Geely Auto to enter Polish market with two new energy vehicles

Yahoo12-05-2025

Geely Auto has partnered with Jameel Motors to distribute its new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Poland.
This collaboration marks the first time Polish customers will have access to Geely Auto's advanced NEV line-up, capitalising on Poland's growing electric vehicle market.
The market saw a 41% year-over-year increase in battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in February 2025.
Jameel Motors will initially distribute two models: the Geely EX5, a next-generation electric SUV, and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) from the C-SUV segment.
These new energy passenger vehicles are built on the GEA (Global Intelligent Electric Architecture) platform, renowned for innovative design and safety features. The first model is set for sale in the third quarter of 2025.
Jameel Motors CEO Jasmmine Wong stated: 'By expanding our new energy vehicle portfolio, we're giving Polish drivers even more freedom and flexibility in personal mobility – while actively supporting the country's transition to greener mobility. We're proud to collaborate with a company as innovative as Geely Auto, which continues to set new benchmarks in automotive technology and sustainability.'
Geely Auto operates in over 80 countries with sales exceeding 2.17 million vehicles in 2024.
The company prioritises innovation, with more than 30,000 engineers across R&D centres in China, Sweden, and the UK. Recently, it launched the first 'Intelligent Vehicle AI' technology system.
Geely Auto International vice president Moe Wong said: 'We firmly believe that this partnership is not only a win-win business initiative that creates value for our customers, teams, and shareholders, but also a meaningful step in elevating Poland's automotive industry – by introducing high-quality, intelligent, and sustainable vehicles to the market.'
Also, in March, Geely Auto expanded into the Vietnamese market with the Coolray SUV, part of its broader Southeast Asia expansion strategy.

AeroFlexx secures patents for recyclable flexible packaging solution

Sustainable packaging provider AeroFlexx has been granted US Patents 11,548,709 and 12,071,292 for its flexible plastic packaging solution, the AeroFlexx Pak. The AeroFlexx Pak is a recyclable monomaterial package suitable for kerbside recycling. It meets industry standards for polyethylene-based films and flexible packaging, offering an advancement in sustainable packaging options. The solution merges the benefits of both rigid and flexible packaging into a single, improved design. It is capable of incorporating up to 50% recycled content while maintaining performance, addressing current market package shortcomings. This flexible packaging solution is designed to act like a rigid bottle, providing the best qualities of both packaging types. AeroFlexx chief technology officer Cedric D'Souza said: "This recognition is a significant achievement for AeroFlexx and provides the company with additional value creation by broadening our intellectual property portfolio. "We will continue to drive innovation in the plastic packaging industry to address both the consumer and brand's needs." The design of the AeroFlexx Pak is capable of decreasing the use of virgin plastic by up to 85% compared to traditional rigid bottles. This reduction is achieved by using up to 70% less plastic at the source. The AeroFlexx Pak's lightweight, flexible, and durable nature offers a preferred consumer experience and can significantly enhance brand value through its sustainability benefits, claims the company. AeroFlexx CEO Andrew Meyer said: "We are honoured to be awarded these patents. It demonstrates our unwavering commitment to providing a sustainable and differentiated liquid packaging solution to the marketplace. "By adopting the AeroFlexx Pak, companies can accelerate progress toward their ESG [environmental, social, and governance] goals and sustainability commitments." In January this year, AeroFlexx partnered with Chemipack, a Polish blending and filling company, to drive innovation in sustainable liquid packaging across Europe. 4 penny stocks to consider buying while their prices are this cheap

Many speculate on which penny stocks might rapidly soar in price. But here at The Motley Fool, it's worth reiterating that we follow Buffett's famous investing maxim: 'Our favourite holding period is forever.' In other words, we're not simply looking to cash out when a former penny stock hits the big time. Instead, as Fools, we're looking for long-term investments in quality — but perhaps underappreciated — companies. Here are four of our contributors' favourites for investors to consider buying right now! What it does: This investment company focuses on cellular agriculture, precision fermentation, and biomanufacturing. By Charlie Carman. From deforestation to greenhouse gas emissions to antibiotic use on livestock, there are many problems with conventional farming methods. Agronomics (LSE:ANIC) invests in companies offering innovative solutions to these issues. The UN predicts that global food output needs to rise 60% by 2050. Novel agricultural developments will be required to meet exploding demand, and Agronomics is well-placed to benefit. The group has exposure to over 20 companies that produce animal products from cell cultures, such as meat, leather, and dairy. This process removes the need for animal slaughter. Granted, these nascent biotechnologies carry significant risks. Encouraging mainstream consumer adoption is a major challenge, since many people are reluctant to consume lab-grown meat. There are also regulatory hurdles and trade barriers to contend with. Despite the risks, trading at 7p today, this penny stock offers a promising long-term investment opportunity to consider in an industry with massive growth potential. Charlie Carman does not own shares in Agronomics. What it does: DP Poland operates the Domino's Pizza franchise in Poland and Croatia. By Ben McPoland. I reckon DP Poland (LSE: DPP) has a lot of promise. As I write, it's priced at 9p, giving the small enterprise a market cap of £89m. Admittedly, this penny stock has been drifting in recent years. This is partly because small-cap stocks are out of favour with higher interest rates, but also because the firm is still loss-making. This lack of profitability is a key risk here. Having said that, losses are narrowing and the market anticipates a first profit next year. The move towards a capital-light, franchise-led model should help things advance from there. Meanwhile, growth remains decent, with like-for-like sales rising 2.9% and system sales up 6.5% in the first quarter. Revenue is expected to reach nearly £66m this year, which would be 47% higher than 2023. The company recently acquired rival Pizzeria 105, expanding its footprint into 31 new Polish cities while bringing in 76 experienced franchisees. By 2027, the firm is aiming to operate 200 Domino's stores across Poland, up from 113 last year, then eventually 500+. Ben McPoland owns shares of DP Poland. What it does: Premier Miton is a UK-based investment firm offering a range of funds and trusts, as well as a portfolio management service. By Paul Summers. The last few years have been tough for holders of shares in Premier Miton (LSE: PMI). Revenue and profit have tumbled due to volatile markets and low investor confidence, with more people throwing their money into cash accounts as interest rates have climbed. The threat of US tariffs impacting the global economy has only made things worse. Still, there's an argument that investors may now look to active managers for ways to outperform the market. Should this be the case, the current valuation of less than 11 times forecast earnings may already offer a good margin of safety. For those seeking income, there's also a monster dividend yield of 10%. To be clear, this is at risk of being cut if trading doesn't improve. So, half-year numbers, due in late May, will be worth checking out. But risk-tolerant contrarian investors may find a lot to like here. Paul Summers has no position in Premier Miton. What it does: Ultimate Products owns a number of brands it uses to sell household goods primarily in its home UK market. By Christopher Ruane. Ultimate Products (LSE: ULTP) does not strike me as a share for widows or orphans given its risk profile. This year's interim results showed a year-on-year revenue decline, sharply higher net debt and a reduced interim dividend. A business model based on manufacturing in the Far East and shipping to Europe has taken hits from higher shipping rates and longer journey times. That means more money needs to be tied up in inventory. But as the owner of brands such as Salter, the company has a strong offering for retailers and their customers. Demand in such product areas is likely to be resilient over the long term. The British love of a cuppa means that, when most consumers' kettle breaks, they immediately replace it. Despite challenges, the company was free cash flow positive in its first half and trades on a price-to-earnings ratio of just 9. Christopher Ruane does not own shares in Ultimate Products . Jazz 'Dream Trade Target' Lays Blueprint for Deal with Spurs

Jazz 'Dream Trade Target' Lays Blueprint for Deal with Spurs originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The San Antonio Spurs are expected to make a massive move this NBA offseason, although the "shock factor" remains to be seen. Drafting Dylan Harper second overall would certainly be a big move, although, at this point, it is to be expected. Advertisement Still, the Spurs could make a blockbuster trade, either for Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo, to bolster their title hopes around Victor Wembanyama. The Spurs could pivot, and both Cam Johnson and Lauri Markkanen seem like viable targets. While the Utah Jazz would love to get their hands on the second overall pick, the Spurs might have a player they would covet just as much. "Sochan lost his starting job in San Antonio this past season," pointed out Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz. "Both could use a fresh start on a team in need of their scoring, defense, and passing." Jeremy Sochan was listed third on the Jazz's dream trade targets, and the Spurs could flip him in a deal for Markkanen, although it would cost a lot more than just the Polish forward. Advertisement The Spurs could, in theory, trade Sochan, Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson, and the 14th overall pick to the Jazz for Markkanen, giving them a lineup of Wembanyama, Markkanen, De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Devin Vassell, with Harper and Julian Champagnie coming off the bench. The Spurs would have enough money left over to pursue free agent center Brook Lopez, Clint Capela, or even Naz Reid. While the Silver and Black are most likely going to hold pat and build organically this offseason, the team has no shortage of options.
