Dubai, UAE: DP World has welcomed the latest addition to its Marine Services fleet, with the DP World Jebel Ali making its maiden call at its namesake, Jebel Ali Port.
DP World Jebel Ali is a Sapphire 5300 compact gearless container vessel which features cutting-edge maritime technologies designed to enhance cargo handling efficiency, reduce operational costs and contribute to a more sustainable maritime industry.
To commemorate the maiden call, DP World and Unifeeder senior management hosted a special reception at Jebel Ali Port, underscoring the port's pivotal role in global supply chains. DP World Jebel Ali will be integrated into Unifeeder's Asian Gulf ISC Service (AGI).
The vessel's compact design allows for greater manoeuvrability and access to smaller ports, including inland terminals, opening new opportunities to expand supply chain networks. The vessel is expected to save approximately 1,700 metric tonnes of bunker fuel annually, leading to 15% to 20% reduction in carbon emissions for its intended routes.
Ganesh Raj, Global Chief Operating Officer, Marine Services, said: 'The addition of the DP World Jebel Ali to our fleet strengthens our commitment to providing agile, efficient services that deliver value to our customers. This state-of-the-art vessel will help reduce our environmental impact while enhancing our network, which plays a critical role in regional and global supply chains.'

Borouge and Adnoc L&S ink $531 million partnership to boost UAE petrochemical exports
Borouge and Adnoc Logistics & Services Plc have entered a 15-year strategic partnership that will support a significant increase in the production and export of petrochemicals from the UAE. The service agreement will deliver a minimum guaranteed value of $531 million (Dh1.95 billion), supporting the next phase of Borouge's accelerated growth plans, driving operational cost savings over the full contract term, realising more than $50 million in cost savings and efficiencies in the first five years alone, and enhancing the company's supply chain network. The agreement covers port management, container handling, and feeder container ship services for the Borouge Container Terminal in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi. Adnoc L&S will manage the transportation of up to 70 per cent of Borouge's annual production, which will increase significantly following the completion of the Borouge 4 plant expansion. Adnoc L&S will deploy a minimum of two dedicated container feeder ships to transport Borouge's products from Al Ruwais to the deepwater ports of Jebel Ali in Dubai and Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi. Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, CEO of Borouge, commented: 'This agreement builds on our longstanding collaboration with Adnoc L&S, a partnership that has been instrumental in meeting the evolving needs of our customers in high-growth markets. With the rapid increase in our production capacity, we are advancing our capabilities in delivering differentiated products and solutions efficiently, while keeping pace with rising global demand.' As Borouge plans to ramp up production capacity by 1.4 million tonnes per annum by the end of 2026 through its Borouge 4 mega project, Borouge will become the world's largest single-site polyolefin complex. The partnership with Adnoc L&S will further enhance Borouge's supply chain efficiency as well as reinforcing Adnoc L&S' commitment to delivering innovative, integrated supply chain solutions that enhance trade, strengthen industrial resilience, and support the UAE's vision for economic diversification and global leadership. From containers to learning hubs: How DP World turns shipping steel into golf dreams
What do redundant shipping containers and young golfers have in common? Thanks to a bold new initiative from DP World, the answer might just be: a future full of possibilities. Known for moving thousands of containers across the globe every day, Dubai-based DP World has found a creative way to give some of those steel boxes a second life. Instead of retiring them, the company is transforming them into mobile 'Clubhouses' for aspiring young golfers. These custom-built hubs offer equipment, training tools, and safe spaces to play and grow your game. It's more than a nod to recycling. It's about opportunity. The first Clubhouse landed this week in Cape Town, South Africa, delivered in partnership with the Sally Little Golf Trust, an organisation that empowers young women through golf. The Trust teaches values like honesty, respect, perseverance, and self-motivation alongside swing mechanics. Each Clubhouse is tailored to the needs of its community. Some will house gear and training aids, and others will serve as gathering spaces or mini-learning centres. All will help bring golf to places where access to the sport is limited. "At DP World, we believe in creating opportunities to empower young people, as they are our future,' said Daniel van Otterdijk, the company's Chief Communications Officer. 'The Clubhouse initiative is a brilliant example of how we can use our resources and global sports partnerships to open doors for the next generation—bringing golf, and the life skills it teaches, to communities that might not otherwise have access. 'We're especially proud to have launched this programme in partnership with the Sally Little Golf Trust, whose incredible work empowering young women through golf aligns perfectly with our values,' he added. The Clubhouse programme builds on DP World's earlier success with the Second Life Container Initiative, which has already redistributed some 350,000 golf balls worldwide. Now, the goal is to scale even further. Future Clubhouses will roll out alongside major moments in the golf calendar, including the prestigious DP World Tour and the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York this September. It's all part of a broader effort to make golf more inclusive, accessible, and inspiring for the next generation of players.

Dubai Energy and Logistics Giants Forge Emergency Alliance
Arabian Post Staff -Dubai ENOC Group and DP World have formalised a significant Memorandum of Understanding today in Dubai to enhance emergency response capabilities across the emirate's energy and logistics infrastructure. The agreement mandates an annual coordinated drill and shared updates to crisis protocols, underlining a commitment to reducing response times and bolstering resilience. The pact was signed at ENOC's headquarters by Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, and Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC. Al Falasi commented that the MoU 'marks a significant stride forward in solidifying our commitment to the highest safety standards and emergency preparedness', while Bin Damithan emphasised that safety 'underpins everything we do at DP World'. ADVERTISEMENT Under the MoU, ENOC and DP World will conduct a yearly joint exercise involving both companies' emergency teams. This drill aims to sharpen training, preparedness and coordination. Additionally, both firms will regularly revise emergency response plans and align on external engagement protocols for rapid and unified action. The agreement builds on ENOC's ongoing investment in emergency readiness. In 2022, the company launched an Emergency Response Centre in Jebel Ali in collaboration with Dubai Civil Defence. Its personnel have also undergone advanced HAZMAT and fire-risk assessment training at the International Fire Training Centre in the UK—equipping first responders to handle complex rescue operations in high-risk settings. Industry observers note that this partnership addresses key vulnerabilities in energy and logistics sectors—areas crucial to Dubai's economic stability. By synchronising emergency plans and conducting joint drills, both entities aim to strengthen institutional preparedness and minimise disruption. From a strategic standpoint, DP World's endorsement of this MoU underscores its broader resilience agenda. The global ports and logistics firm has in the past engaged in humanitarian logistics initiatives, such as disaster-relief coordination via its Logistics Emergency Team in crises like Ukraine and Haiti. Aligning with ENOC's fire and hazmat capabilities provides the potential for a more comprehensive emergency response ecosystem. Public safety experts say coordinated exercises are vital for effective crisis management, as they test systems, highlight operational shortcomings, and reinforce communication between organisations—especially in high-stakes environments like oil terminals and container ports. Dubai continues to elevate its emergency preparedness. Government entities regularly collaborate with corporate partners to mount drills and capacity building, aiming to keep pace with the complexities of rapid urban growth and sectoral interdependence. With this MoU, ENOC and DP World are not merely aiming to improve reactive measures; they are fostering a forward-looking culture of continuous preparedness. Regular joint drills, shared emergency planning and cross-company collaboration set a benchmark for crisis readiness across the UAE's critical infrastructure sectors.
