Manchester United legend Paul Scholes did not take kindly to his daughter's interruption when viewing the Red Devils' season opener against Arsenal.
The heavyweight clash and pick of the opening weekend's fixtures, was the first chance for United fans to see their revamped squad after a summer of big spending.
Scholes was among the legion of supporters who tuned into the action from Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. But at least some of the 50-year-old's joy was stolen by the sight of his daughter wearing an Arsenal jersey.
Alicia, 24, filmed her father's reaction as she wandered into the lounge in the opening minutes of the game. The hilarious social media clip shows the former midfielder bluntly telling his daughter to 'take it off'.
She in turn replied with a swift: 'No'.
Alicia is one of three children the United legend shares with his wife Claire Froggatt. They also share sons Arron, 25, and Aiden, 20.

Alicia, who plays for London Pulse in the Netball Super League and represents England at international level, is in a relationship with Love Island star Ayo Odukoya.
The reality personality, 26, confirmed his relationship with Scholes' only daughter in July. The two have since shared several glimpses of each other on social media.
Ayo was rumoured to be appearing on the next series of Love Island: All Stars, but it seems his plans have now changed as he is settled with Alicia.
Ayo split from his show girlfriend Jess Spencer shortly after series 11 ended in 2024.
He was rumoured to have moved on with Alicia after eagled-eyes fans noticed her soft launching him on Instagram.
Alicia shared a series of snaps, including one showing the back of a man's head, and another of her holding hands with someone wearing a black hoodie.
Fans were quick to point out that Ayo owns an identical hoodie, seen on his social media account, and that the man's distinct goatee resembles Ayo's.
Alicia, who boasts 100k followers on Instagram, also works as an influencer.

The video showed her dad, Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, nibbling on her toenails. It is unknown whether he is just tickling her toes with his tongue or trying to trim the nails
It's not the first time her interactions with her father have gathered attention online. Dad Paul was mocked on social media when she filmed him chewing her toenails in 2021.
Alicia, 20, posted the video to her 65,600 followers on Instagram on Saturday.
She commented that the video showed 'true love', although social media users quickly labelled it 'gross'.
The clip only lasted a few seconds but showed football star Scholes, 46, giving his daughter a foot massage as he bit her toenails.

Doak, 19, signed from Celtic in 2022 for just £600,000 and spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough. He's made just 10 first-team appearances for the Reds. ‌ Liverpool have already sold Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah this summer. ‌ That will get even higher before the window closes with Marc Guehi wanted from Crystal Palace and the club still trying to sign Newcastle striker Alexander Isak. Semenyo reported the incident in the first-half of Liverpool's 4-2 win over the Cherries but then starred in the game with a brilliant brace. The following day, the 25-year-old Ghanaian international said on social media: 'Last night at Anfield will stay with me forever – not because of one person's words, but because of how the entire football family stood together.' He thanked his teammates, Liverpool players and fans 'who showed their true character', and the Premier League officials 'who handled it professionally'.

This Morning viewers jeer 'this is car crash TV!' as Real Housewives Of London intros go seriously wrong in 'embarrassing and cringe' live interview

This Morning viewers called the Real Housewives Of London intros on Monday's show 'car crash TV' as they went seriously wrong live on air. Juliet Angus, Amanda Caroline Cronin, Karen Loderick-Peace, Juliet Mayhew, Panthea Parker and Nessie Welschinger appeared on the most recent episode of the ITV programme to chat to hosts Craig Doyle, 54, and Sian Welby, 38, about the brand new Hayu series. Real Housewives of London premiered on the popular streaming service on Monday (18 August 2025) - and viewers will be treated to an episode weekly. The presenters gave the six stars a chance to introduce themselves to those watching at home, but it didn't go to plan. Karen was first up and she didn't look down the correct camera, leading her to repeat her introduction from scratch. 'Oh! Good morning!' Karen said. 'My name is Karen Loderick-Peace and I am a fashion designer, mother of three and I'm originally from Jamaica.' Craig said: 'There you go! One for TV, one for the gram.' Panthea was up next, followed by Amanda, who also messed up her lines after realising that she was also looking at the wrong camera. She restarted her intro and she was heard to hear because the rest of her co-stars were laughing over her. The reality star restarted hers three times before saying: 'Good morning, I am Amanda Caroline. I am a mother of one. I live in Belgravia and I am CEO and founder of Amanda Caroline's skincare.' Many rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share how much they were cringing over the segment. 'Car crash tv!! #ThisMorning.' 'Good to see this has all been rehearsed in advance.' 'This intro of the Real Housewives of London women is cringe!' '#thismorning give me strength.' 'This is embarrassing #thismorning.' 'Oh Christ.' 'What is this. A hot mess #ThisMorning.' '#ThisMorning good Lord this is cringe.' Last week the cast teased 'volcanic' levels of drama and admitted 'this city is a cruel mistress' in a series of glamorous intro videos. A set of clips, which invited viewers to 'meet the wives' offered an insight into the larger-than-life characters at the heart of London's social scene. The series promises champagne-fuelled catfights and caviar aplenty in the city's wealthiest neighbourhoods. 'I think the Housewives breed takes a special kind of person,' upcoming London housewife Juliet Angus told RadioTimes. 'Every one of these girls has that quality - no-holds-barred, very honest and straightforward and fun and wild, and you don't know what you're going to get.' The ladies told the outlet that viewers should expect the 'unexpected,' likening the dramatic scenes to a 'volcano'. The Real Housewives franchise, which started in 2006, includes stars from Beverly Hills, Atlanta, New York and Cheshire.

Lassana Diarra seeking £56m from Fifa in compensation for past transfer rules

Lassana Diarra is to directly pursue Fifa for €65m (£56m) in compensation after the European Court's verdict on its transfer rules, with the former France midfielder describing a failure by the governing body to reach a settlement as indicative of a 'culture of contempt'. Diarra provoked significant change in the game last year when he won a case at the European Court (CJEU) claiming his freedom of movement had been restricted by Fifa rules. The organisation subsequently amended its rulebook but the one-time Chelsea player says they have failed to make personal amends and, as a result, he is starting legal proceedings against them, as well as the Belgian Football Association. 'I have been forced to fight this legal battle since August 2014. That's more than 11 years!' Diarra said in a statement released through his lawyers. 'I waited a few months before restarting the national proceedings in Belgium, thinking that Fifa and the Belgian Federation would at least have the decency to approach me to propose an amicable settlement of the dispute. This was not the case. That is their right, but it reflects a continuing culture of contempt for the rule of law and for players, despite the crystal-clear message sent by the CJEU.' Diarra is seeking the compensation for what he argues is the damage inflicted by the collapse of his proposed transfer from Lokomotiv Moscow to the Belgian side Charleroi in 2014. With his contract terminated by the Russian side, Diarra was denied a permit to transfer to Charleroi as the rules decreed that he must first pay a fine levied by Lokomotiv, as well as compensation determined by a separate legal action. In hearing the case last year, the CJEU found that Fifa's rules in the event of a contract being terminated were 'contrary to EU law' and that they imposed 'considerable legal risks, unforeseeable and potentially very high financial risks as well as major sporting risks on those players and clubs wishing to employ them which, taken together, are such as to impede international transfers of those players.' Fifa amended its rules in December in a move declared insufficient by the global players' union, Fifpro, which is backing Diarra's latest lawsuit. 'The decision to pursue litigation followed unsuccessful attempts at amicable settlement, with Fifa declining to engage constructively to resolve the rightful demand by the player to be compensated for his career losses,' the union said. The news also follows an announcement two weeks ago of a class action lawsuit being brought against Fifa over the rules, with lawyers estimating that all players during the period the rules were in force could have had their lifetime earnings reduced by as much as 8%. Diarra's lawyers, the Belgian firm Dupont-Hissel, who are also behind the Justice for Players class action, said they expect a verdict in the case within '12-15 months'. Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion 'I am doing this for myself and if I have been able to hold out against the Fifa steamroller, it is because I had a good career,' Diarra said. 'But I have also done it for all the up and coming, lesser known players who do not have the financial and psychological means to challenge Fifa before real judges.' Fifa has been approached for comment.
