Michigan State high priority offensive lineman nearing decision, down to three schools
Michigan State has had a red hot month of June in the recruiting department, gaining 17 commitments and getting the total number in the class up to 21. There is still another prospect from the month the Spartans are close to landing.
While the Spartans have pieced together an outstanding recruiting class in the offensive line, there is still one more piece left in the puzzle.
Adrian 'Ace' Hamilton is gearing up to make his college decision on July 5, where he will announce his commitment. The Spartans are in that race alongside Virginia and Virginia Tech.
A 6-foot-2, 290 pound offensive lineman, the Spartans see him as the center of the future. A Washington, D.C. native, attending St. John's College, he is a high 3-star target that Michigan State has had held in high regard. He took a visit to East Lansing on June 2.

University of Michigan's Danny Wolf and Michigan State University's Jase Richardson were selected on Wednesday in the first round of the 2025 NBA draft. Wolf, selected No. 27 overall, was picked by the Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Richardson is heading to the Orlando Magic as the 25th overall pick. Wolf played two seasons at Yale before joining Michigan in the 2024-2025 season. He earned All-Big Ten first and second teams and the All-Big Ten Tournament Team. He was also a finalist for the Karl Malone Award for Power Forward of the Year in 2025. Richardson, who was a freshman at MSU, played one season with the Spartans. During his high school career, he was listed among the top 40 players in the country and the top 10 combo guards in the country. Both Michigan and Michigan State advanced in the 2025 NCAA Championship. The Wolverines fell short in the Sweet 16, while the Spartans lost in the Elite Eight. Round 2 of the NBA draft is set for 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 26.

Magic draft Jase Richardson with No. 25 pick in first round
With the No. 25 pick in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic drafted Michigan State guard Jase Richardson. In his lone season with the Spartans, Richardson shot 41% from three and averaged over twelve points per game. He was also a member of the Big Ten's All Freshman Team. UNC freshman drafted in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets
Drake Powell, UNC basketball freshman, was taken No. 22 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets. Originally projected to be a late first-round pick even falling to the second round in some final mock drafts like ESPN, Drake Powell was selected as the No. 22 overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. The Hawks then sent Powell to the Brooklyn Nets. The deal that landed Brooklyn the No. 22 overall pick involved the Boston Celtics as well, moving Kristaps Porzingis. Powell will head north in the Eastern Conference, where he will team up with star guard Cam Thomas and fellow Tar Heel Cameron Johnson. The team also boasts De'Angelo Russell, Drew Timme, and Keon Johnson. Last year, the Hawks drafted Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft before going 40-42 this season. They ended last season in the No. 12 spot in the Eastern Conference with a 26-56 record. They have already drafted BYU guard Egor Demin with the No. 8 pick. Powell will add much-needed two-way play for the Jordi Fernández-coached team that lacked much resemblance of defense last season. The 6-foot-5 forward averaged 7.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game last season while shooting 48.3% from the field and 37.9% from behind the arc. Still very much raw talent, the right organization could take Powell and mold him into the potential of a star two-way player like Mikal Bridges or Norman Powell. Time will tell how Powell will fit into the rotation and what kind of player the Nets can groom him to become, but they obviously saw something great in him.
