Park next month. The 'Lidl by Lidl' jacket — a play on the band's 2002 hit Little By Little — goes on sale at 10am on Wednesday, with all proceeds going to charity. The garment was inspired by singer Liam Gallagher's collaboration with fashion brand Berghaus last year, which saw him sporting a £400 jacket in the same colours as the Lidl logo. The discount retailer says its own €35 (£30) jacket is ideal for gigs as it features two built-in drink cooling pockets and a zipper that doubles as a bottle opener. "This isn't just a jacket… it's a backstage pass to the ultimate party," quipped the retailer. 'Ultimate throwback jacket' Oasis — featuring second-generation Irish brothers Noel and Liam — got their reunion tour underway this weekend with shows in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday. Next Friday sees them begin a run of five shows in their home city of Manchester, followed by five shows at Wembley and three in Edinburgh. They then head to Dublin for two shows at Croke Park on August 16 and 17. Eimear O'Sullivan, Corporate Affairs Director at Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland, hailed the jacket as another of Lidl's 'middle aisle gems'. "The Croke Park gigs are the most hotly-anticipated gigs of the summer and now Oasis fans can relive '90s nostalgia and commemorate a piece of Irish rock and roll history with the limited-edition Lidl by Lidl jacket," she said. "Since the announcement of the Irish gigs, we've been overwhelmed by the response from the Irish public to see a 'Lidl by Lidl' product and, as Ireland's leading discount retailer, we're renowned for our middle aisle gems and quirky merch which has become synonymous with summer festival season. "We're thrilled to launch the ultimate throwback jacket that's sure to be a hit with both Oasis and Lidl fans. "We can't wait to see fans fill Croke Park kitted out in this summer's must-have merch." Tambourine Lidl says that the jacket — which sports a Lidl by Lidl badge on the sleeve — also comes with a tambourine 'for spontaneous jam sessions'. Meanwhile, Lidl GB is offering fans who miss out on the limited edition garment a branded bucket hat and pair of Lidl aviators, which will be available on the website for free. The jackets go on sale this Wednesday, with Lidl Ireland donating 100 per cent of sales to its charity partner, Family Carers Ireland, while Lidl GB will donate all proceeds to the NSPCC. Fans in Ireland can get their hands on the jacket at while those in Britain can buy it at See More: Croke Park, Dublin, Lidl, Oasis

RTE 2FM star ties the knot in stunning sustainable Wicklow ceremony
2FM star Fionnuala Moran has paid a touching tribute to her late grandmother on her wedding day. The sustainability influencer tied the knot to her long-term love and rap artist, Aaron Hartigan, whose stage name is Rebel Phoenix, at a stunning ceremony in Rathsallagh Country House, Co Wicklow. The radio host stunned in a tulle and deep v neckline with a stunning corseted bodice gown by Aleena Leena's 'Clivia', which she bought at sustainable bridal boutique Cirq in Naas, Co Kildare. The bride wore her late Granny Angela's ring as her something old, borrowed and blue, along with her now-vintage Panache By Lentheric perfume, which Fionnuala had kept since the beloved Macroom-native passed away in 1997. The bride is the first in the world to wear the Grá veil down the aisle. It's part of Mizz Rio's new Daughters of Ireland Collection, inspired by Maud Gonne's Inghinidhe na hÉireann movement, founded in 1900 to promote Irish culture and strive for our independence. During the ceremony, the couple embody positive patriotism, and their love of Éire was woven through their ceremony from hand fastening as Gaeilge to ancient bog oak, water and swan feather Celtic blessings by Trish Cameron of Temple of Eriú, who uphold Ireland's ancient spiritual traditions. The bride's veil had pink beading displaying Grá in Ogham, Ireland's oldest language. This was also a nod to the groom Rebel Phoenix's musical community 'Rebel Mafia', for which he uses an ogham logo. Fionnuala completed her look with shoes by Irish designer Nicky Hoyne. For her second look of the evening, Fionnuala slipped into a gorgeous Clio Peppiatt number, the Lucina embellished stretch-mesh mini, to be exact. For her engagement ring, wedding ring and bracelet, the couple chose from Dublin family-run business Gray's Jewellers, based just off Grafton Street in the Westbury Mall. The walled garden ceremony in her home county saw the bride wear hand-crafted white and gold flower earrings created by Georgia Charal and purchased in The Design Collective of Dublin's Drury Street. Across the two day celebration, Fionnuala wore pieces a De Vali dress Irish bridal resale website Rebride, a Needle & Thread dress from secondhand site Reliked, Dublin consignment store Siopaella, vintage jewellery from Kearns, Clio Peppiatt, vintage Oscar de la Renta earrings from Wendy's Way of Life in The 59 Collective in The Powerscourt Townhouse Centre and a second shorter veil for dancing the night away that she nabbed for her hen for just €15 in the since-closed bridal room of SVP's charity shop on George's Street. Fionnuala and Aaron's beloved pooches, Farrah and Alfie, were in attendance on their big day, and the 2FM star previously teased that one of them had a special outfit for the day that was in it. In January, Fionnuala told her followers: 'This diva is getting her own wedding dress made out of the excess from mine when I get it altered. 'Ridiculous, I know, but she's my bébé. They'll be involved in the ceremony and then whisked away with a fun minder.' Guests, which included 98FM star Paul Ryder and FM104 host and actor David O'Reilly, enjoyed a champagne reception, followed by music from Eurosong's NIYL and Twink's daughter Chloe Agnew, who made up The X Collective.

Viral crowd video from Oasis gig sparks fan fury
Irish fans are counting down the days to Oasis' two sold-out shows at Croke Park on August 16th and 17th, 2025 – part of the band's long-awaited reunion tour and their first time on stage together in 16 years. But while the shows are already being hailed as legendary, not every moment has struck the right chord with fans. A now-viral clip from night two in Cardiff has ignited a fierce debate online after a concertgoer shared footage of dozens of fans sitting down during Cast No Shadow. Scanning the seated crowd, she captioned her video: 'Why is everyone sat down – this is who you lost tickets to btw'. @laurabradshxw Oasis Cardiff N2 you were CLASS #oasis #cardiff #principalitystadium #liamgallagher #noelgallagher #oasisreunion #oasisliveforever #castnoshadow #concert #livemusic #fyp ♬ original sound – laurabradshxw The backlash was instant, and divided. Some were quick to express frustration: 'Why is no one singing!' one person said while another fan commented: 'I wasn't sat down. Stood up singing loud and proud as everyone should have been for the struggle it was to get tickets.' Another fumed: 'Real fans of Oasis missed out so people can come and sit down at a concert.' Pic: AFP STRINGER/AFP via Getty Images However, plenty of others jumped to the crowd's defence: One argued: 'Because they're original fans and our backs are shot to pieces.' Another said: 'I would be seating too – appreciating and taking it all in. Standing and jumping about isn't the only way to enjoy it.' And that wasn't the only crowd controversy in Cardiff. Another fan moment went viral from the opening night, this time involving the use of Shazam. As Richard Ashcroft took to the stage and began Bitter Sweet Symphony, one woman in the crowd was caught using her phone to identify the 1997 Britpop anthem – a song widely considered one of the most iconic of the era. Pic: AFP STRINGER/AFP via Getty Images Online, fans were stunned, one said: 'Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time,' while another fumed: 'Seriously! I couldn't get a ticket because of these people.' Despite the viral moments and online spats, one thing isn't up for debate amongst fans, the band certainly delivered. Oasis will take to Dublin on August 16 and 17 for two sold-out nights in Croke Park, before heading to North America, South America, and back to Wembley before performing in South Korea and Japan. They'll then head to Australia, before wrapping up the tour in São Paolo, Brazil, in November.
