2025 Gold Cup Odds: Mexico Slightly Favored Over U.S. Ahead Of Semifinals
The U.S. men's national team is fresh off a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Costa Rica in the quarterfinals. It will face Guatemala on Wednesday, July 2, at 7 p.m. ET on FS1.
In the other semifinal, Mexico, which eliminated Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals, will take on Honduras at 10 p.m. ET, also on FS1.
The U.S. has claimed seven Gold Cup titles, with its most recent championship coming in 2021.
Meanwhile, Mexico recently found its stride, having won the Nations League Finals this past spring and claiming the Gold Cup title in 2023.
The only time the tournament was won by a country other than the U.S. or Mexico was in 2000, with Canada taking home the title that year.
Mexico is slightly favored to win the title at +100, while the USMNT follows closely at +110.
Let's dive into the odds as of July 1 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
CONCACAF Gold Cup winner
Mexico: +100 (bet $10 to win $20 total)USA: +110 (bet $10 to win $21 total)Honduras: +1800 (bet $10 to win $190 total)Guatemala: +1800 (bet $10 to win $190 total)
Despite missing several stars this summer for various reasons — including Christian Pulisic, Jedi Robinson, Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie, Tim Weah and Sergino Dest — the U.S. found its rhythm, finishing the group stage perfectly with three straight wins.
The U.S. men's national team defeated Costa Rica in a dramatic quarterfinal match that ended in a six-round penalty shootout.
Goalkeeper Matt Freese played a crucial role in the victory, making three penalty stops, while Damion Downs clinched the win for the United States with his penalty kick.
With +110 odds to win the championship, the U.S. team sits just behind Mexico, the only team to advance without heading to penalties.
Given the odds, many expect a final showdown between the favorites, Mexico and the U.S.
Honduras and Guatemala find themselves tied for third at +1800, each having pulled off upsets over Canada and Panama, respectively.
Guatemala secured a remarkable victory against Canada after a seven-round penalty shootout in the quarterfinals.

Christian Pulisic blasts ‘cop-out' criticisms from Landon Donovan, ex-USMNT players
Two U.S. Men's National Team stars hit out at their critics who questioned them for not participating in the Gold Cup earlier this summer. Christian Pulisic and Timothy Weah fired back at the players-turned-media pundits during a newly released episode of the Paramount+ documentary, 'Pulisic.' The American soccer star faced criticism from the likes of Landon Donovan and other USMNT alumni for doing 'the best thing for myself' and not participating in the summer Gold Cup tournament. Christian Pulisic clapped back at USMNT stars. REUTERS In the eighth episode, which focuses on the national team's struggles, Pulisic defended his decision with some pointed language. 'I'd say the most annoying thing, and for me, the biggest cop-out of all time, is when, especially, you know, all pundits want to say: 'They didn't want it. They didn't have the heart, you know, back in our day, we would fight and we would die on that field,'' Pulisic said. Weah had a similar feeling when he discussed the criticism, taking it a step further. 'Those guys are chasing checks, and for me, I just feel like they're really evil, honestly, because they've been players, and they know what it's like when you're getting bashed,' he said. 'Those are the same guys that will turn around and shake your hand and try to be friendly with you.' 'Don't get me wrong, I respect all of them, I mean, they were the players I looked up to,' Weah added. 'But quite frankly, the guys before us didn't win anything either.' Christian Pulisic REUTERS The spat between some of the current players and the former ones took a very public turn earlier this year when Donovan said on air, 'I can't help but think about some of our guys on vacation, not wanting to play in the Gold Cup. It's pissing me off.' Donovan did not name any players specifically, but Pulisic's father, Mark, fired back with a post on social media. The United States went on to lose to Mexico, 2-1, in the Gold Cup final.

Christian Pulisic sounded off on ex-USMNT stars who bashed the team
When it comes to the U.S. men's national team, there is never a normal day. It's a group that almost feeds off dysfunction, and there's been plenty of that this summer. That doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon. USMNT star Christian Pulisic faced enormous criticism when he opted against playing for the national team in the Gold Cup, choosing instead to take the summer off for recovery. Now, under normal circumstances, the Gold Cup is a developmental tournament comprised of mostly B-team players. But this was the final competitive tournament for the USMNT before the 2026 World Cup. It made sense for the team's best player to be there with a new coach. And the most vocal criticism seemingly came from former players like Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey. You best believe that Pulisic heard it all. In a new clip from Paramount Plus' Pulisic docuseries, the USMNT captain — along with Tim Weah and Pulisic's father, Mark — ripped into the comments from ex-USMNT stars. Weah went as far as to call the players "evil" for their remarks. Pulisic said: 'I'd say the most annoying thing, and for me, the biggest cop out of all-time is when all pundits want to say, 'They didn't want it. They didn't have the heart. Back in our day, we would fight and we would die on that field.'' Mark believed that those players were chasing "clicks" and podcast views. Drama is more compelling, and it suits those players to knock the USMNT in their post-playing careers. At the very least, it doesn't seem like the infighting between the current team and old guard will stop in the near future. If anything, this episode could be another escalation.
