Ace Bailey meets NBA icon Allen Iverson during Summer League games in Las Vegas
Utah Jazz's overall fifth pick, Ace Bailey made headlines way before he was drafted by the NBA team. During a recent game against the Dallas Mavericks, Bailey clearly proved that he was meant to stay and create his reputation in the widely watched game.
He has been on rest for the rest of the roster due to hip soreness and could not play against Cooper Flagg led-Mavericks. Reportedly, he appeared for only two games for Utah Jazz during the ongoing Summer League games.
Bailey hasn't had his breakout moment in Las Vegas just yet like the others, but he's already turned heads with the limited time he's had on the court. In his most recent outing for the Jazz—Utah's second Summer League game against the Memphis Grizzlies—Bailey delivered a solid showing, finishing with 18 points, tied for second-most on the team, along with seven rebounds and three assists.

Sidney Crosby likely to leave Penguins if Evgeni Malkin isn't re-signed
Crosby's next move hinges on Malkin's final season decision (Image via: Getty Images) The Pittsburgh Penguins have hit a rough patch, missing the NHL playoffs for three straight seasons—a slump that mirrors their four-year drought from 2002 to 2006. That's troubling for a franchise that boasted 16 consecutive playoff appearances before 2022, and even more so for veterans like Sidney Crosby, who still have championship-caliber talent left in the tank. Sidney Crosby 's future tied to Evgeni Malkin 's contract Despite the team's decline, Sidney Crosby continues to perform at an elite level. He recently surpassed Wayne Gretzky's record by averaging at least a point per game for 20 straight seasons—something no other player in NHL history has achieved. But with his contract set to expire after the 2026–27 season, speculation is heating up around whether Crosby will finish his career in Pittsburgh or explore other opportunities. According to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, Crosby's decision is closely tied to longtime teammate Evgeni Malkin. 'He's here as long as Geno's there,' Wyshynski said on The Jeff Marek Show. 'If Geno's there for one more year, then all bets are off as far as where Sid ends up.' That means Malkin's future will likely dictate Crosby's next move, and right now, Malkin's contract is set to expire after the 2025–26 season. Re-signing Malkin is the key to keeping Crosby and preserving Penguins ' golden era The Penguins' front office hasn't made any public moves to extend Malkin's contract, which raises serious concerns. Malkin himself has stated that he wants to retire in Pittsburgh and has no interest in returning to the KHL. 'The Penguins are my team,' he told The Athletic earlier this year. But if Pittsburgh lets him walk, Crosby may walk too. Together, Crosby and Malkin have defined the modern Penguins era, delivering three Stanley Cup titles and 16 straight playoff runs. Their chemistry, both on and off the ice, is undeniable. From iconic assists to hilarious post-game banter, their bond goes beyond stats; it's the emotional heartbeat of the franchise. Reuniting Crosby and Malkin is Pittsburgh's last shot at one more Stanley Cup run If the Penguins want to keep their captain and rebuild for one final playoff push, re-signing Malkin is essential. Also Read: Ivan Demidov at the center of Canadiens' lineup debate ahead of 2025 season With Crosby still performing at MVP levels, extending Malkin could buy Pittsburgh a few more years of magic. NBA insider reveals real reason behind Victor Wembanyama's China trip for monk training
NBA insider reveals real reason behind Victor Wembanyama's China trip for monk training (Image Source: Getty Images) Victor Wembanyama made an unexpected turn this summer. The 21-year-old San Antonio Spurs star visited China rather than staying in France or working out with NBA coaches Stateside. Images came to light showing him working with Shaolin monks. Fans wondered about the reason, but the actual story behind this unexpected move is now coming to light and it speaks much about Wembanyama's mental attitude. Victor Wembanyama takes intense kung fu path in China to rebuild body and mind Victor Wembanyama did something unexpected this summer. Instead of training in the U.S. or France, he flew to China. Fans were surprised. Why was the NBA star at a Shaolin temple? What was he doing there? (Image Source: X) The 21-year-old didn't follow the usual path. Most NBA players work out in gyms. They train with coaches. But Wembanyama went somewhere different. He chose a temple known for kung fu, not basketball. He spent part of his offseason there. The place is old and full of history. It's where monks train their minds and bodies. It's not where you'd expect to find a 7-foot-4 athlete. According to Michael C. Wright of ESPN, Wembanyama stayed at the Shaolin Temple in Zhengzhou. He was there for 10 days in early July 2025. The temple is in Henan Province, China. It's world-famous for training monks in kung fu and mental discipline. Victor Wembanyama chose Shaolin monks over regular trainers Sources told Michael C. Wright of ESPN that Victor Wembanyama made the trip to challenge both his body and mind. 'He wanted something different,' Wright reported. 'It wasn't about shooting drills or weights. It was about control, focus, and learning how to move better.' Wembanyama used this time to study kung fu and body movement techniques. He worked on mental focus and learned how to position his body in new ways that may help his performance on the basketball court. According to Wright, this style of training could help him improve his flexibility and balance, skills that are beneficial for a big man in the NBA. 'He's always pushing himself,' said one team staff member who spoke anonymously. 'He doesn't think like other players.' The French star is also coming off a serious medical condition. In March 2025, he was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder. Now, he's been cleared to return to full training and plans to apply what he learned in China to his game. Wembanyama led the NBA in blocks in his second season, even though he only played 46 games. His efforts in China demonstrate his commitment to reaching his full potential. It was only after he returned that fans discovered his unusual training method. Now, it's clear that Wembanyama is chasing something much deeper than just basketball.
