Fire Breaks Out At Disney World Forcing Evacuation
The fire broke out at Walt Disney World's EPCOT theme park on Saturday evening near the France Pavilion, part of the "World Showcase" at EPCOT.
Fox 35 in Orland confirmed that the fire forced some park guests to be evacuated from "Remy's Ratatouille Adventure" to the backstage area of the park.
The flames from the fire could be seen by guests throughout the park and videos of the fire quickly spread across social media.
The fire occurred during a busy time for Disney as it is spring break for many schools across the country, including in Florida, and it also occurred during EPCOT's International Flower and Garden Festival, which runs through June 2.
Disney World officials told Fox 35 Orlando that the fire happened when a walk-in cooler caught fire backstage. Officials also said that the evacuations occurred before the fire was even visible or had grown, meaning guests were not put in danger.
Though the fire sent a large and dark plume of smoke into the sky and forced an evacuation, Disney officials confirmed that nobody was hurt as a result of the fire.
While Disney officials were able to confirm that the fire originated in a walk-in cooler, it's not clear exactly what caused the fire – whether it was a mechanical issue, an accident, or something else entirely.
It is also not immediately known whether or not there was any other damage caused as a result of the fires.

Do We Have to Bring Johnny Depp Back to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean', Actually?
Back in 2003, when Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl first hit theaters, it was a pleasant surprise. A movie based on a Disney ride—in a time when pirate movies weren't exactly riding high—it was highly entertaining, made a zillion dollars, and earned Johnny Depp his first Oscar nomination. Four sequels of varying quality followed, but despite many rumblings since Dead Men Tell No Tales in 2017, Pirates has yet to relaunch. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is now saying there might be life left in the franchise with the now-controversial Depp back aboard—but is that something we should really be encouraging? Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Bruckheimer said Depp is open to a Captain Jack Sparrow return. That's significant since Disney jettisoned the star in 2018 amid his legal drama with former wife Amber Heard; as EW notes, Depp said in court in 2022 that he would not be reprising the role because 'there was a deep and distinct sense of feeling betrayed by the people that I've worked hard for.' However, now there's seemingly been a shift. 'If he likes the way the part's written, I think he would do it,' Bruckheimer told EW. 'It's all about what's on the page, as we all know.' Bruckheimer has previously described a potential sixth Pirates movie as a reboot. In 2022, amid discussions of Margot Robbie's on-again, off-again take on the franchise—which he still had hopes for at that time—he sounded less optimistic about Depp making any sort of Pirates return someday. However, he did say, 'The future has yet to be decided.' That future is apparently here now, and Bruckheimer, who is clearly aware that any time he talks about Pirates he makes headlines, is floating that possibility anew. But even if someone writes the best Pirates reboot script ever, topping even the seaworthy hijinks of The Curse of the Black Pearl, do we really need Depp and his character to be shoehorned into it? Captain Jack Sparrow had already overstayed his welcome even before Depp's personal troubles became headline fodder. Netflix is taking its fight with Disney to hallowed ground: family-friendly sing-alongs. Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters" is briefly coming to select movie theaters as a sing-along event, in a new challenge to the Mouse House. Fans of "Kpop Demon Hunters" and its popular soundtrack can see the fictional K-pop girl group HUNTR/X on the big screen when the smash-hit film hits theaters in the US and Canada on August 23 and 24, Netflix said on Tuesday. The animated flick has become Netflix's fourth-most-watched movie ever since its mid-June debut. It set records by hitting a new viewership peak six weeks after its debut and narrowly missed achieving that feat again in its seventh week. "KPop Demon Hunters" owes some of its success to its chart-topping soundtrack. One of the movie's original songs, "Golden," is the No. 1 track on Billboard's Hot 100 rankings this week, and the full setlist is currently the second most popular album in the world. A Netflix spokesperson didn't provide a comment beyond the press release. Netflix can take on Disney without changing its tune on theaters Putting "KPop Demon Hunters" on big screens is an intriguing move for Netflix, which has often given theaters the cold shoulder. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said in April that putting movies exclusively in theaters for months is "an outdated concept," Variety reported. However, Netflix has experimented with theaters, such as by giving "Knives Out 2" a limited theatrical release in 2022 and promising to give big-screen time to Greta Gerwig's forthcoming movie based on "The Chronicles of Narnia."
